Started CGC, Ricky DeColt instantly got snagged up by the big leagues and I couldn't contractually compete. That leaves Jack DeColt as the only one left wrestling for the promotion. Ricky starts in a best of 7 feud with Thrill Seeker so I had Ricky win his final match against him tying the series at 2 and 2. And after the match I had Seeker beat Ricky down and powerbomb him off the stage to write him off TV.

Has anyone else tried playing As CGC and were you able to keep Ricky without cheating?

Still a lot of work I want to do, but I'm starting to plan. The intent is obviously to run WCW, which will start at Cult, shorn of most of its top stars, and now owned by Shane McMahon. The intent is to build around some of the WCW youngsters, ECW leftovers, and the host of young talent on the indy scene by mid-2001. An idea I used with PWI in the ThunderVerse is to introduce an old school masked patriot wrestler, under an American mask. The main Patriot would be somebody relatively known but solid in the ring and obviously American. Ideally, they would become an upper midcard mainstay but not necessarily ever become a main eventer. The main role would be using the Patriot gimmick as a way to introduce new young talent, as the main Patriot would always have one or two young protégés, also working under similar mask. After a time, the youngsters would unmask and work under their own character. The youngster gets some help building popularity on the main roster and if the main Patriot is solid in the ring, some development from tagging with the boss.

Asaemon provided me with some his great mask renders on a blank background, which I have converted to JPG (small black border, white background) and they actually look really solid in the game. Asaemon was even kind enough to create some really nice looking Patriot masks that I will use for this (they are in his thread, check them out).

Now, I think I've settled on the main Patriot - Chris Harris. He was on the WCW roster at the end. He should have decent potential. He can play a babyface. He's fairly raw at this point, but I figured I would stash him in development until after September as the tragedy of 9/11 would make this kind of character impactful. By then, he could/should have in the ring skills to be pushable.

What I'm still deciding on - and what I'd like some suggestions on - is who else would make good options to bring in as part of the Patriot stable and later on have unmask? With his straight edge lifestyle, Punk could "Open his eyes" to the reality of America and become disenfranchised with the country. Turning on the stable and becoming the "Straight Edge Saviour", and can turn on Harris because he tried to pull the wool over his eyes. If you like you could have Punk become slowly disenfranchised and act heelish, maybe Harris finally gets a shot at the World Title and Punk screws him. Maybe bring in 2 more guys to act as Punk's goons to help him build a Straight Edge Society to ride to the top of the card.

Some fantastic suggestions here. Thanks folks!

I could end up using a bunch of them, TBH. The idea is the primary American Patriot (Harris) is a permanent part of the upper card, and he always has younger patriots. Some will leave on their own, unmasking, and others will turn on him and he can feud with them. So it might be possible to rotate 6 or 8 prospects through each year. The intent is to give them variations on the Patriot name - Powerhouse Patriot, Dragon Patriot, Red Patriot, etc.

The mid-2001 start date provides so many options. Too many. Almost all of the early ROH guys and early TNA guys are already working, though some are pretty raw. And plenty more good young prospects coming thru in the 2002-2005 range. The biggest difficulty with this game is probably going to be limiting the number of prospects I hire and put in development. I don't want a massively bloated roster.

If they are not under contract The Naturals, Andy Douglas and Chase Stevens.

A team I've been considering, but hadn't thought of including them as Patriots. With their look, I figured they might stand out on their own enough. I'm likely going to reintroduce the cruiserweight tag titles and they would do well in that division.

What about Dustin Rhodes as The Patriot then he is ready to go from the off. Harris and Storm could be his first protégés. And he was at WCW at the close.

Excellent thought, Woodmeister, and Dustin was actually my first choice to play the Patriot. He is on the WCW roster and he is already good enough and popular enough. To reasons made me reconsider. One, I kinda wanted to give him a good run under his own name. Not necessarily world title level, but definite upper card guy. And the second is his age - he's not old, but just old enough to make me worry that he might decline in a few years.

Part of the intent is to have WCW evolve its product. The actual in-game product is quite similar to TCW, with Realism dropped a notch and Cult upped. Adult-storytelling and characters with a focus on the in-ring product. Something between WCW in the 1988-1989 era and a bigger ROH. The Patriot would be one of the few characters specifically aimed at kids. I kinda wanted to keep Dustin as Dustin because having him work as a serious character would be representative in this new WCW approach. Honestly, a lot of the ideas here come from a diary project I was working on awhile ago so I've gone way more in depth than I need to.

I am definitely considering linking Dustin up with the Patriot, though. Have him be a mentor in the early going, tagging together sometimes. Could even have Dustin don a mask for those matches - a la the Super Machines.

If you go with Danielson it could tie into his 'American Dragon' moniker pretty well.

It would indeed. Dragon Patriot. That one is very tempting.

London and Kendrick are a good choice for your first run, since they can help lift Harris' technical skills and he, in turn, can lift their brawling skills. Plus after the break-up you'll have an incredibly solid tag team to build the division around (and put in the Hall of Fame, because good lord do they deserve it).

