Crowning the Queen XI

[Airing on QAW.com]

Bomb: Welcome to my office QAW faithful! 'The Showdown' has come and gone, and if some of these women haven't sorted out their issues after those matches then they are beyond helping at this stage...! If you missed the show don't forget that you can go back and watch it on Wrestleworld! Now, we look ahead to our legendary event 'Crowning the Queen XI', where we, well, we crown the Queen of QAW! Clue is in the name. This year we'll be showcasing 8 incredible talents and tonight I'll be doing some 'bracketology' to get you in the mood!

Red Block

ioKyjRi.jpgyEIo5KV.pngAfiWhYQ.jpg

Alina America vs. 'The Mistress of the DDT' Steph Blake

Bomb: In the opening round of the Red Block it'll be the battle of the triple crown winners, as the current reigning and defending Queen of the Ring Alina America will be taking on, in my opinion, a severely underrated Steph Blake.

"Since winning the 2019 tournament Alina America has been on a roll having not been pinned in a QAW ring for over a year now! And of course, she captured the QAW World Championship in November of that year and has defended against the likes of Foxxy Larue, Emma May, Danielle Sweetheart and Pamela Rojo since! There is no doubt Alina America is the woman to beat in this year's tournament and it’s going to be a tall order to withstand the huge wave of momentum she is riding!".

"But, if anyone has the tools to defeat Alina it’s Steph Blake! Having only made her debut last month with a win over Pamela Rojo, Blake is no rookie with 21 years of experience under her belt and the only woman in history who can call herself a AAA triple crown champion. If you consider the great women who passed through that company, including myself, that is an impressive achievement! She can put you away in an instant with her infinite array of DDTs.".

"Steph is bigger, stronger, and rougher, and Alina is going to have a tough opening round if Blake gets her hands on her.".

SuVbDw9.jpgyEIo5KV.pngkYWJZHG.jpg

‘The Ultimate Diva’ Foxxy Larue [Ronin3] vs. Juana Hurricane [storm Front]

Bomb: Rounding out the Red Block is a Ronin3 revenge match in Larue vs. Hurricane! Now, I know what you’re thinking ‘But Bomb, Foxxy lost at The Showdown, how is she in the tournament?’. Well need I remind you that Foxxy is a former Queen of the Ring and 3x world champion?! And despite losing the World Championship last November she has still had an amazing year. Plus... Farrah Hesketh put her foot in it again interfering in a match and this might calm down the situation...!

"Her opponent Juana Hurricane, a former world champion, is coming off a huge victory at The Showdown over rival Hellcat Hernandez. Yes, there was some controversy over whether Juana was actually bleeding first but did the referee see it? No, she didn’t! And that’s all that matters. The Storm Front leader has been tapping into her potential in recent months and I for one am digging this no nonsense attitude.".

"Now this match is going to be deeply personal because if we cast our minds back it was Foxxy Larue who ended Juana’s world title reign back in April 2019, and took over the Ronin3 stable in which Juana used to run with! You know Juana is itching to claim a win back from 'The Ultimate Diva'! It’s going to be a match testing Juana’s submission skills against Foxxy’s rough and ready brawling, and if either woman turns the match into their kind of fight, it is over for the other one!".

Blue Block

CCOiapt.jpgyEIo5KV.pngYlovj6V.jpg

Emma May [The Furies] vs. ‘Texas Tough’ Ash Grover [The Line]

Bomb: Over in the Blue Block we’ve got Emma May taking on Ash Grover! Over the last year the rise of Emma May has been meteoric and she is coming into this year’s tournament a heavy favourite. A controversial figure in the locker room due to her penchant for causing injuries, which many feel has sparked a trend for other competitors to follow. Admittedly, I don’t like it when any of the merchandise gets broken but I say you can’t really complain because you must know what you’re getting yourself in for with May; a fight with a true MMA badass!

"I know this match up sounds like a forgone conclusion but Ash Grover has also had a standout year, just in a different way! Since returning to QAW after a long absence for personal reasons Ash has been on a mission to prove that she belongs here. And if you ask me she did that at The Showdown with her win over Foxxy Larue in a violent match that I believe deserves a reward. So Ash, this is your chance to prove to the world that you are at the top of your game!".

"If I was betting woman I would be mindful of Emma’s technical advantage and if Emma takes Ash to the mat then it is a game over. But remember, Ash has the speed advantage and an annoying never say die attitude, and we’ve seen that prove a problem to Emma May in the past!".

Vx65cOV.jpgyEIo5KV.png0tUOMbz.jpg

‘The Queen of Hearts’ Danielle Sweetheart vs. Ashley Keith

Bomb: And last but by no means least, Danielle Sweetheart will be taking on wrestling royalty and newly signed talent, Ashley Keith! It seems only fitting that someone of Ashley’s calibre is debuted on the biggest stage QAW has to offer. With only a years worth of professional experience don’t let that fool you into thinking this is some green rookie! The niece of Sam Keith has wrestling coursing through her veins having literally grown up in a wrestling ring! A potent mix of power, technical prowess, and fundamentals decades beyond her age, Ashley Keith has everything she needs to win this tournament in her TV debut!

"But, just because she’s 'Wrestling Royalty' doesn’t mean I’m giving her an easy 1st round match, and she’ll be taking on QAW royalty in the form of ‘The Queen of Hearts’ Danielle Sweetheart, who has been crowned Queen of the Ring a record 4 times. The last year has been rocky for Danielle, having suffered an arm injury at the hands of Emma May, and her return from that has been rocky, but her winning the Battlebowl has reminded everyone to never turn your back on Danielle Sweetheart!".

"So there you have it QAW faithful, your super 8 competitors entering this year’s Queen of the Ring tournament, place your predictions... now!”.

OOC, Predictions from The Showdown:

Historian: 4/7

Herrbear: 4/7

KyTeran: 4/7

Christmas_ape: 4/7

Mimimikuri: 4/7

Now, this is a first for me-- a 5 way tie. I have to say I’m surprised that no one predicted Las Amazonas winning, considering they won the tournament! It makes me wonder if I built them up correctly as a threat [but also bearing in mind their backstory is lost slightly in the 2019 canon for QAW!]. Thanks everyone for your predictions and I hope you like QotR-- I’ll be in touch with the prizes when I figure out how to divide it 5 ways :D

As things unfold globally in chronological order we need to make a visit to the SNP first, which should go up over the weekend, and then QofR will be up a few days later.

The Showdown reflections:

- I was legit disappointed with the LMP/Modesty match! It declined on their previous match and both have had enough ring time since. Modesty in particular just isn’t cutting it, and I’m not sure if she is ready for QAW… Perfect could have done better but she excels when the opponent is stronger I find. I’m hoping the partnership with Higgins elevates the matches in the Shockwave division… And hopefully you clocked the alliance starting in 5SSW!

- Emma is a machine in this save and her mic skills are rapidly improving. Apparently not one of my best talkers still but she gets high ratings! The match against Maki was also a great rating considering it was Maki’s debut. Emma has matured into a decent main event talent!

- Juana and Hellcat had poor chemistry which was really disappointing. They were going to end the feud here anyway but it would have been nice if they capped things off with a strong match! As per a prediction prize their fates are intertwined in the future but they will separate for now until I figure out how to work around that chemistry ding!

- The tag title match was slightly worse than I expected but still a good match! In this save Pinky Perez is really standing out across the globe, in particular her run in 5SSW which was excellent! She’s probably best placed in the tag division for now and there is a singles storyline for her waiting in the wings! But for now I need to build a stronger tag division as QAW’s is a little shallow. And they have some good match ups ahead with Lilly & Rose, Tex-Mex, Payback, and the inevitable rematch with The Experience [Whom I’m also high on!].

