SWF: Supreme World Challenge (CVerse 2020)

Recommended Posts

Joey Morgan & The Dallas Cowboys (Mashall Dillon & Ranger) vs Unleashed Awesomeness (Randy Unleashed, Jefferson Stardust and Huey Cannonball)

 - Established unit rules apply. It's kind of crazy as somebody whose TEW mind is still stuck on the 2010 edition to see what's become of Joey formerly Minnesota.

Robbie Retro vs Scythe

 - It is what it is.

The Domination (Avalanche & Chill) vs The Pain Alliance (Big Smack Scott & Kurt Laramee)

 - Only because I know nothing about Avalance and Chill. Their gimmick is they're very cold? From the Himalayas? I think after dropping a match to a brand new team last week that Scott & Laramee will be motivated.

Sammy Smoke vs Valiant

 - Unless there's some more Rogue poking his nose in, I can't see Valiant coming up snake eyes here.

Main Event:

Brandon James & The Crippler vs Rocky Golden & Angry Gilmore

 - I agree with @KyTeran here, if Brandon is going up against Rocky he needs some kind of bragging rights and reasoning for his challenge to be taken seriously and/or accepted. Plus I think The Crippler keeps up a streak against Gilmore for now, until the rubber match where Frustrated Thomas will triumph.

(BONUS 1) Will SWF top the weekly TV ratings this week?

 - It seems TCW have discovered match spamming and a way around repeat booking penalties ...I'm going to say no. But it's a strong main event, so I could be wrong.

(BONUS 2) Will SWF top the weekly TV ratings this month?

 - I think it's going to be close, overall I'm also going to say no. But I think it's just a matter of time before the tides turn.

SUPREME TV EPISODE 8

(Tuesday, week 4, February 2020. , F. G. Clark Center, Baton Rouge, LA. Attendance: 7500 SELL OUT!)

Unleashed Awesomeness (Randy Unleashed, Jefferson Stardust and Huey Cannonball def. Joey Morgan and The Dallas Cowboys (Marshall Dillon & Ranger)  (79)

The fans in Louisiana heavily supported Joey Morgan and The Dallas Cowboys during a match that was very good to work the crowd. Unleashed Awesomeness disrespected the home crowd multiple times but it only got the crowd hotter. Joey Morgan showed he's in great shape and also had a very good start of the match facing Randy. Then the tag teams took over and they were very even for most of the time. The Dallas Cowboys hit Huey Cannonball with the Rodeo Driver but Jefferson Stardust saved his partner. Finally The Awesomeness hit Marshall Dillon with the Shock And Awe and Jefferson Stardust pinned him for the win. The crowd booed Unleashed Awesomeness loudly while they left the ring.

Scythe def. Robbie Retro (71)

The Reaper faced The Disco Stud in a match where they stole the show. The Disco Stud received a standing ovation after losing to Remo in a great match and the crowd in Baton Rouge cheered him from the beginning in this match. Retro was smart in his approach to this match and used his experience against a younger opponent, but Scythe is more powerful and he is also in the best form of his career, soon he probed that it wouldn't be enough for Retro. After a powerslam, Scythe finished Retro with the Choke Slam. After the match the fans showed again their respect for The Disco Stud.

ANGLE: Ana Garcia interviews The Rat Pack before the former Tag Team champions Fame & Glory have their rematch vs Hawaiian Crush at Awesome Impact. The rematch was initially going to take place at Nothing To Lose but Justin Sensitive injured Ekuma during a 4vs4 match. Ana Garcia confirms that Ekuma is cleared to compete. The Rat Pack's leader Hollywood Bret Starr tells Ana Garcia that "it's now or never for Fame & Glory to recover the titles" while he gives Fame & Glory a look (74)

The Domination (Avalanche & Chill) def. The Pain Alliance (Big Smack Scott & Kurt Laramee) (43)

The Domination were accompanied by the rest of Demolition: Primus Allen and their manager Kristen Pearce. The Pain Alliance came off a loss vs The Rock City Stars, while it was the first 2vs2 match in SWF for The Domination, who are former RIPW Tag team champions. Kurt Laramee dominated Chill during the first minutes, but when Avalanche got tagged in he took control of the match. Primus Allen and Kristen Pearce applauded Avalanche's efforts from the ringside. Avalanche hit Big Smack Scott with the One-Handed Choke Bomb for the victory. After all, it was a heels vs heels match that didn't get much expectation from the crowd, but it was The Domination's first win in SWF. After the match, Primus Allen high-fived Avalanche and Chill while Kristen Pearce enthusiastically applauded.

