Your 2020 plans

Recommended Posts

Adam has said that the broadcasters in 2020 have been overhauled to make internet distribution a much more viable option. I think people forget that when TEW2016 was released a lot of these internet streams were not nearly as viable as they are now.

I can't wait to see what the new internet platform is like, and how it will impact the game and the financials. I hope it's a lot like real life now, but I wonder how exactly payment would work, if it would act like another TV show option by itself or if there's a whole new area for that?

Either way, I'm pretty stoked. As for the OP's question, I'll be starting with the new and improved C-Verse! :D

The new "Attribute System" will allow me to make my characters dynamic and interesting instead of just slider one inch left or right of middle, depending on whether I want the guy/gal to be a little bit of a problem or a little less likely to be one. I set Modern to "Off". I wanted a loud audience without having to be Porn or Hardcore. I do have people who swear in promos, occasional violence, a few horror themed characters. I wonder if in TEW 2020, my ideal setting is "None" because I want the ability to occasionally have a Comedy Match or Technical Masterclass without being obligated to having one every week.</p><p> </p><p> I don't view it as "cheating" to manipulate the product to be 20% workrate, 20% risk injury, loud audience, no mandate of hardcore stuff or porn (I interpret Risque not as porn, but also as Stephen King style Suspense-Horror). That's just the promotion I want - with deep storylines and the ability to run an occasional alt-match type (comedy, sex appeal, technical, etc) without being forced to put a bunch of match types on my show or have fans who hate gimmicks or demand too much violence. I want fans who love gimmicks, prefer Risky Content (doesn't prefer injury risk), and doesn't hate or mandate subtle characters. </p><p> </p><p> So, I will probably find TEW2016 more firiendly as right now there are 3 Ideal Product Settings for me that I always use. I have one for maximum tradeoff, one for minimum reward and minimum requirements, and one for middle of the road, but they all kinda have the same theme and goal. So in this one, I will probably find 2-3 products I like or set them all to "none" if everything with the audience I want requires too much injury or hardcore.</p><p> </p><p> I personally enjoy the perfect show theory challenge, 5-6 storylines, and a roster of about 70 wrestlers. I will probably cut it down to about 40 but to be fair, I use about 8 tag teams, and about 5-6 Trios (most of my singles stars are either True Solo or Faction Member). I have a LOT of faction interplay.</p>

I've had a blast running the APW with TEW 2016, so I'll probably try to carry on from there in 2020.

I'm not sure I have the skill and patience to edit the database to accurately reflect the current status, but hopefully I can do enough to make it feel like a continuation.

I am going to start a game a game as TCW and play around with that to get used to the new features of the game and have some fun before a good real world mod comes out then I am going to do some major database editing and create a Alternate Universe where after Wrestlemania 36 the WWE got into major financial trouble and quickly went out of business in May-June of 2020

- All current talent signed onto the main roster has their contract voided.

- Triple H manages to purchase NXT from the WWE before bankruptcy was filed. Due to financial limitations, NXT UK is disbanded with most of that roster released from their contracts along with some lower talent in NXT for financial reasons.

- As for the WWE assets, most of it goes to auction for other companies to buy. All Elite Wrestling, Turner, and Cody Rhodes purchase the WCW tape library, titles, names, and PPV's

- The National Wrestling Alliance agrees to purchase the tape library and likenesses to all NWA related stuff that was owned by the WWE.

- Paul Heyman regains the rights to Extreme Championship Wrestling

- Triple H purchases the rights to Survivor Series, Summerslam, Royal Rumble and King of the Ring. All other WWE PPV names become public domain for someone else to copyright at a later date.

- In a shocking move, Bushiroad and New Japan Pro Wrestling purchase the rights to WrestleMania, many were expecting All Elite Wrestling to purchase the license before Bushiroad made a last minute bid to purchase the iconic event likeness. Harold Meij stated that owning the WrestleMania was a top priority in expanding New Japan Pro Wrestling as a global wrestling company.