Ken Anderson would be another worthy charge for The Patriot, if only to have him be a real merciless glory hound. If you've ever read the Daredevil or Captain America comics, there's this villain named Nuke who's a real brutal piece of work, often doing unspeakable things in the name of "American Exceptionalism". Have Anderson be the Nuke to Patriot's Captain America, beating down opponents long after the match has ended, going overboard in celebrations, that whole thing.

Obviously, WCW being a Georgia-based company, you'll need some southern flavor too . Trevor Rhodes has some pretty lacking athleticism, but he's really young so that can go up with experience. Altar Boy Luke (aka Luke Hawx) is another good choice, he's got well-rounded stats out the gate, is NINETEEN at the start, and has some passable performance skills, and I'm totally not recommending him because we share a home state... *cough*. Anyway, hiring southern workers also gives you the opportunity for them to wear Dixie Flag masks, if only because that's incredibly fitting for the type of show WCW was by 2001.

Other than that, you've got a motley crew of prospects, from Matt Sydal to Matt Striker, Luther Reigns to Tyson Tomko, to choose from. Those were just the ones I can think of that would be nice additions to the stable.

Hadn't considered London & Kendrick. They are likely to get signed. Would make for a solid way to introduce them.

I had thought of having a "miscreant" Patriot or two, but Ken Anderson would fit that quite role quite well. Nice suggestion.

Had not looked at Hawx but he's in the data. Fairly raw but a stint in development could change that.

Chris Sabin? Alex Shelley? BJ Whitmer? Frankie Kazarian? Mark and Jay Briscoe? Roderick Strong? Austin Aries?

Whoa, that's a bunch of great names. I definitely want to sign Sabin & Shelley and it will be hard not to do the MCMG with them. The Briscoe's will definitely form the core of the revamped tag division. Could be a way to bring one of those two teams through.

Roddy Strong was actually under consideration to be the main Patriot but he's a bit too young and green. Almost certain he gets the mask, at least for a spell. Whitmer is a good shout as well. Had not thought of Kazarian. Aries.... I worry that putting him under a masked gimmick like this would limit the natural arrogance he projects so well that would be helpful in getting him over. I guess that's not a game mechanic to worry about, but that was my hesitation.

I think Punk could be a great fit for this and could be a great long term heel after. There is definitely some awesome potential in a storyline there, the conflict of values - traditional versus modern. Punk needs a spell in development for sure - he's pretty raw at this point and a good six months or more in development turns him into a really solid worker, from testing. But I'm torn on what I want to do with him. I don't want to race him up the card too quickly. This would be one option to introduce him. Another is to have him come through the Second City Saints - Colt (who I see as a possible key player, though not necessarily entirely in-ring) and Ace Steel. A third option is to align him with Raven for a time. Raven is my own steal from the WWF (with a bit of backstory) and I figure I might give him a Flock for a time. Having Punk be a minion that turns on Raven, allowing a recreation of their ROH feud, would be fun to book. In truth, I could do all three options - he comes through with Raven, turns and feuds, then aligns with the Patriots (though not necessarily under the mask), before forming the Saints because he has to have his own thing. That could be his first two years in the company, to be honest.

Thanks again, gents. Love the suggestions and lots help. Anyone have more, keep em coming.

Starting my project with CZCW. To bolster the roster and spend the first couple of years making the Coastal Zone the place where the best indie stars want to be involved in... not just for people to start to make name then leave.

I like a good story to book around and i think the tried and tested evil Boss comes in and tries to change what the fans and the coastal zone legends love about the company.

Boss v the Boys will go on for a few years.

I need a stable name for the Boss's group.? The Business' ? The Reform? The 'Enlightenment'?

The Boss is my user character and will be the big boss to defeat in the group after you'v defeated the other 4 in the group.

The Boss's group will allow me to introduce a big guy into the company, just one as the muscle and a big obstacle for the classic light weights to overcome. The muscle I've not decided on but probably Findlay..

There is a young guy who I've brought in that will mesh well character wise who will be the first hurdle- Damian Dastardly

Along with them 3 I'll probably have Going Coastal (California Love machine and Frankie Boy Hernandes as my tag threat.

Cali Love machine with e positioned as my Number 2 an the last hurdle before reaching my user. This should get Cali over as a major threat and hopefully put him in the running for the title down the line.

The main guys who will be against the Boss will be guys like Frankie Perez, Masked Cougar,Fox ,Remmy Sky (if he can keep it together), Air Attack Weasel ( used to give the lower guys on the Boss group wins)

Hope fully Acid, Insane machine, Snap dragon can come in for a show or two to represent the old guard.

I'm planning on having the feud in chapters, the introduction of the group over the first few months with their intent being shown.

Then chapter 2 of the old guard trying to overcome the boss as individuals and realising that maybe doing it alone isn't the way forward.

Chapter 3 is the guys learning to trust each other and tring to gather momentum and gain an advantage with the edge starting to go their way

Chapter 4 - The set back for the old guard when things start to fall apart with an injury and a betrayal.

Chapter 5- the regroup- With the old guard lower in numbers, new faces come in to the mix, who fit the fast paced coastal style. Proving themselves good enough to help overcome the boss

Chapter 6- Things start pulling around when inured guys returns and the new faces start to make a difference.

chapter 7- ??

