<p>So finished the first month and made a huge profit. I think it was $37K. Lol but better by miles than losing 100K per week. Things went pretty much the same for the most part. Solid shows - hitting B, close to B+. Most top workers who are involved in storylines have gone up a grade in popularity, or thereabouts. </p><p> </p><p>

Right now, the weekly touring show is helping to keep the finances solid. May drop it when I can. Its not massively burdensome to book - like I mentioned before, I just worry about putting most of the written contract workers on it each week. But if I wanna open a developmental territory before too long, it also makes sense to keep making money rather than dropping the tour show, then spending the money to open a child company with workers to populate it. </p><p> </p><p>

Creating a tangled web of positive relationships by using positive meddling on workers with positive personalities. Also trying to avoid overpushing some of the younger guys to avoid having their personalities tank. So far so good.</p>

<p>Bigpapa42's gimmick list for PPVs has encouraged me to try to do more, while not just copying his list. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

For instance, I'm heading towards CGC's Last Man Standing (September 2017). I got the obvious LMS match headlining, which will be the second encounter between the DeColt Brothers, Jack & Ricky. Spoiler alert, Alex returns from the vicious beatdown Ricky delivered to his big brother to help Jack win. More of a distraction than interference by Alex, Alex can't bring himself to attack his little brother despite what happened. Not yet, at least! </p><p> </p><p>

But just to spice things up, I'm setting up a 10 Man Mayhem Match, where in which the winner will challenge CGC World Heavyweight Champion Jay Chord later on in the night. Last man standing gets the title shot! </p><p> </p><p>

Kirk Jameson will be getting the opportunity, but sadly, longtime rival Roger Cage will be costing him his opportunity after Jameson made Cage tap to win the Mayhem Match. Cage, by the way, just won back the Canadian Title from Jameson in a Triple Threat without ever pinning Jameson. </p><p> </p><p>

Roger Cage is pretty much my Miz. Not really excellent at anything, but great at literally everything. He's the king of my midcard division. If I keep on playing this game, he's going to have like 10 Canadian Title reigns. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

I'm not too big on having all gimmick PPVs..but I may look to make something to add a bit more pizzazz to the shows..but just right now I have:

Elimination - Probably like most people some kind of Survivor Series esq PPV matches..Not necessarily all matches are 3v3.

DeColt Wrestlefestival - I'd picture this as Summerslam but kind of in the Spring...Family Fun atmosphere the whole week...Someone did a diary with maybe a Fair/Carnival? Maybe Self's? I can't remember. From a Booking Standpoint I have ended and started big stories here.

Ultimate Showdown - I kind of see this as Wrestlemania but with my schedule already being so heavy early in the year I may toy with the idea of a Tournament of some kind..I do like a round robin idea.

That's about it although I may try to do a KotR straight up tournament for Survival of the Fittest...but I think it would be more in line with getting a King Gimmick than an actual title shot...maybe both.

Anyways I just booked DWF Day 1 and Day 2 of 2017...1 Year in. Both got a 91 Rating...Highlighted and built around Ricky turning on Jack...The Breakup of High Concept....and Edd Stone Claiming to be a DeColt and facing Sean McFly..who was brought in by Alex DeColt.

This did make my roster very heel heavy on top..with Ricky...Edd and Gargantuan all around 90s...but I'm hoping the up coming year I'll be able to finally push guy(or the final push they need) to get over the hump...guys like Price...Dunn..Ross Henry....at least on the face side.

Joey Poison and Davis Wayne Newton got a nice bump from feuding with the DeColts after a nice run with a tag titles...and Newton could probably just need one really good feud to be a full fledged Main Eventer..but they have Excellent Tag Chemistry....so he may just stay at a notch below for now.

After having a rough year kayfabe wise Ian Identity and my UC finally won the Tag Titles and carried them into and out of The Festival. Would still like a bit more time and development so they'll probably lose them shortly to either The Montreal Mafia or a team of Giants.

Also my favorite news of all...although I haven't planned anything just yet is...I signed KC Glenn away from BHOTWG...So I basically win the game. Very Un-CGC but I couldn't help myself and pass up the opportunity. I'm thinking he'll be a AJ Styles/Kenny Omega type babyface...just thinking of renaming him.

Financially with the Industry and Economy still raising 50 and 28 respectively...I just made almost 200k in March 2017 with about 72 Pop across Canada. So with money starting to roll in I may look to get a bit more guys on Written Deals and maybe even open up a small Dev Company..as I'm closing in on National..with just a few more points of Importance in Saskatchewan.