- Pamela and Steph kinda sucked! I do like Pamela but she is going to find herself in a gatekeeper role for the time being as I move the pieces around for the next season of storylines. She has really decent stats but is probably a mid-carder for life that can be warmed up for the main event. Steph needed a strong win out of the gates to help her along to where she needs to be… Although an event which I wasn’t prepared for occurred that’s totally swerved the original plan for her…

- The Line vs Ronin3 was great! Ash Grover has been another revelation in this save, as in others she hasn’t pulled ahead like she has in this save so far. The match was a departure from the product and booked like a car crash and pulled out a great stat for all the women involved. The addiction angle for Ash spoke to me on a personal level and I enjoyed blending that into a risky storyline which hopefully didn’t verge into tasteless-- It does somewhat damage Foxxy’s cred but I am running a line between keeping Foxxy warm and being prepared for her to be snapped up by CWA or USPW at any moment!

- Alina vs. Danielle was also great, and thankfully Alina returned to better form as she’s sucked recently! Not championship material at all… I like writing their dynamic as I picture Danielle to be vaguely smug/too sweet and Alina having no time for it-- who says tecnicos need to be besties? As you’ve probably guessed the arrival of Fuyuko spells a departure for Danielle away from the title picture and I’ve got no doubt they’ll have great matches! In fact Danielle is going to be making a few enemies in the near future that’ll keep her very busy!

Going forward sweetheart vs higa and alina vs Emma should make for a great card.

Another really strong event here!

Thanks! Sweetheart and America have their work cut out for them against such top class rudos...

Meanwhile in Scotland...

Location: Glasgow, Scotland

Attendance: 126

The show was not broadcast but recorded for future DVDs

Commentary [done in post]: Highland Warrior & Manny Morhan

The show opens with loud rock music and Scottish Wrestling legend, and SNP commentator, Greg 'The Highland Warrior' McPeterson enters the ring with a mic in hand. The crowd is extremely rowdy and stamping their feet along to the music. Highland Warrior calls for the music to stop...

Highland: A'right lads settle doon! Settle doon ye dafty bastards! Tonight we’ve got something a wee bit different 'n' youse need to show it the respect it deserves! Fur too long this company has had a reputation for being a place where women aren’t treated with respect, 'n’ treated as eye candy. Now lads, there’s time fur that still don’t worry but I know some lassies that want tae get in this ring tonight 'n’ scrap just like the wee jimmies do! I'm wanting ye to give a warm SNP welcome to Thea Davis ‘n’ Zofia Jankovic!

Singles Match

OwfAiCD.jpgyEIo5KV.pngizVKl9f.jpg

Thea Davis vs. Zofia Jankovic

Both women entered the ring to mild applause but most of the audience, who have been conditioned to expect T&A, cat called and shouted lewd comments at the two women. If either woman was uncomfortable they didn’t show it though as Thea played the fiery, plucky babyface and Zofia hammed it up as the mysterious, raven haired vixen.

The match itself was an all out sprint and both women were clearly out to put on a classic, british style wrestling match to establish themselves as an act to be taken seriously. The commentary team [used for future back catalogue DVDs] of Highland Warrior and Manny Morhan put them over and explained their long history wrestling all over Europe, their famous feud over the EWA women's title, and their current journey as tag team partners in Japan.

Unfortunately, for the most part the crowd wasn’t really into what was happening in the ring and only popped for Zofia’s hard kicks, which gave a satisfying ‘thump!’ sound each time they connected. However, the girls pulled out an excellent closing streak which had them balancing precariously on the top rope exchanging headbutts until Thea got the better of of Zofia and pushed her off the turnbuckle to the mat, and finished her off with a picture perfect Elbow Drop from the top rope.

Winner: Thea Davis via pin fall 08:14

[29]

The match got the crowd buzzing.

L833dGj.jpg

The SNP crowd show Thea and Zofia some appreciation and chant 'Women's wrestling!' briefly before SNP owner, Mark Carnie, enters the ring with a microphone and tells them to stop...

kQAGbJN.jpgOwfAiCD.jpgizVKl9f.jpg

Mark Carnie, Thea Davis & Zofia Jankovic

Carnie: Not bad lassies, not bad at all! When Highland Warrior said tae book ye tonight I thought ye’d be jobby! 'N’ can I just say that yer both very, very sexy. What dae ye think lads?

[The crowd roars in approval]

Carnie: Now Rhea Davis, I heard ye was the EWA Women’s Champion, is that right?

Davis: ... It’s Thea, Thea Davis, actually! And no, I lost the belt recently to Karen Bilous, who is a great competitor! But, I have held that belt a record 5 times though!

Carnie: N’a birdy tells me that Sofia here has been yer long time rival fur that belt?

Davis: Zo-fia and I have been competing all over the world together for many years. We spend most of our time in Europe and Japan currently, but it was amazing to compete in the UK, where I’m from, and entertain you all tonight!

Carnie: Well let's be clear ye’r in bonnie Scotland now lassie and we do it a wee bit differently tae Europe ’n’ Japan!

Jankovic: Clearly! I think we’re done here!

Carnie: Na we're not, we have tae introduce SNP's newest star 'n' face of its future women's division! Ye know her from the hit show ‘Chav Resort’ ‘n’ her #1 single ‘Porschuguese’, that’s right! Give a proper SNP welcome tae… PORSCHE!

8a2tP31.jpg

The UK's most famous chav, Porsche, makes her way to the ring in a very revealing dress which is an instant hit with the crowd. As she walks to the ring Thea and Zofia are visibly angry with Mark Carnie and can be seen exchanging harsh words with him, which is drowned out by Porsche's entrance music [which is of course, her #1 single]...

Porsche: Porsche is in the house let’s be hearing ya!!

Carnie: Welcome tae SNP lassie, I have always wanted a go in a Porsche so maybe tonight’s my lucky night!

Porsche: Oh my god, shu’up you flirt! You tryin’ to crack onto me already, Marky?

Carnie: Damn right I am! Ye could be the future Mrs Carnie!

Porsche: Oh Marky, there’s enough of me to go around!

[Porsche starts playing to the crowd and soaks in the cat calling, as Thea and Zofia look on with stony expressions. Eventually, Thea has to nudge Carnie to continue the segment as he becomes completely distracted by Porsche]

Carnie: Oh right, what did ye think of the match? Ye fancy getting in the ring?

Porsche: Oh. My. God! It was literally, like, amazing watching these two and I reckon it looked easy enough, so why not give it a go! You know what I always say boys? ‘Save a horse, ride a Porsche!’.

[As Porsche plays to the crowd again after dropping her questionable catchphrase, she becomes distracted by someone in the front row of the crowd who is hurling abuse at her causing Mark Carnie to leave the ring and address the person]

JUCNkia.jpg

Carnie: What ye got tae say fur yerself lassie?

Millie: The name is Millie Morgan and I’ve heard enough of this s***!

Porsche: Rude!

Millie: Now I didn’t travel all this way to an SNP show to listen to this tramp talk out of her ar--

Carnie: – Now now Millie! Ye got a problem with my show?

Millie: Yes I do, mate. I came tonight to watch some hardcore violence and you’re wasting my time with this?! You’re a joker! If you want a real woman to be your champion then you’re looking at her!

Carnie: That’s big talk for a wee one.

Millie: Talk to me like that again and I’ll cut your tongue out! My full name is Mad Millie Morgan, daughter of the great Walter Morgan, and I am not a ‘wee girl’ you can talk down to. I’ve got bigger balls than every man in this s***hole, so how about you put me in that ring next month with Porsche and I’ll show you what I can do!

Carnie: You’re Walter’s daughter…?

