Dustin heading to UPJ was one of the team's finest QA everqqaàq creative moments even though none of us were entirely sure if it was a good idea or not (it was).

How did you guys even come to that decision? Did you just use a RNG to determine which random north american wrestler landed in UPJ? Did someone make a joke about Dustin being hired, and the joke go past someone's head? It was so random, and I love it

I really like the Thunderverse, in fact it is by far the most detailed fantasy / custom scenario. The work that went into this mod is ridiculous. There is a downside to all this though, which is the loading times, there is so much data, wrestlers and promotions, it influences the speeds.

I think the amount of promotions need to be cut down, there is way too many small companies that will never get anywhere. With the new game, the independent scene will basically do the work these small promotions do anyway. I know it will be "weird" to reduce the companies by 50%, but it will help in the long run.

Maybe "convert" some of those companies into performance centers or even "tribute" events held yearly. I think that will create a legit explanation as to where all those companies went. It is the same as most RW mods, the data is so massive, it makes playing a WWE level company impossible.

I think any mod should be focused in having similar data levels to what the Cornellverse has, that database is what has been tested the most extensively and is a pretty good foundation point. I think the Thuderverse has a good 30-40% more overall.

Again, this is not a knock on the actual mod, if anything i think the work done here is exceptional.

I've never noticed any major issues with loading times, on a middle of the road laptop. *shrugs*

I totally understand what you're saying here, but I will respectfully disagree simply because I have never had any loading issues, even 5 years deep into a game. If anything, it loads faster than most mods. I also have a middle of the road laptop.

I've got a feeling it might be my fault, but it was long enough ago that I can't be sure. :p It was definitely deliberate though!

I think if you just got half the alter-egos that are just one word differences (and wow, there are quite a few of those!), then I imagine that might help significantly.

I'd have to look through them but most of the alter egos were for images rather than name changes. As far as I am aware there is no real impact on load times from them either, the only time they would be looked at by the AI is if they were being hired. Cappelli King is correct in that the number of companies causes the biggest load time pressures because they require so much processing between days.

In terms of the load times, I've also never noticed an issue with them but it's still a valid point. What we could do is suggest promotions less important that can be deleted for those struggling with processing turns. That way people who want the full list can play with it and those who don't have some "official" guidance on which are surplus to the core narrative. Capelli, if I forget this by the time of release remind me and I'll make sure it's in the first post of the thread.

<p>I connect to the forum after months (maybe years ?) because TEW demo is releasing today and the first thing I read is this :</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="jhd1" data-cite="jhd1" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47493" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Consider it official <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> This hypes me much more for TEW2020. I would have bought it anyway, but the T-Verse will make this better !</p>

Yes I definitely knew that there's a brand new mod coming out, just wanted to play some of the 2016 T-Verse in the meantime:D

This is heartening to hear! My enthusiasm for TEW2020 release day has been dampened a bit by the fact that it'll be a while before we get the Thunderverse. It's good to know progress is being made!

Call me sensitive and tbh I dont quite remember if they had already been removed but I hope the "confederation" type motifs arent really present in the game. I can sort of get it for individual workers but hopefully companies dont really hold PPVs or anything themed around that.

You can't shy away from history, political movements and modern appropriations of them. It isn't endorsing the associated ideas, it's just reflecting a sub-section of the world we live in for the sake of keeping a degree of realism. I believe the CSA and associated movements are only being referenced by regional and smaller promotions based in locations where there are still a chunk of people it resonates with.

The reality of the world is racists can (and in many cases do) run businesses and own wrestling promotions, if you want to create a realistic universe with 90-odd active unique promotions, each with unique owners/bookers/characters, then I think you're always going to draw on ideas for some of them that are distasteful to most of us.