- All active WWE Championships will belong to the company in which the talent signs for going forward.

other notable things to happen in the aftermath of WWE's downfall

- Ring of Honor Wrestling and the NWA announce of merger and have signed a television 2 year television deal with Paramount Network. NWA Championship Wrestling will air live Monday Nights and act as the national brand of the National Wrestling Alliance, the goal of the NWA will be returning wrestling to the territorial days with different regions of the country getting a different regional brand.

NWA Powerr will remain at GPB Studios and will serve the Deep South and Mid Atlantic regions of the United States with the NWA United States championship acting as the regions main title. Along with their weekly studio show they're will be live tours and events throughout the Southeastern United States.

NWA Ring of Honor Wrestling will serve the Great Lakes and Northeast United States with the NWA Ring of Honor championship acting as the regions main title.

Defy Wrestling announced they have joined the National Wrestling Alliance and will serve the PNW of the United States. Like NWA Powerr Defy announces the return of "Portland Wrestling" and will host it' weekly tv show in a new Portland based TV studio and will tour the Pacific Northwest.

Serving the western states of the United States, Billy Corgan announces the return of World Class Championship Wrestling serving Texas, New Mexico, Nevada, California, Utah, Oklahoma, and Colorado. The Western States Heritage Championship will act as the Territories main brand.

- With NXT UK being no more, ITV announces the return of World of Sport wrestling signing most of the former NXT UK talent and announces an alliance with All Elite Wrestling.

- Court Bauer announces he has signed a multi year deal with WGN to air MLW Fusion

As for the Ex WWE talent I am still thinking about who goes where but these are my notables so far on where they're going

- AJ Styles signs a contract with All Elite Wrestling and he will be a semi active wrestler

- Roman Reigns goes to New Japan Pro Wrestling to rebrand himself

- Brock Lesnar also goes to NJPW

- New Day signs with AEW

- Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode go to NWA

- Revival to AEW

- Kevin Steen to AEW

- Bryan Danielson freelancer

still deciding what to do with most of the roster like I said

<p>Probably give 2016 pre-brand split WWE another run and book NXT lore for that full immersion first off. Been working on importing workers, adding narratives etc. so I can revisit that time period, it's a nice fairly clean slate and I can hold off on the brand split 'til after Mania.</p><p>

The idea of doing a seasonal show a la Chikara/Lucha Underground appeals also in various timelines, starting completely from scratch, having that blank canvas and building that lore and history is always a big appeal for me.</p><p>

Liking the sound of the planned May 2013 mod so I'm sure I'll give that a go, likewise if some of the old favourites appear or convert well (COTT, Rising Storms, Ruthless Aggression, Montreal Screwjob) they'll be on my list. Fancy a proper crack at ECW '97, WWF '94 or TNA/ROH 2004 and changing things up a bit.</p><p>

Hyped for the new game!</p>

The problem with that is that the internet in TEW doesn't work at all like how it does in real life. For some reason, you don't get any money for having your shows on the internet which isn't true at all for a lot of wrestling promotions.

NJPW makes a ton of money off NJPW World and AEW makes money off of BR Live/FiteTv.

Granted, when TEW 2016 came out streaming platforms weren't as popular as they are but it's something that takes me out of playing regional promotions because it's totally unrealistic. Even Chikara has its own streaming site at this point.

Of course, you could start your own broadcaster with a subscription service but that cost millions of dollars in TEW when it obviously doesn't in real life.

NJPW World and CHIKARA's streaming service are a subscription service owned by them. So yes you would get money and pop gains from that. Now BR live/FiteTV are a bit different as they are more or less a PPV distributor based on line, you can just set them as PPV. Which I know they do more then that but for AEW it is mainly what they use them for.

As have been said even 4 years ago you didn't have wrestling companies using Twitch and Youtube as viable means of getting out there and making money. Even now NWA has said Youtube will not make them enough money to stay in business in the long term same with MLW. Impact has their show on Twitch but also broadcast on tv. We don't know the dollar amount they make from those deals though.