Porsche: Excuse me! But I didn’t come all the way to the back end of nowhere to be upstaged by this… Troll! I don’t care if you’re the daughter of the f****** king of England babes you must be actually--

Carnie: Alright clam up now Mercedes!

Porsche: PORSCHE!

Carnie: Whatever! Alright Mad Millie Morgan, next month you, Rhea and Sofia can take on Porsche ‘n’ two partners of her choosing, in a 6-person tag match, with hardcore rules! I want tae see ye lassies get physical!

[Mark Carnie bombed this segment and continually forgot lines and messed up names]

Commentary: Alfonso Garcia & Farrah Hesketh

Garcia: Hola lucha fans! Welcome to QAW Crowning the Queen XI! My name is Alfonso Garcia and by my side, the ‘Jill-of-all-trades’, Farrah Hesketh!

Hesketh: Thanks Alfonso, it’s good to be back at the announce desk!

Garcia: It’s good to have you back Farrah! Tonight we crown the 11th Queen of the Ring, a prestigious title bestowed on the likes of Foxxy Larue, Juana Hurricane, Jillian Jarvis, and a name synonymous with this tournament, Danielle Sweetheart! If you win this tournament you are stamping your name into the record books as the best in the world.

Hesketh: This tournament isn’t meant to be easy! Now let's head to the ring for the opening ceremony...

Alina America vs. 'The Mistress of the DDT' Steph Blake

The match began with a feeling out process which Alina got the best of showing off her superior speed and technical prowess. However, the noticeable size difference quickly came into play when Steph powered out of a headlock by simply dumping Alina with a backdrop driver.

A dazed Alina played the face in peril perfectly and expertly drew the crowd into the sense of urgency to avoid being caught by Blake again, who controlled the centre of the ring. Of course, Blake did catch Alina eventually, but again Alina easily escaped and caught Blake square in the chest with a drop kick. Sensing her chance, Alina flew from the 2nd rope only for Blake to catch her in mid-air and launched her halfway across the ring with a fall away slam. From there Blake worked an extended heat segment on Alina using a camel clutch to great effect but of course, the world champion wasn’t going down like that and forced Blake to abandon the hold with a sharp cross face.

Blake set up for a DDT but Alina slipped behind and jumped on her back for a sleeper hold, Blake seemed caught for a moment but her experience kicked in and she reversed Alina into a corner. However, the follow up splash didn't connect and Alina scored a backstabber on the rebound. The 'Mistress of the DTT' landed perfectly in front of the top rope and Alina took the chance to land a crisp split-legged moonsault for the win.

Winner: Alina America via pin fall 11:34

  [48]

Garcia: A solid win there for Alina!

Hesketh: That was as good a win as you want in a tournament like this. Even though Alina took a hammering when Steph got her hands on her, it was short and no body parts took major damage, to our knowledge!

Garcia: Very true, Blake put in a good performance but size difference aside Alina is the QAW World Champion and not who you want in the first round!

Hesketh: That’s right, Alfonso! Alina America is the woman to beat tonight, pure and simple.

Garcia: And Alina’s semi-final opponent is to be decided in the next match; Foxxy vs. Juana! But before we go begin I believe Foxxy had something to say earlier tonight!

Hesketh: Great...

eKkpfKa.jpg

In a pre-recorded promo, Foxxy Larue is stood alone in the interview area...

 SuVbDw9.jpg

Foxxy: Where do I even begin? I had the match at 'The Showdown' won until, once again, Farrah Hesketh placed her grubby hands on me. It was a no disqualification match so whatever I was doing in that moment was legal… Not only is she the owner of QAW, but she was the referee in that match! And the last time I checked officials are there to ensure fairness and adherence to the rules, not to become involved in the match itself!

"So, why did Farrah intervene? Well, the conspiracy against me is exposed! Watch the tapes. Not only has Farrah directly interfered in one of my matches, but she has also assaulted me...".

"Now for someone who stresses the importance of fair competition, I find it hard to reconcile the behaviour with the rhetoric! But that’s fine because I have exposed you, Farrah Hesketh. That team of losers, The Line, who buy into your crap, are hypocrites. And everyone who still thinks you’re a good person is delusional. You will regret the day you lay your hands on me, Farrah Hesketh, because I am lodging a complaint with the state athletic commission about the unsafe working conditions that you have created for me. And it isn't just me who feels this way. Facts are facts, Farrah, and your days are numbered!".

‘The Ultimate Diva’ Foxxy Larue [Ronin3] vs. Juana Hurricane [storm Front]

Foxxy and Juana were no strangers to each other having feuded over the world championship just over a year ago; so Foxxy wasted no time reminding Juana of the fact she was the one who ended her reign.

At the bell Foxxy rushed Juana with a thesz press and hammered her forearm shots which forced Juana to bridge towards the ropes to force a break; Foxxy continued the assault though and dragged Juana away and into a standing tilt-a-whirl back breaker for a 2 count. This irrationally annoyed Foxxy and she grabbed a handful of Juana’s hair and tossed her out of the ring. As Juana collected her bearings Foxxy demanded the referee make a fast 10 count [who of course refused]. As the referee reached 4 Juana was almost recovered which prompted Foxxy to join her on the outside. The two women brawled around ringside, periodically breaking the 10 count, with no one gaining an advantage but equally dishing out punishment via slamming each other into the steel steps, ring posts and whatever hard surfaces they came across.

The match returned to the ring and Foxxy’s frustration boiled over into making mistakes which Juana took advantage of, and Foxxy soon found herself struggling on the mat with Juana trying to work the legs over. Towards the end of the match Juana achieved her goal of locking in the ‘Times Square Lock’ [Cloverleaf] and Foxxy scrambled for the ropes but Juana held on for the 4 count. As the referee admonished Juana, Foxxy strategically placed herself in a corner and tripped Juana face first into the 2nd turnbuckle; Foxxy caught Juana in a high-stacked roll up, using the ropes for leverage, and clinched the win.

Winner: Foxxy Larue via pin fall 13:59

  [52]

Garcia: A controversial win there for Foxxy!

Hesketh: It’s a damn shame the referee missed that but a win is a win.

Garcia: And strong words prior to the match from Foxxy, Farrah. Do you have a response?

Hesketh: I strongly deny these ludicrous claims that I am out to get Foxxy Larue!

In a pre-recorded promo, Ash Grover is stood alone in the interview area...

Ylovj6V.jpg

Grover: Many people been askin’ since ah returned what does bein’ ‘Texas Tough’ mean? Well, did y’all know that ah’ve been a professional wrestler for 12 years now? It’s true! Growin’ up ah knew that there was only one job for me and ah have been able to live my dream since ah was 20 years old... It takes grit to survive in this sport... Ah like the word ‘grit’ because it means so many things at once: courageous, durable, resilient, optimistic, confident, creative… dependable. Now, ah know ah haven’t always been these things, and maybe that’s why ah have never won a championship in 12 years. That used to be mighty embarrassin’ to admit out loud. But it’s the truth, and ah can’t shy away from it!

“Y’know what though? Ah’m at peace. It’s taken me 12 years to put the pieces together and discover that ah had grit all along! Ah’m lucky because some folk never figure that out. Tonight ah have an opportunity to win my first ever title and y’all ah'm going to give it my all! Ah might not be your favourite to win and ah have tough competition in front of me with Emma May, but ah believe in myself. I have grit. And that’s why ah’m mother f****** ‘Texas Tough’, Ash Grover!”

Emma May [The Furies] vs. 'Texas Tough' Ash Grover [The Line]

Going into this match Ash was the underdog and everyone in the crowd knew it. Emma began the match by holding the ropes open and inviting Ash to take a count out loss to save herself from getting hurt. The QAW crowd cheered for Ash to fight and came out of their seats when she drop kicked Emma through the ropes.