Valiant def. Sammy Smoke (71)

Sammy Smoke's first match of the year and it was against one of the top dogs in SWF. But Sammy Smoke is famous for his trash talking and that was what he did for the first minutes, trying to take away Valiant's focus Smoke referred to Rogue's betrayal and the fact that Valiant has been trapped in a triangular feud that feels more like a 2vs1 most of the time. Despite the references to his former tag team Rogue, Valiant reoriented his efforts effectively and started to clearly dominate the match around the 5 minute mark. Smoke kicked out at 2 after a suplex pin, but couldn't kick out after the Patriot Missile a few minuted later. A solid win for Valiant celebrated by the crowd in Louisiana.

Main Event:

image.pngw/ image.pngThe Crippler mini.pngvst white.pngimage.pngAngry Gilmore mini.png

Brandon James & The Crippler def. Rocky Golden & Angry Gilmore (83)

Angry Gilmore received the biggest pop of the night when he made his entrance. Brandon James and Rocky Golden started the match and Brandon James pushed Rocky Golden, who pushed James back. They set the bar very high showing that both of them have tremendous power and are elite performers. Then The Crippler and Angry Gilmore got tagged in and the tensions between them fueled them to go all out for many minutes until they both fell exhausted, but only The Cripper was able to make the tag.

Despite the relentless efforts Angry Gilmore stayed in the match and the crowd supported him against Brandon James. Gilmore even attempted the submission with a figure four leglock. Later Brandon James' manager Krissy Angelle yelled at Angry Gilmore from the ringside getting his attention, but it was a distraction maneuver that Brandon James used to surprise him with the Big Money Move and to pin him for the victory. After 21 minutes, the heels celebrated a huge victory before Awesome Impact with Krissy Angelle, who raised their hands. The crowd booed them while Rocky Golden and Angry Gilmore were still in shock. Undoubtedly it was one of the matches of the year in SWF so far.

Captura de pantalla 2024-03-03 a las 2.22.43.png

Supreme TV closed an amazing month for SWF with Brandon James & The Crippler def. Rocky Golden & Angry Gilmore (83) in the Main Event.

The Behemoths def. Mighty Meaty (72) in the Main Event of TCW Presents Total Wrestling. TCW's TV show entered the last week leading the monthly ratings average but SWF was more consistent.

USPW had the worst ratings in months. Jett & Moor def. Natural Storm in a Cage Match (75) in American Wrestling's Main Event.

After the successful show, SWF booker Eric Eisen was seen extremely animated talking to Krissy Angelle in Brandon James' presence. Tomorrow SWF will head to Texas because this Saturday SWF Awesome Impact will go head-to-head with USPW Red, White And Blue. It will be SWF's second attempt to defeat a USPW monthly PPV this year.

The Pain Alliance lost to The Rock City Stars last week, so I'm assuming you see them as the jobbers of the tag division

@Shmoe II Chill's gimmick is Ice Man, but Avalanche is a monster. I'm putting more emphasis in The Domination as a former RIPW tag team that was "dominant" there and tries to translate that to SWF while being part of a faction like Demolition. Also in the first page you have a recap with the initial gimmicks.

I feel like Brandon needs at least one win over Rocky Golden to be a credible threat, so after losing last week he gets a win back here.

You were right about this. After Rocky Golden was in the winning team last time, a win for Brandon's team was important before they face each other, as I didn't want to stop Brandon James' recent form.

Whoa TCW choked bad lol

It won’t be easy to top an USPW PPV but that may be huge! I like this “company wars” goals, it adds another layer to the entire diary

TCW's recent ratings depended on repeating the same match two consecutive weeks, so I thought there was an opportunity and they couldn't maintain the same level. USPW had a really bad month but they are USPW and they can recover the lead at any time. I'm glad that you like the company wars. SWF's goal is always to be the #1 because traditionally is what SWF was, but as you all know it's not an easy mission by any means.

