At the risk of sounding like a fanboy, what part of the last decade or so of great games that get better and better with every incarnation makes you people question Adam at this point?

I'm pretty sure we should trust that he knows what he's doing and baseless complaints about a game we haven't touched yet is kind of mean.

I may have phrased it poorly. I was saying that almost all situations could be handled by one of two situations: Either it will be a specific date (e.g. December 25 for a Christmas event), *or* it could be the Xth Yday of Z (e.g. the 3rd Sunday of July).

Just look at this month. If I schedule an annual event on March 22nd -- do I want it to always be the 22nd, or do I want it to be the 4th Friday, or do I want it to be the next-to-last Friday? Or do I just want it to be 'around' the 22nd, and the actual day is flexible? There are ways around it, but always being on the same day is much easier to program...and you just can't do that using a real-world calendar.

All that said, I was disappointed when the series moved away from Real-World, and I'd love to see it go back.

Why would need to set a date for an event to begin with?

Held on: Day (Monday-sun)

Qualifers: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or last

You could let the user switch the event to a calendar day if there was a reason to always have an event on a specific date (New Years Day maybe?)

This doesn't seem complicated.

I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere yet and I hope I'm up to date on the new features of the game so sorry if this has been clarified and I've missed it.

Within the new contract system, is there a way to restrict your workers from working with specific companies?

For example, I'm thinking of the TNA/ROH, AEW/ROH things like NXTUK/WOS situations where a worker can work for other companies but not that one. It's something that seems to happen more and more and I would be a fan of that being seen in the game.

But it would be better if, rather than basing the restriction only on specific company or relationship, we can have the option of setting broader or more variable scopes in the restrictions, such as not allowing your worker to work for another company that is above a certain size, or for another company that has TV/broadcaster exposure, etc.

I feel like the calendar would be one of the first things Adam looked at when rebuilding the game from scratch as it is mentioned/requested so often. I also think if it wasn’t possible he would have shut down the conversation already and let people know that it still wasn’t possible. I don’t really mind the 48 week system, I generally stick to a regular schedule and the 4-week structure works with that.

Having said that, I’d love a proper calendar, it’d be much more immersive. Like someone else said, the option to say an event must be on a certain day of the week, and then either the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, last (which would be 4th or 5th depending on month) week of the month, or a specific date regardless of day, that’d be a nice touch.

I guess we wait and see. It’d probably be the biggest feature reveal due to the history that’s gone with it.

One of my favorite parts of the game is watching stuff, and one of my favorite things to watch is indy shows, so I'm hyped for this!

As for a calendar, sure it'd be nice to have a real one, but at this point I've gotten used to the 48-week thing and don't particularly mind it. Took me a while though.

So if Adam is changing he should just already make an entry about it. It would be an important change, but I sure hope not the biggest it is gonna get, or the game would be disappointing.

On a different note, I do hope the contract negotiating part is improved. Money still is the most important factor in general that moves workers, but, contrary to the attitude era, workers seem to care a lot more about push, creative, title wins and other perks. The rise of AEW is showing this. Or situations like the revival, ambrose, Maria and mike, Batista wanting to return only to face HHH, the usos apparently trying to force their way out after some promises of good booking by AEW and some rumoured matches with The bucks. And so on.

Love the changes to the indy events. I have quite a few lower levels indies in my mod anyway, but the fact that contracted talent can appear on these different random events is a great touch, puts these random shows on the same level as the "local promotions" (or whatever they'll be called in 2020, I can't remember now...) or higher and makes the world feel more realistic. It's always fun to hire someone and see they've had matches already since the game started.

While money is still a big deal I feel nowadays some workers care much more about dates, workload, pushes, booking and perks than they used to.
Yes I hope incentives play a much bigger role in negotiating. Would like to see new ones added along with promises and clauses. I don’t want to just generically offer the highest amount of money. On the other side, I would like to see workers demand certain things. I don’t think Kenny Omega would even talk to WWE unless creative control was given before a price is even negotiated.

And if pushes are truly gone, maybe more emphasis on promising roles like “major star” Icon” “gatekeeper” and things like promising to keep someone strong (keep momentum or perception above a certain number) or promise main event (book no lower than the second to last match on a card)

It would be great if we had an unlimited source of names for it to choose from but considering small Indy shows usually run once a month if lucky, seeing (insert random name here) every month or week depending on FA size in that area, it wouldn’t be as immersive as Independent Show from (area) because that could speak of multiple companies each time instead of the same one if that makes sense.

The new Indy shows adds a lot to the game world. Anything to keep people working and gaining skills, even when they are unemployed I'm all for.

I personally wouldn't use an example of the games changing calendar systems as my reasoning for why the game isn't going to change it's calendar system, but maybe that's just me.

The example was showing you that he used the 365-day calendar once before and removed it because it didn't work. The current format has been used for 15 years and clearly isn't broken, as you suggested it needed to be fixed.

I agree. And if they are totally gone, the new system needs to be adjusted to make these ideas work.