As Emma was getting up Ash hit the ropes and attempted a tope suicida but Emma quickly moved herself out of the way with a furious look on her face; however, Emma still didn't take Ash seriously, and as she inspected her nose for blood she did not see Ash flying at her again with another tope suicida which looked like a car wreck as both women smashed into the guard rail. Ash was quick to her feet and rolled Emma back into the ring; as Emma rose to her feet Ash flew in with a rope assisted jawbreaker for a 2 count.

The crowd came around to the idea of Ash winning and cheered as Ash threw Emma around the ring with arm drags and even grappled with Emma at one point surprising the fans, and Emma, with her ability. Ash maintained wrist control and went high risk climbing the top rope; but, as Ash balanced on the top rope, Emma regained her composure and wrenched Ash down stomach first on the top rope.

The crowd winced for Ash as she fell to the outside with Emma in hot pursuit, who proceeded to slam Ash into the steel steps and then tossed her back in the ring. There was blood in the water now and Emma knew it, and she peppered Ash with hard kicks and several judo throws. To the delight of the crowd Ash fired up momentarily with some right hands but Emma cut her off with a step-up knee to the face. Ash clutched her face in pain as Emma shot in for a double leg takedown; both women struggled on the ground with Emma slowly but surely manoeuvring herself to take the back and locked in a rear naked choke for the tap out, in perhaps the best QAW match to date.

Emma kicks Ash out of the ring as Dharma Gregg enters the ring, microphone in hand, to interview Emma...

ijLCoLi.jpgCCOiapt.jpg

Dharma: Emma, congratulations on making it to the semi-finals!

May: Well, let's be honest defeating Ash Grover isn’t congratulations worthy...

Dharma: Okay! How are you feeling about tonight’s tournament?

May: I feel like we should save everyone’s time and just crown me now. I am at the top of my game, Dharma, and no other woman in this tournament can measure up right now. I feel healthy, strong, and frankly, the most confident I have ever felt in that ring. And you know what that makes me? Extremely dangerous.

Dharma: I think many would struggle to argue with you after that performance. Your semi-final match is going to be against either Danielle Sweetheart or the debuting Ashley Keith, how do you feel about facing either woman?

May: How do I feel? How about what do I know? I know that it doesn’t matter who I face because the ending is going to go one of three ways; I tap them out, or I put them to sleep, or I break one of their limbs. Poor Danielle has had a taste of all 3 of those outcomes, so I imagine she’ll be thinking twice before stepping up to me again. And as for Ashley, I’d be more than happy to break her into QAW. But what I’m truly hoping for is that Alina America wins her block, so I can put her down. Once and for all.

[40]

Garcia: What an incredible match we just witnessed in the blue block!

Hesketh: Even in loss Ash Grover proved tonight that she belongs in QAW! I’m very proud of her.

eKkpfKa.jpg

In a pre-recorded promo, Ashley Keith is stood alone in the interview area...

0tUOMbz.jpg

Ashley: My name is Ashley Keith… Have you twigged yet? The legendary Sam Keith’s favourite niece, Ashley. If you’re sat there scratching your bald spot saying ‘who’s Sam Keith?’ then I am safe to assume you’re an imbecile with zero taste in professional wrestling! And that's on you to fix. I asked for this time to introduce myself properly because I’m sure you’re dying to know more about me.

"To say I was completely immersed in this sport growing up is an understatement. I set up rings, scrubbed floors, washed gear, anything and everything, to get me ‘family time’ with my uncle and cousins to learn how to wrestle. And I was damn good at it. I was better than Greg and Matt combined. And that scared my uncle because you know what the messed up thing was? My cousins had the luxury of competing in the ‘family business’, or virtually anywhere they wanted, but there was no place for women, so there was no place for me. I was relegated to acting out wrestling with dolls. And they just used to break far too easily...".

"I have been the true heir apparent to the Keith dynasty since the moment I was born, my uncle couldn't bear his brother's daughter wrestling circles around his boys. So I’m relegated to competing here! So I have come to Queens of American Wrestling to prove that there is only one ‘Queen of Professional Wrestling’, and that’s me!".

‘The Queen of Hearts’ Danielle Sweetheart vs. ‘The Queen of Professional Wrestling’ Ashley Keith

The crowd was sold on Ashley by virtue of her surname but in the opening moments of the match she wowed everyone in attendance by out wrestling and over powering Danielle, demonstrating fantastic technical skill and raw strength. During the 3rd exchange Ashley caught Danielle in a waist lock and hit a picture perfect snap German suplex; as Danielle clutched the back of her head Ashley posed for the crowd and the crowd sensed both a potential upset and that Ashley was pretty unlikeable... and began booing her.

Undeterred, Ashley worked Danielle over with suplexes and locked in an inverted single leg crab; transitioned into a sleeper and used her own legs in a figure 4 to continue applying the single leg crab. The move was sloppy but showed innovation and that Ashley was here to win. The crowd stamped in sync with Danielle slowly getting to her feet with Ashley holding onto the sleeper. A couple of elbows shots to the ribs later and Danielle was free and she caught Ashley with a spin kick for a 2 count.

The comeback was short lived though as Ashley recovered first and Irish whipped Danielle into a corner. Showing her inexperience Ashley played to the crowd instead of keeping on the offence, and when she charged in Danielle dodged and Ashley went shoulder first into the turnbuckle. Not wasting a moment Danielle applied a waist lock and pulled Ashley back into an O’Connor roll for the win.

Winner: Danielle Sweetheart via pin fall 10:25

Ashley is stunned and looks at the referee incredulously...

Vx65cOV.jpg0tUOMbz.jpg

Ashley: What have you done? You ruined my debut!

[Ashley grabs referee Erin Thomas by the shoulders and looks on the verge of harming her when Danielle stands in between them and takes Ashley to the side for a word. The exchange isn't audible but Danielle appears to be reassuring Ashley that she did a good job and the two end up embracing.

As Danielle turns to leave Ashley clocks her in the back of the head and has her in her modified 'Proton Lock' [scorpion Crosslock] in seconds. The crowd pops for the move which is awkwardly juxtaposed against Danielle crying out in pain. To add insult to injury Ashley modifies the hold into a choke and hangs on until Erin Lawrence pries her grip apart, and Danielle slumps to the ground in a heap.

Ashley takes a bow in the centre of the ring and leaves to a chorus of boos]

[43]

Garcia: Lucha fans we’ll be updating you on the status of Danielle Sweetheart as soon as we can. As you can see she is being checked on by medical personnel right now.

Hesketh: It goes without saying that was disgraceful behaviour, but Ashley Keith may have just cost the tournament for Danielle Sweetheart there. That submission hold puts extreme pressure on the lower back, shoulders and neck, and I’m pretty sure we saw Danielle lose consciousness there from the choke hold…!

ijLCoLi.jpgioKyjRi.jpg

Dharma: Thanks Farrah! Alina, congratulations on reaching the semi-finals after an impressive win over Steph Blake. You’re next opponent, Foxxy Larue, is a strong competitor. What are your thoughts on facing her?

Alina: It’s true Foxxy and I are familiar to say the least! I am the one who ended her championship reign last year after all… But, as Foxxy proved earlier tonight, even without Ronin3 around she is not only dangerous but she’s willing to cheat. Foxxy, if you’re listening to this I challenge you to beat me fair and square in that ring next.

Dharma: And what are your thoughts on Emma May’s saying she would like to face you in the finals?

Alina: I accept that Emma is the number one contender right now, so before I defend the QAW World Championship against her, I’d like to be riding the momentum of defeating her tonight for my 2nd Queen of the Ring title. So defeating her in the finals sounds good to me. Besides, she needs to get past Danielle first, and as irritating as she can be, she’s no slouch in the ring. Ultimately it doesn’t matter whether its Foxxy, Emma or Danielle, I’ve defeated them all in the last year, and who have they all failed to defeat? Me!

