I don't know, playing as a manager sounds like it would be pretty fun, kind of like this old boxing game I played where you would negotiate contracts for your boxers and develop fight strategies for them. I could see that style of game working for a professional wrestling setting pretty well, with you having a stable of clients and your prestige in the wrestling world being affected by how the wrestlers you manage perform.

To clarify: I'm not saying that it wouldn't be fun to have a mode where you have some sort of managerial role, I was just saying that the games currently do not have any such mode, and are quite explicitly about playing as an active wrestler - therefore complaining that the game doesn't let you play as a non-wrestler is a bit nonsensical as there's nothing that would suggest that it should in the first place.

Therefore, if the player decides to pick one, it assumes you have a good reason for such a decision and automatically turns them into an active wrestler - as it did for you.

very Interested in WS3 especially with the new features!

a year or so ago I first tried WS2 as the concept looked very good, I tried the demo but i couldn't for the life of me work out how to actually win so that put me off from buying the game.

When I first noticed the announcement for WS3 i downloaded the WS2 demo and gave it another try, this time I worked out how to actually win.

Certainly looking forward to trying the demo of WS3 with a strong view to buying.

Just need some clarification on how the promotions work?

Instead of promotions like in TEW is it just a set of leagues in each country? with working your way up untill you reach the top league and win there titles?

Or am I missing something?

League mode works the same way as other sports, with points for victories and a schedule.

Just a curious note: are there many here who have 1366x768 as their highest resolution? I figured these days (and even the last 2-3 years or so) with screens being larger and systems being more sophisticated that screens would go higher than that. I only had a 20" monitor 3 years ago and was working at 1600x900 and 1920x1080 fairly routinely, and my 3 1/2 year old laptop did 1600x900 as a highest resolution.

I have a 19" that runs at 1366 x 768; I don't see the need for a larger monitor. I generally only sit maybe 2' away from the monitor anyway. I find that when the res is too high, the letters that are on screen are almost impossible to read, maybe it's the fact that my eyesight isn't that good anymore.

I wonder how many actually play the games on notebooks. I presume the limitations are for that reason only?

I've been playing on 1680x and now 1920x for years. It's the standard desktop size. Not that it's been annoying, as you tend to play the games in-between other desktop activities anyway, but it'd be nice to have the 1920x1080 option in the future.

I play at 1366x768. Any higher than that and the text starts to hurt my eyes. I also don't have a particularly high end machine, since most of my bigger games I just play on consoles. And my staples like TEW all work fine on this computer. The higher you set the minimum resolution or graphics for a game, the more people you lock out from being able to play it as not everyone stays completely up to date all the time. :)

Will Rookie to Legend have some sort of multi advance to deal with the near unbearable speed of last game.

I just played WS2 last night for old times sake and it took 2 and a half hours to wrestle 2 matches. I think I gained a total of .4 points .

So naturally I'd assume it would probably take me several days worth of game time to even reach main event level in a regional company at this rate

The speed of matches, by their nature, are exactly the same as previous games - it's a turn based strategy game after all, I can't speed up a player's choice. I can't see how a 'multi advance' would work within the WreSpi concept.

That said, a match with a low level character normally takes about 5 or 10 minutes, I'm not sure why you'd be taking 5 times that length of time per match.

Based on your posts, I really don't think this is a game that you're going to enjoy, you might want to just skip it.

A minor one. It's set one year further forward than TEW2013, but other than roster changes there haven't been any huge changes or new additions as WreSpi isn't really set up in a way that encourages that. My intention is to do a separate CornellVerse update for TEW2013 in the new year instead.