<p>I'm thrilled, because I was just able to sign Edd Stone to a pretty generic contract without a fight from TCW. I guess that tells you how much TCW is struggling in my CGC game. Pretty much, the only star they have left is Aaron Andrews.</p><p> </p><p>

Perfect timing, too, because I was just thinking I needed a Cruiserweight for my Jay Chord-led stable called The True Born (hint hint, it's a Legacy rip off). And there ya go, Edd just falls in my hands.</p><p> </p><p>

Now...if only Freddy Huggins was available for negotiations... <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

So through the second month. Made about $150K in total so far, so at least money is going up. I will probably put a few more workers on written contracts soon but avoid opening the developmental territory just yet. The few workers I've signed who I'd like to develop long term but just aren't ready to do much with yet are almost all on PPA deals so I can use them here and there. It just slows the process down a bit, but there isn't really a need to rush talent at this point.

Seeing popularity grinding up fairly quickly on Jack, Ricky, and Price. The higher popularity of the DeColts means that they are kept strong, so they have high momentum, which makes popularity gains easier. Gargantuan is going up too, but I'm trying to be careful because his skills need some work too. The popularity gains mean its easier to get good show grades (yay) but creating more of a popularity gap from those very top workers to the fringe main eventers slash upper mid talent.

My main groupings of young talent that I've signed are an un-named loose stable of Davis Wayne Newton, Ernest Youngman, and Greg Gauge. Newton has moved up in popularity quicker than I expected and he's helping the others quite a bit. They are staples on the B show. Have a couple of younger babyfaces - Kirk Jameson and Princeton Pryce - but they aren't getting pushed too hard yet as Skip, Intrepid Ina, and Drake all can move up first. They benefit from a loose association with Price. And then the newest version of the Soldiers of Fortune (Bulldozer Brandon and Findlay renamed) are getting a gradual push and will probably become a key tag team before long.

No titles moved yet. Probably going to take the Canadian title off of Blockbuster before too long, and the tag belts will move too. But Jack might hold onto the world title for quite a while. Gargantuan could be built up to take it off of him, but that would mean some pretty protective booking for the champion. So I'm mulling giving a pretty hard push to Sayid Ali and Greg Black and having one of them take it off of Jack by about mid year. Ali has been renamed to Rhino Drake and I kinda like the thought of giving him a push to take him to the top of the company. A different kind of monster for the DeColt's to face.

Still gotta decide what I'm going to do to make the WrestleFest special in terms of matches.

<p>Guys I can't really explain but Brett Fraser has great chemistry as a tag partner with Chucky Dorrance (re-branded as weaselly hippy Chucky Moonbeam) and I need a team name.</p><p> </p><p>

Also Ian Identity w/a detective gimmick is money, fyi.</p>

  • 2 months later...
For a storyline purpose who could eventually buy CGC and lead it into a new direction?

So off the top...

  1. Adrian Garcia.

  2. Neil Kernahan, the rich Canadian businessman.

  3. If the company were to fall to Regional, my first name would be Jon Jetson.

  4. One of the Eisen brothers, depending on which one inherits the SWF.

  5. Christian Faith is a potential owner with "sports entertainment" as his preference.

  6. If you wanted to edge up the product, Ana Garcia makes sense as she grew up in Canada and loves a more attitude-oriented product.

<p>Fun thought. Depends on how much you want to stick to "canon", at least in terms of who has Business skills and can therefore be a possible owner. If you are willing to edit, it opens it up even more. </p><p> </p><p>

Some options that jump to mind, and apologies for duplicating what others have suggested....</p><p> </p><p>

Christian Faith - a legend</p><p>

Phil Vibert - never got his way as booker....</p><p>

Steve DeColt, Ricky DeColt, Jack DeColt - don't think any start with Business skill but tons of interesting possibilities</p><p>

Edd Stone - why not? </p><p> </p><p>

Almost anyone with a background in SE or with a bigger company could be given some motivation, similar to Sam Strong taking over USPW when it was small and struggling. If he was closer to retirement, Jack Bruce would be fascinating.</p>

The problem with that is that Canada will be dominated by 2 similar work rate promotions. In my head canon, CGC is the real reason why NOTBPW has not had a problem with sports entertainment promotions. It gives Canadian fans their entertainment fix without having to consistently import SWF or USPW to Canada. The DeColts falling apart makes sense given they’re the parallels to the Von Erichs