Alina America vs. ‘The Ultimate Diva’ Foxxy Larue [Ronin3]

The match began with Foxxy offering her hand to Alina. The crowd urged Alina not to do it but the champion meant her challenge and accepted. To the surprise of no one Foxxy held onto Alina’s hand and both were squeezing each others hand like a vice, and exchanged words. To the surprise of everyone it ended without incident and they locked up.

Alina and Foxxy put on a clinic which was to be expected having wrestled extensively over the years with several big clashes. There were a couple of opportunities for Foxxy to resort to cheap tactics but she refrained and opted for clean breaks. The match up was similar to Alina’s last encounter with Steph Blake, she was the smaller, faster and more technically gifted competitor, but Foxxy’s size advantage lay in her lanky frame which she used to good effect using superior footwork and strikes to prevent Alina from getting too close. Of course, old habits die hard, and Foxxy raked Alina’s eyes when the referee was out of position, and followed up with a high stack pin but was caught at 2 trying to put her feet on the ropes.

From there, the match became a hard hitting affair and Foxxy used everything she could from rope chokes, hair pulling and being liberal with the referee’s 5 count to cut corners. Foxxy worked Alina’s back with tilt-a-whirl back breakers, pendulum back breakers and suplexes. A near fall came after an inverted headlock backbreaker into a northern lights but Alina just got her shoulder up. Frustration seeped into Foxxy’s mindset and she started making mistakes which allowed Alina to work her way back into the match. Towards the end of the match Alina built up enough momentum to go for the Southern Lights Bomb but as she lifted Foxxy her back gave out and instead Foxxy lifted Alina into a slingshot back breaker for her troubles.

Whatever Foxxy tried it wasn’t enough to put Alina away so she hoisted Alina up onto the top turnbuckle obviously seeking a superplex. The crowd were on their feet as they watched the two women struggle on the top rope and they gasped as Alina kicked Foxxy’s foot out and she landed on the turnbuckle towards Alina; as commentary wondered what Alina would do next, in a fluid motion Alina trapped Foxxy’s head between her legs and hit a massive avalanche poison-rana for the victory.

Winner: Alina America via pin fall 19:57

  [60]

Garcia: Another fantastic match! The QAW World Champion is on fire tonight.

Hesketh: That she is, and as much as Foxxy rubs me the wrong way, she put in an excellent performance. But, she gave into her frustrations again and got in her own way. No doubt it'll be my fault, but she needs to work on that!

Garcia: Foxxy may have lost but she got her licks on Alina's back, you can see the champion is favouring it slightly.

Hesketh: Tournaments are not a sprint, they are a marathon! And you can't afford picking up long matches or worn down body parts in the opening rounds. That match was 20 minutes long so Alina better get backstage and fuel up!

Garcia: Well fingers crossed for Alina our next semi finals is like the one we just witnessed! Emma May vs Danielle Sweetheart is next.

Hesketh: Actually, Alfonso, I'm getting word that Commissioner Bomb has asked for us to cut to the trainers room backstage first!

Danielle Sweetheart is sat on a physio bed as a doctor examines one of her shoulders, Commissioner Bomb is observing...

Commissioner Bomb & Danielle Sweetheart

Bomb: Listen, Danielle, sometimes you just have to listen to the doctors. You’ve won this tournament 4 times already! You don’t need to prove anything to anyone.

Danielle: Look me in the eye and say that Bomb!

Bomb: Listen to the doctor, please.

Danielle: I know I don’t have to prove anything to anyone else, but I have something to prove to myself. I’m not giving up!

Bomb: It isn’t giving up Danielle! You took heavy damage to your lower back and shoulders from that Proton Lock, never mind the fact you blacked out. It’s no good competing if you just end up breaking your body in the process, no one is going to thank you for that! Plus, you’ve got Emma next and need I remind you of your last encounters with her?

Danielle: If I am going to be eliminated from this tournament then it is happening in that ring, and not in here. I’m going now.

[Danielle storms out of the trainers room as Commissioner Bomb shrugs to the doctor. Suddenly loud crashing and screams can be heard from a short distance away. Bomb rolls her eyes and tells the camera to follow her as she seeks the disturbance out a short distance down a corridor; the camera catches Ashley Keith attacking Danielle again, and has the Proton Lock applied. Danielle screams at the top of her lungs as Ashley wrenches harder and harder]

  0tUOMbz.jpg

Ashley: YOU! RUI--NED-MY DE-BUT!

Bomb: Stop this! Stop this at once!

Ashley: NO!

Bomb: I’m going to give you 3 seconds or you’ll regret it.

[Ashley wrenches back again and it appears as if Danielle has passed out from the pain. True to her word Bomb counts to 3 and picks up a nearby trash can lid and smashes Ashley around the head forcing her to break the hold. Backstage staff appear to take Ashley away and Bomb helps the doctor take Danielle back to the trainers room]

Bomb: Get the tag match on whilst we sort out this mess!

Little Miss Perfect & Christy Higgins vs. The San Diego Girls [Coco Malloy & Izzy Quick]

The budding alliance between Miss Perfect and Higgins reached full bloom in this match and told the story of Higgins and Perfect working well together; but, with an edge of Higgins calling the match and directing Perfect’s offence. The San Diego Girls did a good job of popping the crowd with their flashy move set but were ultimately there to bump for their opponents; Higgins was noticeably carrying the match and her work generally looked far crisper. The finish came when Higgins blind tagged in and caught an unsuspecting Izzy Quick from behind with the Florida Upswing [sliced Bread#2].

Winners: Little Miss Perfect & Christy Higgins via pin fall 10:28

  [40]

Garcia: An impressive debut for Higgins! And are we witnessing a new tag team join the QAW ranks?

Hesketh: I hope so! Christy Higgins is a world class competitor and I'm excited to see what she brings to QAW.

Garcia: What do you make of the alliance with Miss Perfect?

Hesketh: Well, what you might not know is that Miss Perfect and Higgins were AAA tag champions once upon a time. I know that they reconnected in Japan recently and I’m guessing Miss Perfect asked Commissioner Bomb to give Christy a shot. Last month Higgins helped Miss Perfect retain her title by cheating so I think my hopes she would be a good influence is out the window..

Bomb: Welcome to my office QAW faithful. It is with deep regret that I must inform you that the Blue Block Semi-Final match between Danielle Sweetheart and Emma May cannot go ahead. This is due to Danielle not being medically cleared to compete after being assaulted by Ashley Keith, not once, but twice; there will be consequences for Ashley, but I have not determined the severity yet. It would undermine the fairness of the tournament to allow a replacement to come in at this stage, so, Emma May will receive a by into the finals against Alina America.

"Now, it strikes me that this match up presents an opportunity to put on the main event of the year, hell, the decade. Recently, I have been accused of placing barriers between the ‘true number one contender’ Emma May, and the QAW World Champion, Alina America; I’d like to take this opportunity to quash this rumour and be fair. So, the finals of the Queen of the Ring will not only be for that title, but the QAW World Championship will also be on line!".

[46]

Hesketh: She can't be serious?!

Garcia: That is a blockbuster-a-go-go announcement! Can she just make that match?

Hesketh: No, unless Alina America has already agreed to it and signed the match contract. If I was Alina I would refuse!

Garcia: Alina is a proud champion, and a fighting one too! I imagine she wouldn't want to back down to Emma May under any circumstance!

Hesketh: This is just wrong Alfonso...