Predictions for AWESOME IMPACT 2020

Remo vs Rogue vs Valiant

Rogue's had some big wins throughout the diary so far - the Scythe victory in particular comes to mind, and this win could set him up nicely as the next challenger for Rocky

Joey Morgan vs Randy Unleashed

Randy Unleashed can get really good, really quickly. I saw strap a rocket to him!

SWF World Tag Team

Hawaiian Crush (Ekuma & High Flyin Hawaiian) (c) vs Fame & Glory (Paul Huntingdon & Monty Trescarde)

Can't see the Hawaiin's dropping the belts first defence

Submission Match

Angry Gilmore vs The Crippler

Should be a great match, playing to both mens strengths. I think The Crippler is a little bland after dropping his Lobster Warrior gimmick, so going for Gilmore

The Awesomeness (Jefferson Stardust & Huey Cannonball) vs The Dallas Cowboys (Marshall Dillon & Ranger)

The Awesomeness are awesome

Main Event: SWF World Heavyweight

Rocky Golden (c) vs Brandon James

Rocky is your figurehead, and I think a younger Heel would benefit more from taking the title off him

(BONUS) Will SWF Awesome Impact beat USPW Red, White And Blue?

No - I would love to be wrong, but I feel Brandon James is a little old in the tooth to be pulling out top ratings

AWESOME IMPACT 2020

Remo vs Rogue vs Valiant

 - You know my feelings about the guy, unless I really know he's losing I'll pick him. I also think that he makes the most interesting antagonist.

Joey Morgan vs Randy Unleashed

 - it's just his time after years of not knowing how far you can push a guy with such an ...interesting family name, now he's Unleashed and I'm here for it.

SWF World Tag Team

Hawaiian Crush (Ekuma & High Flyin Hawaiian) (c) vs Fame & Glory (Paul Huntingdon & Monty Trescarde)

 - I don't really know why, I can see the devious heels exploiting the recent injury of Ekuma (kayfabe style) for a bit of a left turn title change.

Submission Match

Angry Gilmore vs The Crippler

 - Much like my Rogue pick, I just go with my heart. Two very talented workers but Gilmore should be moving on and in the mix for belts and major programmes - TAFKA Lobby is a solid hand but Angry is a different beast.

The Awesomeness (Jefferson Stardust & Huey Cannonball) vs The Dallas Cowboys (Marshall Dillon & Ranger)

 - I like The Awesomeness more as a unit and I think they're winning out in the end but feel the Cowboys haven't picked up a major W in a while and maybe they need one to regain a little legitimacy. But I'm half expecting to be wrong.

Main Event: SWF World Heavyweight

Rocky Golden (c) vs Brandon James

 - I always enjoyed Big Cat and then Big Money, but Golden is the man right now and it's going to take more than James has to stop him.

(BONUS) Will SWF Awesome Impact beat USPW Red, White And Blue?

 -  I'm gonna say the triple threat, Gilmore vs. Crippler and if Brandon can keep up his recent form the main event will deliver. So YES. From the last months ratings, I seems USPW is out of sorts at the moment so it's the perfect time for a big dub for SWF.

AWESOME IMPACT 2020

(Saturday, week 4, February 2020. Apogee Stadium, Denton, TX. Attendance: 30850 SELL OUT!)

Opening video package for SWF Awesome Impact, which goes head-to-head with USPW Red, White And Blue. It is SWF's second attempt to beat a USPW monthly PPV this year.

It starts with a recap of the triangular feud between Remo, Rogue and Valiant, emphasizing Valiant's emotional message to his former tag team partner Rogue and Rogue's last match against Scythe where he showed a different attitude and he even received timid support from some fans.

Then we see Joey Morgan and The Dallas Cowboys taking pictures in Texas with the Texan fans before we cut to scenes of the matches and segments where they face Unleashed Awesomeness.

After that we watch Justin Sensitive injuring Ekuma and The Rat Pack's leader Hollywood Bret Starr giving Fame & Money a look, before Hawaiian Crush raise the SWF World Tag Team belts after defeating Fame & Money.

