Adam Ryland
This thread is specifically for players to discuss anything to do with booking or creativity in TEW2016 - this could be asking for opinions on who you should push, asking for tips on getting people over, requesting that other user's give you goals or rules for you to follow in your game, or just wanting to get ideas to jump-start your creativity. This combines the "Creative Has Something For You" and "Give Me Rules For A Game" threads into one place.
TEWFan
So let'd get this started. I have never seriously booked USPW for any long term game because it was too hard for me to get decent/good grades but with the new system I am doing decent enough (still a lot of room for improvement) that I am tossing around ideas for a long term game. So, how do you guys book Steve Frehley? I am thinking of approaching the storyline with Nicky Champion in a Bret Hart/Steve Austin way with a double turn at the end. With Champion growing stale and his "white meat babyface" character being obsessed with recovering the title, while Frehley just likes to kick-ass and hurt people. Frehley will keep kicking Champion's behind while Champion keeps coming back for more until finally he resorts to cheating to beat him for the belt. Is a "Stone Cold-lite" (minus the cursing, we are Family Friendly after all!) work as an approach for Frehley? How was he portrayed in past games? (I never played SWF). Darbicus
Better decision: Have Slaughter beat Warrior at the Royal Rumble for the title and go on to drop the belt to Hogan at Mania, or have Warrior retain and defend the belt against Savage in a double main event at Mania. Another way you can play it is to take a page from the John Cena/Brock Lesnar feud of 2014, Frehley playing Lesnar and Champion playing Cena. Book Frehley as an absolute unstoppable beast, the only guy to pin the top guy, leaving Champion badly shaken.
aXminster
So, could anyone help me get into the Cornellverse? I could never get into it but it's time to try again. Which company should I choose to start a save with?
tywood2022
Honestly, if you are really committed to getting into the C-Verse, I would start with a small company and just observe what happens with the larger companies before trying to book one. It helped me understand them a lot better in 2013.

