[RELEASE] - Cornellverse 1997 / CV97

Recommended Posts

What are some of the biggest areas of work or any advice you could hand on when importing a mod over? Was there any unexpected area of work?

Just going through everyone to set things... there's already a thread in the main forums that has gone through most of the things covered and I don't want to keep repeating things. :)

Will you update the Helpful Info Document with these omissions, so we can go in and add them if their existence becomes appropriate (i.e. Victoria Stone gets pregnant)?

In order to speed up development (as I've gone through most of the things I need) I've stopped updating some documents and haven't included them in this download. I might do something later, but at this point I'm concentrating on the other mod I want to make (while doing tweaks here) so that I can play the game more... I spent too much of TEW13 modding, I intend to spend a lot of time playing and writing for TEW16. :)

That's understandable, we can figure it out ourselves. Thanks.

I remember having a blast playing the first version of this mod. Just one question... I noticed all the 4 East coast wars promotions have weekly events. Does this work or will I end un bankrupt after the first month of my playthrough (XFW)?

Also wasn't Kurt Laramee supposed to be on XFW instead of DAVE?

Just some questions I have

Laramee did used to be in XFW in older versions of the mod but the canon Cornellverse histories have him in DAVE from 1996 so he moved. That change happened in the TEW13 version of the data, so he's been there for a while now. :)

As for events, in testing the warring companies have had varying degrees of success with their shows (which have also been there since TEW13) in the TEW16 data. DAVE has been almost universally successful while each of the others have managed to do well in some saves and die in others (usually being bought out by the SWF). As a player, it's up to you how you want to compete though, it certainly isn't as easy to survive in there as it used to be. :D

I'll start a thread in Tech Support to pass that on to Adam, is something he'd need to look at. He'll probably want more information though, and ask if you are using the initial data I posted or the v1.02 version I updated when he added the patch. :)

Liberty goes by James Justice I think, so does the picture file. Big Cat Brandon is the picture folder now as Brandon James and is the default database too.

Thank you again Derek. This is by far my favorite mod. I played TEW a lot since 2010, but never got into dynasty writing until I played CV97. I wrapped up my TEW13 dynasty and was hoping for this mod to be available for the new game. I already have an idea for a new dynasty and will start exploring the mod in TEW16 shortly.

Thanks again

Very minor grammar issue in DAVE's promotional bio. The first sentence uses "it's" when it needs the possessive "its". I think I'll give DAVE a shot, as I loved mid '90s ECW (for the most part - some of it has not aged well at all!).

Edit: one more thing for DAVE, Big Cat Brandon's missing a picture for his contract.

Man, I wanna play with this data...

But I'm just giving Cverse a shot for the first time, and it's hard enough to take in an entire universe without having to take in the Good Ol' Days at the same time.

I will be hitting this up in the future, though, buh-lee-dat!

Honestly when I bought TEW 07 is when I played my first C Verse game. It was a small created promotion that only used unemployed people. When 2008 came out I played a lot as USPW but then when this got released I played it non stop. If anything this is a great base to learn your C Verse history.

Phil Vibert is in his prime full on mad scientist of pro wrestling. Sam Strong has broken away from the SWF and he's only his final leg as a draw. Rip Chord is in his final run as a worker. Tommy Cornell is JUST starting out and already has issues with Eisen and could break away from him at any time. Liberty and Ricky Dale Johnson are young up and coming future stars. I could go on and on but so many of the "legends" in the later games are just starting out future stars or are in the prime of their careers now. Its so awesome to go back and replay things like that and as I said you learn so much history along the way. "Hey I know that guy" "Hey I know that guy".

Definitely going to give this a long overdue try this weekend! Have never played the '97 C-verse, I'm sure it will give me a better understanding of the current "legends" in our games. Heck, I might even mark out a bit from seeing the game world sorta like it was in TEW '04 at some point in a long save.

Cheers for all the hard work and dedication to this series and the board DerekB! :)

Derek, thanks again for putting out this mod. It's one of been one of my favorites for years! :D

As I'm prepping for the full release and the start of my next NEO diary (which will be using this mod), a weird sentence came out of my mouth: "If I don't sign Craig Green, I'm screwed."

Caught some other oddities. Organic bios where one half of a relationship doesn't start the game debuted and so the other half is always labeled as Mito Miwa.

He is simultaneously engaged to Tommy Cornell, married to Tom Gilmore and tagging with Duane Stone and Alex DeColt. Busy guy. :D