Then a recap of the feud between Angry Gilmore and The Crippler that started in the first Supreme TV episode of the year.

Finally Krissy Angelle shakes SWF booker Eric Eisen's hand and we see scenes where his client Brandon James faces Rocky Golden during their last 2vs2 matches. Rocky Golden holding the SWF World Heavyweight championship belt is the last thing we watch before a top shot of a sold out Apogee Stadium shouting "SWF! SWF!".

REMO vs ROGUE vs VALIANT

image.pngvst white.pngRogue mini.pngvst white.pngValiant mini.png

They worked the crowd for the first 5 minutes or so, an easy job for these three charismatic stars in front of an enthusiastic Texan crowd. After that there is a phase where Valiant does a good job to divide his opponents, but it doesn't take too long before Remo and Rogue begin to collaborate much more while the Texan fans booed them loudly. The Destroyer is merciless to harm Valiant with three consecutive german suplexes and then Rogue hits Valiant with a Big Boot.

Valiant is down and it's time for Remo and Rogue to finish the job. Laying on the ground, Valiant desperately appeals to his former tag team partner Rogue saying "Come on, Jack (Rogue's name when they were partner). I know you're not like that deep inside. I know who you are, Jack!". Rogue surprisingly seems to be in two minds and Remo tells him "What are you doing? Let's finish this!". Rogue doesn't move and Remo tells him "Come on, idiot! Let's finish him!" while the crowd chants "No! No! No!". Rogue heads to Valiant, but suddenly he turns to Remo and attacks him with the Crashing On. The crowd erupts "Yes! Yes! Yes!" while Rogue leaves the ring and heads to the backstage. Valiant is still in shock but reacts to pick Remo for the V-Split and the referee makes the 3-count. In 23 minutes Valiant takes a huge victory to start the show.

Rogue turned face in this match and it was a complete success.

JOEY MORGAN vs RANDY UNLEASHED

Joey Morgan mini.pngvst white.pngRandy Unleashed copia.png

The Texan crowd is very vocal showing how much they hate Unleashed Awesomeness members that mocked Texas a few weeks ago in a Supreme TV episode and have been feuding with Joey Morgan and The Dallas Cowboys in past weeks. Joey Morgan has a great start of the match fueled by "Let's go Morgan, let's go Morgan!" chants as he completes a superplex and then tries to submit Randy with an arm breaker, but Randy avoids the submission with a rope break. Randy regrouped to show his aerial skills with a suicide dive and a hurricanrana before he pinned Morgan, who kicked out at 2. The storytelling of this match was already good, but it got even better when Randy insulted Texas and Morgan made him shut his mouth with a takedown. Randy tried to stand up but Morgan caught him again for a Hammerlock. Randy had no other option but to tap out. The Texan crowd enthusiastically celebrated Morgan's victory.

HAWAIIAN CRUSH (EKUMA & HIGH FLYIN HAWAIIAN) (c) vs FAME & MONEY (PAUL HUNTINGDON & MONTY TRESCARDE w/ Hollywood Bret Starr and  Justin Sensitive)

image.pngimage.pngvst white.pngPaul Huntingdon Rat Pack mini.pngMonty Trescarde Rat Pack mini.png w/ image.pngimage.png

Hawaiian Crush make their first defence vs the former 2-time champions Fame & Money in one of the most awaited rematches of the year so far, after Justin Sensitive injured Ekuma in Supreme TV weeks ago and the rematch had to be postponed. High Flyin Hawaiian and Paul Huntingdon started the match with The Rat Pack member taking the action to the ground in an attempt to submit the Hawaiian. Huntingdon was unsuccessful and soon High Flyin Hawaiian was showing his aerial moves, putting the crowd on its feet with a frog splash.

Later Ekuma and Monty Trescarde got tagged in. The Hawaiian Strong Man dominated Trescarde with his much superior power. Despite Trescarde tricks, Ekuma is very motivated in this match and doesn't lose focus. Ekuma goes for a piledriver, but Huntingdon is able to save his partner before the 3-count.

