TEW2020 Discussion Thread

<p>Not sure why I found it funny when Adam talked about limiting a stable to only 18. As if that was a draw back, how could anyone manage a 20 person stable? Is there such a thing in real life?</p><p> </p><p>

To me the optimal amount of members in a stable is four, maybe five tops (The Dangerous Alliance). Once you go beyond that it ends up looking like the Bullet Club, Aces and Eights, or the NWO. </p><p> </p><p>

Far too many members and way too watered down. </p><p> </p><p>

Also, I think it is really cool that there will be pictures of who is in the stable.</p>

So I just got back from deployment and so I am catching up with the developer thread. One question I have so far is about tickets. Is the ticket pricing for the whole event, or can you mix and match.

For example, using a real world mod, if I was booking Wrestlmania, I could have premium seating (for the front rows) mixed with normal for the seats in the back. I think this would be a more realistic approach then having the entire arena as premium, cheap etc.

I think it’ll just be for the whole event but Adam would have to chime in. It’s a big step in the right direction, but I think in order to do row by row there would need to be more of an interactive graphics overhaul of the user interface. There would have to be pre defined venue layouts of varying capacities to replicate everything from a small rec center and theatre to football, baseball, cricket, and basketball arenas because each section would need to be represented in order to fully control the ticketing.

I love when the game delves deeper into micromanagement but some people don’t, so there would need to be a setting(like how merchandise is done in 2016) where you could set it to custom for an event and then really dive into it. It would be a lot to code for a feature not everyone will truly appreciate.

I'd really like to be able to promise a worker something in return for jobbing, taking a bump, etc. It stinks to have to make a guy mad when you take a belt off him just so you can give him a higher belt. If you were able give something directly in return, like promising to put a better belt on him within 60 days or give him a storyline with someone whose popularity is 90+ or something like that then I think it would add a new dimension. Giving bonuses or time off is limiting.

And on the same topic, what if you could tell the worker the long term plan ahead of time so he isnt mad when something happens. "We're looking to put this title on you for X amount of time" or "this storyline is going to end with you losing" and then they can accept it or ask to change things before starting it.

And adding this to the angle screen would be really helpful, too.</p>

<p>I like today's features, especially removing the limit, but I'll admit I was hoping for the addition of AI companies coming to you for requests for loans or talent exchanges. That would be a fun random incident from time to time with friendly companies and/or alliance partners. </p><p> </p><p>

Still thrilled with the game so far, for the record! (I feel I have to say that make sure it doesn't sound like I'm not still blown away by a lot of the reveals...)</p>

That's the heart and soul of the game. My dream TEW is one that allows me to go absolutely balls to the wall insane with WCW - having the entire company be literally two rivaling nWo stables; paying low card jobbers a million dollars a month and never using them; multiple face and heel turns per night, back and forth; the World title changing hands every hour of a three hour TV show; crazy matches, dumb gimmicks, you name it. And all the while the company has unlimited resources.</p><p> </p><p> That's my dream TEW experience. A lot of the stuff we can already do, but I want more.</p>

As someone who loves to run annual large scale Indy shows featuring workers from many different companies, the removal of the loan limit is 100% my selling point for this TEW version!

I like to start my own company and run an annual tournament in December featuring workers from all around the world, with the winner getting a title shot a couple months down the line (basically my Royal Rumble). The alliance feature is pretty crucial for this. The loan restriction basically guaranteed that the winner was going to be one of my workers, however, as I have the winner appear as much as possible to build the match.</p>

Head / Body Images

In one of the development journals it was noted that some UI/Interface elements would borrow from the MW3 game.

In MW3, there are separate folders for faces/full body images and larger images are utilized in various areas of the game-play.

Wondering if there's any chance TEW 2020 will make use of additional worker imagery to make the game more visually immersive?

They could, but most just don't use them as it increases the time it takes to cut packs. Plus, it's a lot harder to find indie and up-starts in those kinda shots. I'd prefer Adam didn't implement this as it would just make indie workers less desirable and they are the lifeblood of long-term games.

<p>I was really hoping that I would wake up today (April 1) and Adam would post that TEW20 wasn't coming out until like 2021 and then by the end of the day he would post another saying </p><p> </p><p>

"April Fools the game is coming out today!!!!" </p><p> </p><p>

And then we would all celebrate and make Adam a God and all live happily ever after.</p><p> </p><p>

Unfortunately, it didn't happen <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