All i've got so far but with 3 or 4 months per chapter i've got t bare bones to get m through the first couple of years.

Hello, sorry to jump in and change things but I am trying to find help with booking matches and I hoped this was the right place.

I've been playing the game since 2012 and really got into TEW 2013. I'm going to pick up TEW2016 for sure but I know I need to improve my match booking skills, especially as I seem to stick to one kind of thing and it only gets me as far as almost national! Most of my matches are Open, Work the crowd (for first couple)/All out (for the rest), clean or tainted win with outside interference. It works with the right guys but I want to start using more variety.

I generally book alternating matches and angles, building up to the big main and putting lesser workers at the start after a solid open but I know I don't actually put that much thought into my show. While the match aims for 2016 will change things a lot, I've been trying to get advice on how to:

Organise the match card better

Use different styles of matches

Help give time to develop workers (this one is my main learning aim).

Anyway, in the first of what will be many questions no doubt, I've put together a few show structures that I wanted to use as a starting guide and mix them up from there. Can anyone with the knowledge let me know if I'm getting it or if I am making any obvious mistakes?

I use real world mods, either Ghendi's 2000 mod (I think) as ECW or Fleish's real world mod as FIP so that may give you some idea of the product (I am at work now so can give more info about this later).

I see you use Crown Management (previously known as Perfect Show Theory). Which I don't tend to use, so I can't really help you too much there. However, your show modelling looks okay from a basic formatting perspective. One thing I would consider, especially with ECW, is more angles. You should have guys who can talk, plus some attractive women. Strong angles can help the overall show grade, and even carry a show in the case of a Sports Entertainment promotion. With almost any promotion I run, I try max out the amount of angles I can use.

Yeah, this is something I generally fail on. Especially for ECW I need to ramp the sex appeal up. At least the formatting is somewhere close to respectable!

Thanks for your feedback!

I am planing on also doing a diary here on the forums. As my work schedule is very busy I usually spend my time with small companies and have settled on either AAA or QAW. Does anyone have any tips on booking these companies and trying to take them to cult status?

I prefer QAW because its product has more flavor. I don't like pure sports entertainment.

Getting QAW to cult is fairly easy. You can ride the Sweetheart-Janson storyline to mid-Regional before it really starts to get boring. It really depends on your personal preference. I have my favorites so I often go out and sign a bunch of workers for various purposes. But the default roster is good enough to get you to mid-Regional. At that point, you might be looking for workers to spice things up. Your Achilles heel as QAW is psychology. You don't have many workers with a good amount of it. AAA does. Easy enough to fix that (though it'll be pricey).

My advice is, if you're not familiar with the workers, learn them first. There's no use in me giving lists of names that mean nothing to you. Once that's done, you should have an idea of which product suits you (and your roster) better. It also depends on your game settings. For example, it's annoying to me that workers in Mexico refuse to take a quick flight to Houston to work for a company running a more frequent schedule than their home promotion (CILL & OLLIE run monthly. My QAW runs weekly plus a monthly event) so I often edit the women in Mexico to be available in the US (the 'passport' cheat is too far reaching and shifts the game a ton). That means you have access to more workers who fit your product. Also, while some people heavily favor veterans, I go in more for young talent I can mold so that make your decisions different as well. Also, in this edition, I'm keeping a list of workers who are potential owners and/or bookers and trying to avoid signing them (so CWWF and WINNOW have eligible women to take them over when they debut). Unless I need one for my dev promotion, that is.

Anyway, AAA is pretty much plug & play in this edition. You can run it like a poor man's WWE and it'll work fine. QAW requires a bit more finesse due to the lack of psychology but is easier to blitz, at least for me. I tweak the product (Modern to Key Feature, Daredevil to Medium) but that's just a personal preference.

Like they actually did. But take someone pretty good on the microphone - Shane Douglas, Raven, the like - and let them talk. I have a really simple Promo angle I have used since TEW 2010. Its Worker A rated on Entertainment, talking about Worker B (rated on Popularity, off-screen). Two other versions add in an interviewer - one rated on Microphone, the other on Sex Appeal. Your dead standard hype promo angle, whether its in-ring, backstage interview set, post-match MMA-style. I have a similar set for tag teams. Works fantastic. With a national level promotion and a main event worker who can talk, its a guaranteed B+ and typically an A grade for the angle. Given the companies you are booking, you might not hit that level, but it should score strong with something similar.

Anyone ever tried making a tag team promotion? With a main event tag title and a Midcard tag title. Having 80 percent tag matches, 15 percent singles (for feuds between former tag teams or while one is injured) and 5 percent 4v4 to pit two face teams vs two heel teams. I always go all out on coming up with tag team names and finishers and booking them the right way. So has anyone tried this and had luck with it?

Have Anderson be the Nuke to Patriot's Captain America, beating down opponents long after the match has ended, going overboard in celebrations, that whole thing.

Gimme a red...

Ran it as a league, with the different teams grouped into camps. Pretty sure it was booked on EWR and on a fairly recently real world update. If it can work in EWR, no reason it couldn't work in TEW. Would make for an interesting project.