With Monty Trescarde still laying on the ground, High Flyin Hawaiian got tagged in and Hawaiian Crush prepare for the Rocket Launcher. This time Hollywood Bret Starr sends Justin Sensitive to help Trescarde, but nothing could give more satisfaction to Ekuma than stopping the man who injured him. High Flying Hawaiian pinned Monty Trescarde for the victory. Hollywood Bret Starr goes absolutely crazy after the loss hitting the ground and calling Fame & Money "fucking losers" repeatedly before storming out to the backstage.

Hawaiian Crush def. Fame & Money (68)

Submission Match

ANGRY GILMORE vs THE CRIPPLER

Angry Gilmore mini.pngvst white.pngThe Crippler mini.png

Angry Gilmore and The Crippler are 1-1 in singles matches this year, in a rivalry where they've also met in 2vs2 matches. This Submission Match is the perfect opportunity to finish on top and both wrestlers are eager to show their superiority. The crowd sides with Gilmore but The Crippler doesn't waste time to connect on Gilmore with a cutter and then looks to submit him with a headlock. Gilmore got rid of The Crippler and they started a phase full of takedowns and reversals where they showed their great technical skills. Gilmore went for a head scissors submission but it ended with a rope break. The Crippler hit a couple of stomps and tried to use the Tombstone Piledriver to finish his opponent, but Gilmore reversed it to a back breaker with an extraordinary move that put the crowd on its feet. Then Gilmore prepared for a camel clutch. The Crippler fought for almost a minute before he finally tapped out.

THE DALLAS COWBOYS (MARSHALL DILLON & RANGER) vs THE AWESOMENESS (JEFFERSON STARDUST & HUEY CANNONBALL)

Marshall Dillon copia.pngimage.pngvst white.pngJefferson Stardust Unleashed copia.pngHuey Canonball Unleashed mini.png

This is the third time that these tag teams meet and The Awesomeness won the previous matches. The Texan fans make a hostile atmosphere for The Awesomeness booing them and shouting "Awesomeness suck". Marshall Dillon and Huey Cannonball go all out brawling while the "Let's go Cowboys, let's go Cowboys!" chants invade the arena. Cannonball delivered an awesome canadian destroyer but Dillon was able to make the tag. Jefferson Stardust got tagged in later, but the action was on the ringside where, despite not being the legal competitors, Ranger and Huey Cannonball began to brawl again until they crashed behind a barricade.

With their partners out for the rest of the match, Marshall Dillon and Jefferson Stardust kept fighting until Dillon hit Stardust with the Crackdown.

Randy Unleashed copia.png

When Dillon was about to cover Stardust, Randy Unleashed made a surprising entrance booed by the Texan fans.

image.pngimage.png

But when Randy was approaching the ring, the Dallas Cowboys' stars Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper came out running down the ramp and the crowd went crazy! Prescott and Cooper tackled Randy Unleashed taking him out and the crowd fired up chanting "Texas! Texas!". Marshall Dillon hit Jefferson Stardust with the Crackdown again to take the victory. The Dallas Cowboys celebrated a huge win with the local football stars and their home crowd while fireworks with Texas flag's colors take the Apogee Stadium.

The Dallas Cowboys def. The Awesomeness (78)

ROCKY GOLDEN (c) vs BRANDON JAMES (w/ Krissy Angelle)

image.pngvst white.pngimage.png w/image.png

dollar.jpeg dollar.jpeg

"Big Money" Brandon James makes his entrance accompanied by his superhot manager Krissy Angelle to David Guetta's song "Money". All the lights turn green in reference to the color of money and Krissy Angelle throws one dollar bills to the crowd. An entrance worthy of a former SWF World Heavyweight champion (81)

The fans are still excited with the incredible ending of The Dallas Cowboys' match and "SWF! SWF!" chants invade the Apogee Stadium when Rocky Golden and Brandon James are finally face to face. The two heavyweights are in impressive condition. When the match begins it's a fight between two incredibly powerful opponents. They leave the ring for about three minutes to brawl at the ringside increasing the intensity, but the match is more about storytelling where occasional but very powerful moves dictate the direction of the match.