<p>Cant remember if I've posted or not in here so I'll drop my plans again. TCW save is happening for sure assuming they're still alive. Here's my goals for the next 3-4 years in the company(real time, not game time)</p><p>

Hit Global, obviously</p><p>

Establish a full womens brand with the 3 natural titles(Main,Mid,Tag)</p><p>

Establish a full brand split</p><p>

Have a full or close to full new guard of main eventers.</p><p>

Have someone take over the figure head role from Rocky, assuming he's still there.</p><p>

Sign some people I havent in a long while/ever. Some people who fit this description would be Swoop McCarthy and Sensational Dragon.</p>

Local to Global game in the Cornellverse. I have always played using mods but figure this is a great time to dive in and learn all about the Cornellverse. Wish there was a way to read about the history up till now....

I would just read the text descriptions for the lore, both companies and characters, the mods do a great job of having a good depth history to them, the new game also has flavor text for networks and belts, so even more lore is probably waiting

I will be playing as one of the C-verse promotions (hopefully Golden Canvas Grappling as they are my favourite) to start with and get used to how the new game plays.

I'll then convert some mods over, update them for the new gameplay and release them.

About covers it.

Well firstly, I'll need to get a new laptop for the game itself. But once I do, hopefully BigPapa's upcoming "Yes! Movement" May 2013 mod will be out. I'm hoping to get to run a dynasty and try to see it through for a change! :p So much potential to rewrite history from that time period. Can I make the most of Dolph Ziggler's concussion situation? Do I build up Daniel Bryan's Road to WM better than how it was built up in real life? Do I see through Paul Heyman having other clients and actually getting them over? And this doesn't even touch on the plethora of international talent and various indies to scout from.

<p>I've got a few ideas in mind.</p><p> </p><p>

- Definitely want to explore the Cornellverse and get a feel for it. I've only done real world mods so getting a chance to dive into C-Verse is exciting. Maybe do CZCW and try to build them up, as I enjoy reading about them in diaries.</p><p> </p><p>

- Continue my AEW game. I've managed to get to #3 in the world and want to try building them up into legit contenders to WWE. Maybe get to the point where I can make a second brand for the women, set the company to Integrated, and put them on a a strong network. I'm also looking to starting my own network and buying out smaller companies to either use as development systems or for content on the AEW Network.</p><p> </p><p>

- RTG using the real world mod. Been eyeing possible areas, with Australia an area I'd want to really try. British Isles and Canada could also be fun.</p><p> </p><p>

- New Japan USA, with the eventuality of splintering off and possibly going to war with New Japan.</p><p> </p><p>

- NXT</p><p> </p><p>

- The NWA becomes an alliance once again, with Impact and CWFH as members. I'd be playing from Impact's position, since a female World Champion could possibly lead to the women in NWA looking for more opportunity and advancement.</p><p> </p><p>

- I know I'm going to try a WWE game, but perhaps do it as a split? Not sure how I'd do that, but I'm eager to try it out.</p>

<p>Same as always</p><p> </p><p>

Start a new federation, waste a couple days doing the art work, belts, and events/tv show banners ect</p><p>

After that local to global in the c-verse. </p><p>

Then hope like hell someone with talent and patience creates a 70s mod I can run for 30years or so. Yes I still liked it better when wrestling was "real".</p>

Return of The Eye Candy Wars

The once defunct and abandoned "Eye Candy Wars" will be possible in TEW 2020. Adam has cited that the former penalty of having back to back eye candy matches will be removed for certain risque promotions.

I'm not making any ambitious promises until I have a chance to play the game and get a feel for it. The concept was creating an entire industry exclusive to the professional wrestling industry composed of companies featuring eye candy matches using legit female wrestlers, porn stars, strippers and others.

With the apparent improvements to Japan I might give Black Canvas Grappling a go. Unless there are interesting Rasslin' kind of promotions in C-Verse this time around, in which case I'll probably do that first.

Then I'll wait for T-Verse so I can play Bluegrass Championship Wrestling again.