QAW World Championship: Alina America © vs. Emma May [The Furies]

Alina looked stoic during her entrance and it was clear she was fatigued from the previous matches; commentary wondered about her back in particular. But, this was familiar territory for Alina who had faced Emma before with an injury and won.

In contrast Emma May appeared the definition of ‘smug’ and she stared Alina down as the ring introductions were made. The crowd felt uneasy but fired up to see their champion, Alina America, overcome the odds yet again.

At the bell Alina came out of her corner hot with a dropkick taking Emma off her feet. The champion charged around the ring on pure adrenaline hitting her challenger with everything she had from drop kicks to arm drags and ranas; desperately avoiding being drawn into a grappling contest. After a series of near falls, Emma retreated to the outside. The champion was not going to be baited out of the ring like she was at Starshow and told the referee to count. On the 7 count Emma rolled into the ring and Alina rushed in with kicks but Emma weathered the storm, caught one of kicks and Alina lost balance.

This was enough for Emma to score a single leg takedown and the difference in energy levels became apparent as Alina scrambled away but Emma shut her escape down by simply overpowering her and dragging her up for a gutwrench suplex. The shot of pain to Alina’s back caused her to sit straight up which left her open to several hard kicks to the back. The matched continued for several more excruciating minutes of Emma stalking Alina using suplexes and slams clearly wearing her down but not going for the kill. To her credit Alina fought back at every chance but never enough to turn the tide.

The finish came when Emma went in for a standing rear naked choke but Alina had it well scouted and dropped to the mat and pulled Emma into a small package pin for a near fall.

"1,2..-!"

Before Alina could get to her feet May was already on her and powered her up into a big spinebuster in the centre of the ring. From there May passed Alina’s guard and locked a figure four around her waist and gradually took the back. The champion fended off the choke attempts so Emma resorted to short elbow shots and cross faces, all the while using her legs to squeeze the air out of Alina. After taking several rough hits Alina tried bridging but didn’t have the energy and just ended up getting flattened out, and the rear naked choke was locked in. The crowd was in a frenzy urging Alina on; it was clear Alina was fighting it but after 30 long seconds she faded, and the referee called the match for Alina’s own safety.

"Your winner, and the 11th prestigious Queen of the Ring, and, NEW QAW World Champion, EMMA MAY!"

Winner: AND NEW CHAMPION! Emma May via stoppage 11:46

  [56]

The match got the crowd buzzing

Garcia: NEW CHAMPION! Emma May has done it lucha fans! Not only is Emma May the new QAW world champion but she is the reigning Queen of the Ring too! Incredible!

Hesketh: It was a fair match but you have to question whether that should have been for the QAW world championship too! I can't help but feel Alina America was screwed over tonight by Commissioner Bomb.

Garcia: At the end of the day that was a sanctioned match Farrah, and Emma May stormed through the champion on her way to the gold!

Hesketh: A much more damaged and worn out champion...! Anyway, congratulations to our new QAW World Champion, Emma May!

Garcia: Alina America is being checked on by officials; Emma May has been joined in the ring by her Furies stablemates Honey Badger and Marie Punnen.

Hesketh: You would think she had just won the Queen of the Ring tournament fairly...

Garcia: Lucha fans that is all we have time for! We'll see you at Amazons Attack next month!

Oh, the drama - what a show with some of your best match ratings. Really happy to see the belt on May and the circumstances must mean there will be a rematch at some point.

Looks like you have a great heel in Ashley Keith and I'm sure Sweetheart will want her revenge at some point.

Curious where you're heading to with this Larue/Hesketh storyline!

It makes sense though, if Emma May was winning it would obviously be her vs Alina next for the title. So now this being Alina's rematch instead already adds more to it.

Also damn you for making me care about Ashley just before she takes a loss again! I know that's her role and she does it well.

A lot of story lines going on right now, it's great.

[Airing on QAW.com]

Bomb: Welcome to my office QAW faithful. Crowning the Queen XI is in the record books as our biggest show to date, and what a night it was! Not only are we living under the reign of 'Queen' Emma May, but she also sensationally defeated Alina America for the QAW World Championship! Now, I've come under criticism for my decision to book that match and I have to say you just can't win sometimes! After being called unfair towards Emma May for months, when I fix that, I'm cancelled for not being fair to Alina... Let me remind you that she agreed to that match. Alina America's loss is on Alina America. I for one am excited to see what Emma May can do atop QAW! The first event after Crowning the Queen is a time for new beginnings so you must be wondering what is in store for our next event Amazons Attack; normally I'd use the time we have together to tell you just that, but we're doing things differently this month! It is with great pleasure to announce that QAW is going on tour!

"Well, not technically on tour as we're staying in state, but, we're holding 3 'Amazons Attack tour' events exclusively on QAW.com! You can expect the same hard hitting drama from our amazing QAW roster as well as some new faces! The full cards can be found on the QAW.com website...".

"...Okay, okay! I'll tell you a little bit about 'Amazons Attack'! I have been so impressed by The Line recently. Their drive and devotion to being upstanding pillars of the community is both admirable and nauseating; but, I can't help but wonder how that would hold up when a shot at the QAW World Championship is on the line? So, at Amazons Attack all 3 members of The Line will face each other in a triple threat with the winner earning a title shot at next month's 'Capital Clash' event! Speaking of the world championship, our new champion Emma May will have her first defence against someone who has been putting in excellent performances recently. Someone who is perhaps Emma's equal in terms of technical skill and submissions, someone who made the last woman who crossed her bleed and beg for forgiveness, a former world champion in her own right; Juana Hurricane! I've said enough... Cut the feed!".

OOC, Predictions from Crowning the Queen XI:

Historian: 3/5

Herrbear: 3/5

KyTeran: 5/5

Christmas_ape: 5/5

Mimimikuri: 4/5

Kudos KyTeran and Christmas_ape, and thanks to everyone for predicting. The prize this month was creative steers on future storylines which I’ve taken on board! Should be fine to make them all happen :D

Crowning the Queen reflections:

- So, KyTeran chose the winner of this tournament back in Feb game time [so, after Starshow]. In all the test runs Emma leaves QAW at the start of the year so she was not the original choice to win the tournament-- it was Danielle. Its clear so far that Emma has a much better roll for this game and I like writing her matches [as I like MMA and Jiu Jitsu in particular] so I’m keen to see what she can do leading the company.

- In my test runs Alina survives as world champion for much longer but there is something not clicking in this save. She is still the face of the company but her performances are struggling! I think she needs to cool off and get some ring time in before she runs at the belt again.

- Despite losing, Ashley Keith had a solid debut and gained pop. Danielle is the ultimate babyface I think and can eat some losses as long as she bounces back-- She has some good matches on the horizon, and Higa is in the shadows...

- I think the LMP/Higgins pairing is going to push LMP up to the level she needs to be at if she's going to hold the mid-card title.

- I don’t know why but Ash Grover and Emma put on the best match-- it out-shined the whole card, which is surprising considering the pops in the other matches… Bright future for Ash if she keeps it up.

- Next few shows will be ‘tour’ shows in an experiment to trying weekly shows. I might just stick with occasional tours to help build up bigger events… It’s mostly to conserve time around writing and not burning out trying to write massive events every week. Hopefully it works.

- Officially in open water storyline wise, let me know who you want to see more of and If there are other companies you’d like to visit! We’ll be visiting SNP in the near future to check in with Porsche and Mad Millie…

On commentary: Alfonso Garcia & Farrah Hesketh

Garcia: Hola lucha fans! My name is Alfonso Garcia and I am joined, as ever, by Farrah Hesketh, and welcome to a QAW first! We are on the road for night 1 of the Amazons Tour!

Hesketh: Of course we say that with tongue in cheek as we’re still in good old Texas but we’re trying something different with the schedule tonight. And we have a stacked card for you!