When they are starting to feel the fatigue, Krissy Angelle shouts at the referee and Rocky gets distracted for a second looking at them, an opportunity that Brandon James doesn't miss to surprise the champion with the Big Money Move, but astonishingly the champion kicks out at 2. Brandon James picks Rocky's body but the champion replies with a reverse irish whip. Then Rocky connects with a couple of upper body punches on James for an incredible comeback. Rocky Golden hits Brandon James with the Rocky Road to retain in 18 minutes. Krissy Angelle is frustrated at the ringside, Rocky was in big trouble but the match completely changed in a couple of minutes.

84 is a pretty good rating! It was a pleasant show, and it felt like this is the turning point where finally we move away from default storylines and start going with our own.

Valiant-Rogue relationship is interesting to see, curious to understand why Rogue walked out from the match!

That Crippler's loss hurt :(

Rich Money def. Nicky Champion to retain the USPW World title (89) in the Main Event of USPW Red, White And Blue. Rocky Golden def. Brandon James have (81) to main event SWF Awesome Impact.

However, it was TCW The War To Settle The Score the best event in February. Jay Chord def. Aaron Andrews for the TCW World Heavyweight title (88) in the Main Event to close a great month for TCW.

Despite losing this battle, SWF booker Eric Eisen was surprisingly extremely happy. Not only because of the good rating, but also he received a secret call after which he was seen toasting and pouring champagne over himself without a shirt. The roster were confused with Eric's behavior, but the booker told them that they did a great job and that they'll understand everything after he makes an historic announcement this Tuesday on Supreme TV. Eric Eisen's speech boosted the roster's morale and Rocky Golden was all smiles and jokes after a night that prolonged his great momentum.

Remo vs Rogue vs Valiant

Rogue's had some big wins throughout the diary so far - the Scythe victory in particular comes to mind, and this win could set him up nicely as the next challenger for Rocky

Remo vs Rogue vs Valiant

 - You know my feelings about the guy, unless I really know he's losing I'll pick him. I also think that he makes the most interesting antagonist.

Rogue was the protagonist of the match, but it was because he turned face. The initial storyline said "with Rogue playing both sides as much as he can" so I thought it was an opportunity to turn him face. As I've mentioned before, the initial roster was full of heels and my idea was to balance the roster as soon as possible.

Submission Match

Angry Gilmore vs The Crippler

Should be a great match, playing to both mens strengths. I think The Crippler is a little bland after dropping his Lobster Warrior gimmick, so going for Gilmore

 - Much like my Rogue pick, I just go with my heart. Two very talented workers but Gilmore should be moving on and in the mix for belts and major programmes - TAFKA Lobby is a solid hand but Angry is a different beast.

Submission Match: Angry Gilmore vs The Crippler I'm afraid Gilmore will take this

I think Gilmore has a little bit more left in the tank, also both are veteran wrestlers but Gilmore is younger. Anyway, The Crippler will still be relevant. Both are great grapplers and I thought a submission stipulation was a good way to end this feud.

The Awesomeness (Jefferson Stardust & Huey Cannonball) vs The Dallas Cowboys (Marshall Dillon & Ranger)

The Awesomeness are awesome

 - I like The Awesomeness more as a unit and I think they're winning out in the end but feel the Cowboys haven't picked up a major W in a while and maybe they need one to regain a little legitimacy. But I'm half expecting to be wrong.

This is valid for Joey Morgan vs Randy Unleashed too: The way Unleashed Awesomeness disrespected the Texan crowd in previous shows was a key factor, these matches had a lot of fanservice for the home crowd.

You nailed it @Wrestling Machine. This is absulutely the turning point where we move away from default storylines. This event closed the first two months and you'll see the diary taking its own direction starting with the next Supreme TV episode.

I think Valiant's speech in Supreme TV episode 5 is key to understand what is happening with Rogue, but the story is still developing and you'll find out.

84 is a good rating, just one point more and it'd have been much different. If only The Crippler was a little bit younger... but I'll try to give him his moment in this diary. The good part despite the loss I think is that he's been involved in this feud with Gilmore that started in the first Supreme TV of the year and was so important to save SWF from early penalties. The Crippler will be involved in future important feuds that's for sure.