He used to start out as a babyface for SWF; I always thought of him as a similar type of babyface to how Sheamus was portrayed from 2011 through to 2014. A hard hitting, powerful brawler that did more fighting than talking.
Devilb0y
So, could anyone help me get into the Cornellverse? I could never get into it but it's time to try again. Which company should I choose to start a save with? I would previously say CGC, now I don't know! The key is not having an overwhelming roster and booking a style of wrestling you like (performance vs popularity essentially), because you're going to have to spend some time getting to know your guys before you're comfortable with the company. SWF still look like a good bet for a popularity fed as they're financially powerful and have a good roster but it requires work in some areas (main event scene is full of people in their late 30s / early 40s). 21CW could be another option as they don't have any real competition and have the best wrestler in the world (Tommy Cornell) on their books, although booking in Britain could feel weird for some people. And for performance I'd still go NOTBW. They're full of old guys but the Stones and co still churn out amazing matches on a weekly basis. JMike
So I'm doing a 2002 scenario and I founded TNA myself. I hired a few people, and one of them is Brian Lawler. I have two gimmicks for him but I can't choose which one. The first is in typical TNA fashion, where he has a TNA-ed up Grand Master Lawler or Grand Master Brian or something like that. The second is of color commentator and occasional wrestler Brian "The Prince" Lawler, and obvious parody of his father. Which do I do? Romans_Brass_Shovel
Thinking about playing as Jack Bruce and taking over head booking duty at 21CW. Putting Cornell and Bruce in a long feud to skyrocket the company. I've never played as a European promotion and I've never booked Tommy Cornell. Is this a good plan or is there a reason Bruce won't work well for that company?
Benjamin4011
So, could anyone help me get into the Cornellverse? I could never get into it but it's time to try again. Which company should I choose to start a save with? All Canada Pro Wrestling is a simple, small fed, I had a great time booking them. The only drawback is their style doesn't allow much for storylines or wrestling variety, but for myself, they were a great way to start a save before my character moved on to a bigger promotion. Bigpapa42
A bit of a presumptuous question, but I figure it can't hurt to ask. So I've been messing around with Genadi's 2001 WCW Survives mod. Still a lot of work I want to do, but I'm starting to plan. The intent is obviously to run WCW, which will start at Cult, shorn of most of its top stars, and now owned by Shane McMahon. The intent is to build around some of the WCW youngsters, ECW leftovers, and the host of young talent on the indy scene by mid-2001. An idea I used with PWI in the ThunderVerse is to introduce an old school masked patriot wrestler, under an American mask. The main Patriot would be somebody relatively known but solid in the ring and obviously American. Ideally, they would become an upper midcard mainstay but not necessarily ever become a main eventer. The main role would be using the Patriot gimmick as a way to introduce new young talent, as the main Patriot would always have one or two young protégés, also working under similar mask. After a time, the youngsters would unmask and work under their own character. The youngster gets some help building popularity on the main roster and if the main Patriot is solid in the ring, some development from tagging with the boss. Asaemon provided me with some his great mask renders on a blank background, which I have converted to JPG (small black border, white background) and they actually look really solid in the game. Asaemon was even kind enough to create some really nice looking Patriot masks that I will use for this (they are in his thread, check them out). Now, I think I've settled on the main Patriot - Chris Harris. He was on the WCW roster at the end. He should have decent potential. He can play a babyface. He's fairly raw at this point, but I figured I would stash him in development until after September as the tragedy of 9/11 would make this kind of character impactful. By then, he could/should have in the ring skills to be pushable. What I'm still deciding on - and what I'd like some suggestions on - is who else would make good options to bring in as part of the Patriot stable and later on have unmask? They need to be American (though race doesn't matter), decently talented (or at least can be developed), moderately athletic, and available in the mid-2001 to 2003 range. A lot of available talent who are certain to be stars don't really need help being introduced (CM Punk, Samoa Joe, and the like). I considered using James Storm in this way (also on the WCW roster at the end) but I think his cowboy gimmick could have legs on its own. Bryan Danielson is also a maybe as, again, he can stand on his own. So suggestions on who I can use along with Harris?

Poet Justice
I'm trying to figure how far I should push Mikey James. He's a little small for a main eventer, as well as the fact that he lacks the mic skills, but he's fantastic in ring and he has very, very good SQ. I can envision him as a legit martial artist which can compensate for his size, and he's still pretty young despite seemingly being in the series for like three decades. Any ideas what feuds I can insert him into?

Plus after the break-up you'll have an incredibly solid tag team to build the division around (and put in the Hall of Fame, because good lord do they deserve it).

Ken Anderson would be another worthy charge for The Patriot, if only to have him be a real merciless glory hound. If you've ever read the Daredevil or Captain America comics, there's this villain named Nuke who's a real brutal piece of work, often doing unspeakable things in the name of "American Exceptionalism". Have Anderson be the Nuke to Patriot's Captain America, beating down opponents long after the match has ended, going overboard in celebrations, that whole thing.

Obviously, WCW being a Georgia-based company, you'll need some southern flavor too . Trevor Rhodes has some pretty lacking athleticism, but he's really young so that can go up with experience. Altar Boy Luke (aka Luke Hawx) is another good choice, he's got well-rounded stats out the gate, is NINETEEN at the start, and has some passable performance skills, and I'm totally not recommending him because we share a home state... *cough*. Anyway, hiring southern workers also gives you the opportunity for them to wear Dixie Flag masks, if only because that's incredibly fitting for the type of show WCW was by 2001.

Other than that, you've got a motley crew of prospects, from Matt Sydal to Matt Striker, Luther Reigns to Tyson Tomko, to choose from. Those were just the ones I can think of that would be nice additions to the stable.
sincerenoble
With the release of TEW 2016 this is going to be my first real foray into the C-Verse world. I am planing on also doing a diary here on the forums. As my work schedule is very busy I usually spend my time with small companies and have settled on either AAA or QAW. Does anyone have any tips on booking these companies and trying to take them to cult status?