Garcia: That’s right! The controversial Ashley Keith will be in action tonight, and Farrah, talk about making a first impression.

Hesketh: Indeed, Ashley has shown she doesn’t much care for making a good first impression on her fellow QAW wrestlers, unless we’re talking about the impressions she left in Danielle Sweetheart’s neck at Crowning the Queen!

Garcia: Sonnaz Shah will certainly have her work cut out! And in our main event, the woman destined to face Emma May for the QAW world championship at Amazons Attack, Juana Hurricane, will be taking on the always mischievous Millie the Minx!

Hesketh: There is no doubt in my mind Juana will be looking to send a message to Emma May tonight in advance of their match. If I was Millie I’d be worried!

Garcia: But before we head to these matches we have a fantastic opener with Steph Blake taking on the debuting Thea Davis. Farrah, what can you tell us about Thea?

Hesketh: She is a true student of the game, Alfonso! Very well travelled having been a regular on the British, European and Japanese scene for years now, and she is a former 5 time EWA women’s champion! She’s picked up a little something from everywhere she’s travelled and she has developed into a solid all rounder! Her opponent, Steph Blake, has really relied on her size and strength so far but if you ask me Thea measures up to Steph, and then some! We’ve got ourselves a match up on our hands!

'The Mistress of the DDT' Steph Blake vs. Thea Davis

After suffering her first defeat at Crowing the Queen Steph Blake was in a noticeably poor mood; this was contrasted nicely by Thea’s fiery tecnico gimmick and both women wrestled the match with something to prove. As predicted Steph relied on strength early on but the advantage was only slight and Thea impressed many by showing off a potent mix of technical, aerial and puroresu, and it seemed Steph had her work cut out. However, the bad mood of Steph Blake was enough to weather the assault and Blake cut corners to regain control of the match with a focus on Thea’s neck. The finish came after Blake had Thea caught on the 2nd rope and delivered a running knee thrust from the apron; as Thea clutched at her face Blake slingshotted over the top rope and caught her with a stiff DDT for the win.

Winner: Steph Blake via pin fall 10:48

[38]

The match got the show off to a strong start and the crowd hotter

Garcia: A tough debut for Thea Davis there.

Hesketh: Even in loss she was impressive Alfonso, there is a bright future ahead for Thea! And I'll be interested to see where Steph Blake goes next.

Garcia: Speaking of debuts, someone who made theirs at Crowning the Queen was Ashley Keith and its safe to say that the 2nd generation star didn't take kindly to losing.

Hesketh: No one takes kindly to losing in this sport Alfonso! But Ashley crossed a line by attacking Danielle Sweetheart who defeated her fair and square. Even worse, she took Danielle out of the tournament which I think really sealed Emma May's overall victory.

eKkpfKa.jpg

In a pre-recorded promo, Ashley Keith is stood alone in the interview area...

0tUOMbz.jpg

Ashley: So, I suppose everyone is expecting me to apologise to Danielle Sweetheart huh? Expecting me to apologise for contorting her spine so much she blacked out from the pain? Or, expecting me to apologise for ending her dream of becoming a 5 time Queen of the Ring…? Danielle, I am sorry… I am sorry that you got in my way. Go back and watch the tape, I had that match won until I was screwed over by shoddy officiating! Because of that fast count I was denied the debut that I deserve, a debut that my families legacy demands. But that didn’t happen. I lost my temper and I have paid the money Commissioner Bomb fined me. It’s a good thing I didn’t come here to make money otherwise that might have bothered me! You see, Danielle, I don’t need a tournament to tell me something I already know; that I am the ‘Queen of Professional Wrestling’ and I’m only here to crush each and every woman in QAW under-my-heel!

Sonnaz Shah [Storm Front] vs. 'The Queen of Professional Wrestling' Ashley Keith

Despite having little to brag about Ashley came into the match as if she was the world champion already and showed Sonnaz little regard. Both women are keen technical wrestlers and treated the crowd to some crisp opening sequences but Ashley quickly introduced some mean looking twists and cranks that Sonnaz wasn’t at all prepared for, and she was easy pickings for the rest of the match. After being dumped around the ring with a series of suplexes Sonnaz was locked into the Proton Lock [Scorpion Crosslock] and forced to tap out.

Winner: Ashley Keith via submission 07:36

  [40]

Hesketh: Ashley made quick of Sonnaz tonight, that Proton Lock is something to be feared!

Garcia: What do you think of her message to Danielle?

Hesketh: A bad workwoman blames her tools, right? Ashley lost that match. She came out the gate strong but she made a rookie mistake and Danielle capitalised. She can blame the referee, she can blame Danielle, she can blame whoever she wants but ultimately it doesn't matter! She lost! Now, I'm interested in how Danielle is feeling sitting at home recuperating and watching Ashley running her mouth...!

Juana Hurricane [storm Front] vs. Millie the Minx

Two QAW originals clashed in the main event and put on a good match even though the ending was never in doubt. After 10 years of no gold Millie the Minx is firmly established in her role as jobber for life and she did her best to make Juana look great. As for Juana she slowly picked Millie apart working over the right knee and looked exceptionally skilled on the mat; which commentary noted as being a threat to Emma who was usually the stronger mat wrestler in her matchups. After hitting Millie with a dragon screw, Juana screamed ‘Filler!’ at the hard camera and locked in the Time-Square Lock [Cloverleaf] for the victory.

Winner: Juana Hurricane via submission in 09:39

As Juana celebrates Dharma Gregg enters the ring, microphone in hand, to interview her...

kYWJZHG.jpgijLCoLi.jpg

Dharma: Juana Hurricane congratulations on a hard fought victory! Next week at Amazons Attack you are facing Emma May in her first QAW world championship defence. Now, Emma May hasn’t held back online labelling you ‘filler’ and a ‘comfortable’ victory to establish her first reign. Do you have a response?

Juana: Is this where I’m supposed to get upset that Emma May isn’t taking me seriously? The same Emma May who needed Commissioner Bomb to help her win the world championship…? I honestly don’t care what she thinks. When you’re the champ you better take every defence seriously because it only takes a moment… And then you’re the former champ!

Dharma: You don’t care that Emma is underestimating you?

Juana: I feel like everyone in QAW underestimates me. I’m a former Queen of the Ring, a former world champion, and I lead my own faction; but time and time again, I’m this underdog figure. Let me put it this way, the brightest morning can end in a raging storm by nightfall, and Emma you’re having your moment in the sun right now! But I am the dark cloud brewing on your horizon and if you have any sense you’ll be prepared for me because when I get my hands on you, oh baby, I’m going to tear right through you!

On commentary: Alfonso Garcia & Farrah Hesketh

Garcia: Hola lucha fans and welcome to QAW Amazons Tour night 2! My name is Alfonso Garcia and by my side, the incomparable, Farrah Hesketh!

Hesketh: Thanks Alfonso! We’ve got another great night of action ahead for you in the build up to Amazons Attack. I’m particularly looking forward to seeing our tag team division spotlighted with the promising 2 San Diego Girls taking on former champions The Rage. We’ve got new tag champions in Las Amazonas and you know these teams are jockeying for that first title shot!

Garcia: We also have another great debut tonight as we have Danger Musashibo from Japan here. Farrah, what can you tell us about this star?

Hesketh: Danger is the daughter of the legendary Yoshimi Mushashibo and honestly she really is the polar opposite of her father! She is well known in Japan for being a daredevil, death match specialist, and what she lacks in technical skill she more than makes up for with sheer guts and determination. Her opponent tonight, Pamela Rojo, has the strength and size edge, and she’s a tough woman, but we’ve never had someone like Danger in QAW before, so I’m excited to see them lock up!

