Your 2020 plans

Recommended Posts

First I will explore the CVerse and see how it has changed, hopefully CGC and APW haven't completely collapsed.

I'll probably then import over the characters that I added into the CVerse in 2016 and start a game as a small company to try and get a feel for the game as well as see how the game unfolds, before trying my hand at a serious play through.

Basically analyse the game mechanics to find workarounds for those settings that has been removed in TEW2020, so that I can get an opinion if the game can run real world mods in a realistic way or if I should stay with TEW2016 due to the customization and available settings.

I'd like to try a Developmental company, in whatever form that takes in the C-Verse.

I'm also into the idea of small time touring wrestling, be it Canadian Death Tours (as many cheap shows as possible in the few weeks the lakes are iced over) or Half Term Wrestling (kids off school, need something to do). So I'm interested in how TEW2020 rebalances finances, because TEW2016 was unsuitable for the business model.

I really have no idea at the minute. Was planning on running the game I was playing until 2020 came out. I updated it here not that long ago. Change of computer, got all the files over from the save, everything is great, until this Microsoft one drive wrecks a lot of files. I just put the computer on one day and files are all messed up. Goodbye, one drive. Keep up the bad work.

Felt the urge to play again the other day. The mod that starts in January 2003 was the choice this time. Having fun with it.

The favourite would probably be late 80's early 90's WWF.

I think I'd also like to try a hardcore promotion, as the changes to match risk should make them less frustrating to play.

Not sure if it's just me not looking properly or the fact I restrict myself to British Isles wrestlers, but I rarely find wrestlers that are suitable for hardcore.

Am I just not looking properly?

There are definitely decent hardcore guys, but in terms of actual hardcore top row guys. There isn't many good guys that are unemployed (Like 6 or so with only 3 guys being under the age of 40) but brawlers also have a place in hardcore so it evens it out. I would like to see hardcore a small increase in guys hardcore stats. Particularly in like Australia or Japan where it is a focus to a degree.

I HAVE found some success with using guys with a Decent Hardcore score and an ability they're listed as Good at in a Hardcore Style match with a match aim suited to their latter ability- i.e., Wild Brawl for Brawlers, High Spots for High Fliers, etc. This isn't a surefire trick, but it's better than nothing.

I think one plan for 2020 is to use the forums more often and interact with everyone more rather than just be an out the way Youtube guy.

In terms of saves, god there's so many things I wanna try for TEW2020.

I've only dabbled into vaguely but for sure wish to try the default database, and learn about the stars many are fond of.

I'll likely do a AEW save for the lifespan of the game.

I'd love to try NJPW at one point to book that style and I have a real urge to try some of the historical mods that the great mod makers take the time to create.

So if they covert over well or get made, I'd love to try late 80's, peak Monday Night Wars, even try rebook the Nexus era and that's just WWE/F saves.

Of course, would love to do a R2G aswell.

So many options.

Doing TCW again unless they're dead or for some reason way above everyone else. Will also likely create a Dev fed for them and play that in a different save since it looks like it would be a fun and challenging way to play.

If TCW is dead then IDK what I'll do. Start my own promotion? Go to Japan? Tough to say. Maybe I'll take over North of the Border. Who knows.

I think I'm going to take up a huge task and try and book the entire Confederation of the Territories at the same time. As someone who has booked MAW in two incredible saves this year, it does get frustrating that I'm so much bigger than everyone but OLLIE so I think I would like to book all the companies in the territory at once

At that point, you could use TEW2020 (when released) to convert that database file. You'd just have to make tweaks to the database to get things working with new features. I've never exported a save but I believe that your able to do this, right?

EDIT: I just checked and it's just the database file to view, it isn't playable. For some reason I thought it was. Bummer!

Planning on playing CVerse 2020 USA and starting my own company. Just gonna find the cutest girls and push them as main eventers, as usual. I'm gonna try to have my stories make even less sense than usual, which is saying something considering my current storylines involve demons and angels flying all over the place firing off kamekameha at each other

Hope all the bugs are fixed, and all the missing features and UI elements are put back in. ;)

Indeed, not a fan of the removal of those. It's gonna be more difficult to invent workarounds for realism. So I'm not really sure that I will make the jump to 2020. At the moment it's too many cons, unless more realistic templates are added for the removed preferences and settings.

I've been thinking a lot about this of late but the thing is with the game not out until April, I feel like it's a waste of time. I usually don't get excited about games until a week before they come out so, chances are I prob won't be too bothered about 2020 until at least the date for the demo is released.

That being said , C-Verse is always my first stop, I'll do a detailed check on the changes since the last database and go from there but it'll prob be my own company that I set up. I'll give CGC a go if they are still around and maybe SWF if they're different enough from 2016. ZEN will get a shot. But again it all depends on CV changes.

I think the new features are going to add a lot of options for mod makers, and further make it easier to sim a realistic world. That said I am getting a new laptop next week, so I am looking forward to playing 2020 on it. And hoping that the mods for the early 90s are playable at least after a conversion.

I hope that either the broadcaster preferences are restored to TEW2016 settings or that several new "broadcaster templates" are added since it's very unrealistic that a mainstream template for general entertainment TV networks always includes a neutral or pro/highly pro stance towards lucha libre.

For realism there must be a mainstream template that also is against/highly against lucha libre, otherwise realism for real world mods is gone.

I also hope that you can prevent a region like India from populate the region with created workers. That would ruin historical real world mods.