Garcia: Pamela’s had an up and down year and the last time we saw her was in a losing effort to Steph Blake, so she’ll want to get back on track to another shot at the world championship I’m sure!

Hesketh: And in our main event a new number one contender for Little Miss Perfect’s Shockwave title will be decided with ‘100% Rudo’ Raquel Alvarado taking on Penny Ramone! I never thought I’d say this but Miss Perfect has been champion for almost a year at this point and could be poised to become the longest reigning Shockwave champion of all time!

2 San Diego Girls [Coco Malloy & Izzy Quick] vs The Rage [Honey Badger & Marie Punnen [The Furies]]

Two teams representing the future of the company opened the show and from a booking perspective it was a gamble as no woman in the ring had more than 2 years ring time with QAW. The crowd was into the match to begin with as The Rage were carrying some heat from Emma May and the crowd was vocal against them. And of course Coco and Izzy were more than happy to pop the crowd with a flashy move. Around 8 minutes in Coco flew from the top rope at Marie who met her with a kick but something went awry and immediately collapsed clutching at her leg. The referee checked in and quickly threw up the X signal and the 4 rookies lost control of the match from there. Marie pulled herself over to Honey for the tag and the match awkwardly worked its way to its finish with Honey hitting Coco with an exploder suplex.

In a match with decent reaction but terrible wrestling, The Rage def. 2 San Diego Girls via pin in 10:14

Medics check on Marie and after a tense minute or 2 help her from the ring leaving Honey lingering awkwardly in the ring. The silence is broken by Las Amazonas' music and the new champions make their way to the ring with mics...

QAW Tag Team Champions, Las Amazonas; Pinky Perez & Mariana Torres

Pinky: Oh Honey, Honey, Honey... You see Commissioner Bomb granted us the privilege of choosing our first title defence, and Mariana and I were thinking we hadn’t taken on The Rage before! After all you’re former champions and you won your match tonight! But it looks like your girl Marie’s gone *bleep*-ed it up for you… So, adiós girl.

[Honey Badger scoffs and flips Pinky off before exiting the ring]

Mariana: Nos vemos chicas!

Pinky: We always said if we beat The Experience for the championships it would cement our names as being the best, and now we’ve got the gold to prove it too. It takes a lot to fight your way to the top of the mountain but it takes even more to hold your spot, and now we’re here we don’t plan on coming down anytime soon!

Mariana: But more than anything we want to be fighting champions and right now it looks like we’ve got ourselves a date at Amazons Attack but no dance partners! So, tag teams in the back, consider this an open challenge. If you think you’ve got what it takes then step up to us right now!

Las Amazonas stand proud in the ring waiting for a tag team to come forward. After 30 seconds Pinky and Mariana start to think no one is coming until…

Payback Inc; Toni Parisi & Becca Barton

[Toni & Becca swagger out of the curtain with mics in hand and stand at the top of the stage sneering at the champions in the ring]

Toni: Becca and I were listening backstage and we felt terrible that you don’t have dance partners for Amazons Attack. Now, we aren’t professionals by any stretch but we know a few trusty moves that’ll get the party started.

Becca: I prefer a mosh pit myself...

Toni: We can sort the finer details out later but what do you say girls?

Pinky: We were hoping to test ourselves against former champions, but we’d be happy to settle if you can pull yourself away from wearing tin foil hats with Foxxy!

Toni: Very funny! We may not have claimed a title together yet but you know damn well we’ve achieved more than your two punk asses combined.

Mariana: Is that so?

Toni: It is and at Amazons Attack you’re going to learn that Payback--

Becca: – IS A BI*bleep*!

[Las Amazonas smirk and beckon Payback to 'bring it' into the ring as Toni & Becca wave them off and head backstage]

[37]

This got the crowd hotter

Garcia: Looks like we’ve got a QAW world tag team championship defence happening at Amazons Attack! Las Amazonas versus Payback Inc., what a match Farrah!

Hesketh: No doubt Pinky was playing mind games taunting them about wanting to face former champions first because she knows full well Toni Parisi and Becca Barton can go in that ring.

Garcia: Absolutely, they are both well respected in the industry but perhaps Pinky was getting at them being second fiddle to Foxxy?

Hesketh: The less we hear about her the better! We’ll be updating you on the status of Marie Punnen as soon as we hear anything but until then we’re ready for a 2nd match of the evening folks!

Danger Mushashibo vs. 'Red Alert' Pamela Rojo

Despite coming from different backgrounds and journeys in wrestling Rojo and Danger are both rough and ready competitors and their match reflected that. The crowd was very receptive to what Danger brought to the table and enjoyed watching her fly around the ring with little regard for her own physical safety and her penchant for headbutts. But Rojo is the original badass of QAW and gave as good as she got, and impressed the crowd by woman handling Danger whenever she got her hands on her showing off some power moves. The finish came after Danger crashed and burned a moonsault attempt and as she got to her feet was turned inside out by a lariat, followed by the ‘Red Alert’ [Running powerbomb].

Winner: Pamela Rojo via pin fall 12:28

[39]

The match got the crowd hotter

eKkpfKa.jpg

After having her hand raised in victory Pamela asks for a mic...

TtUc3j8.jpg

Pamela: Cut my music, I have something I want to get off my chest. Back in June, at The Showdown, I had a match against Steph Blake which I lost and that’s fine! After 16 years in the business you learn to live with the occasional loss. But Steph, I can't let go that you put your damn hands on me for no reason. A 20 year vet like you feels the need to do that to get her noticed? That’s some bulls*bleep* Steph, and to think before the match I told you how much I respected you! What’s worse is that no one stopped you, in fact, no one even came to check on me afterwards! At that point I realised that I had no one in QAW to watch my back and I’ll be honest with you all that was a pretty low week for me.

"But, then something amazing happened and a truly special person reached out to me and offered their support… And Steph, that person remembers you from a previous company and suggested I have a word with Commissioner Bomb about setting us up a match to get a measure of revenge on your ass, and she said yes! So, Steph Blake, grab yourself a partner and my new friend and I will see you at Amazons Attack!".

[27]

Hesketh: Sounds like Pamela is feeling some type of way about Steph Blake!

Garcia: Well Farrah, I caught up with Pamela earlier tonight and I think betraying Alina America back at American Lucha cost her some friendships and for what? She didn’t claim the gold! Steph might end up regretting taking a cheap shot at Pamela because it sounds like she’s going to get the brunt of her frustrations. Who do you think the mystery partner could be?

Hesketh: Who knows! Commissioner Bomb handles all the signings but I’m looking forward to finding out!

Garcia: We’re ready for our main event number one contendership match featuring Penny Ramone versus Raquel Alvarado! Farrah, my money is on Ramone for this one. She is the future of women’s wrestling!

Hesketh: She is but you can’t count out Alvarado so easily! She has big match experience in buckets and Ramone doesn’t. Regardless of who wins they not only have to worry about Little Miss Perfect at Amazons Attack, but Christy Higgins too!

Penny Ramone vs. ‘100% Rudo’ Raquel Alvarado

Although some might question Alvarado’s place in a number one contenders match after a 2020 of losses she is a perennial challenger for the Shockwave title. As for Ramone, she has been lighting up the independent scene alongside Brianna Riot as ‘Pussy Riot’ and currently holds the KFW tag titles with Suzanne Brazzle in an odd couple storyline. Her last appearance for QAW in April she stole the spotlight from the regulars in her match and commentary highlighted she’s being given a wildcard opportunity. The match itself was solid and Alvarado lived the gimmick which allowed Ramone to shine and her adeptness at every aspect of wrestling was clear to see. Ramone snatched the victory with a sunset flip from the top rope and stamped her ticket to face Little Miss Perfect at Amazonas Attack.
