<p>I'm working on finishers and ring music for my SWF dynasty, and am finding it a surprisingly long and tough process. The ring music is fun -- if a song doesn't suggest itself to me for a guy, I can always throw a song on them that feels like it should be SOMEBODY's wrestling theme song. </p><p> </p><p>

But the finishers are taking a long time -- I'm searching WreSpi, Wikipedia and YouTube to find moves that fit the characters, as well as (in most cases) their canonical finisher names. I guess I don't need to figure all of these out now -- I can wait until the worker uses his finisher, and even then sometimes I may just be able to say, for example, "Remo hits the Destroyer" without going into an explanation of what that is. </p><p> </p><p>

(I mean, not the Destroyer. The Destroyer is obviously a muscle buster. I've known that ever since I decided yesterday that the Destroyer was a muscle buster. But, like, Rich Money's finishers -- what the hell are those? <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> )</p>

I'm writing the first show right now just to see how it turns out, and I'm pleasantly surprised how fun it is to go back to MAW. Honestly, I was going to wait until I actually reached cult status, but I think being just on the cusp is more interesting. Plus, the show I'm writing is the first I unlocked motivational speeches for, so that's exciting. </p><p> </p><p> I wouldn't expect any backstage segments this time around, though, if I do end up posting it. TEW.com articles and interviews would be the closest I would come to that.</p>

One thing that I've always done in regards to finishers is look up the move on Wrestling Spirit 2. Rich Money's finishers in particular are on there. You can d/l the demo of WS2 and then look up the move in the database.

I used to do this, until I found out that the Immortal Driver - the move that got a man over in Japan - is just a regular cradle piledriver.

That makes a lot of sense... and yeah, I figure I can always discard whatever ones don't make sense to me.

Setting the dynasty in 2023 has some advantages in that regard... presumably half the roster has debuted at least one new finisher in that time, so if there IS a canonical finisher for any of them, I have the right to ignore that. And with some of them, I've had to replace their finishers anyway to accommodate new gimmicks -- I'm writing Frederique Garcia as basically an aging Vegas entertainer who enters the ring to Tom Jones and does insult comedy about his opponents, for example, so a move called "Romeo is Bleeding" doesn't really fit into that.

I'm also thinking that I can always keep a few of the finishers as named but undefined, and use those as prizes in a prediction contest or something. (It's hard to let people pick hirings in a dynasty set 10 years in the future, and I don't really want to give up the right to set up face/heel turns or whatever.)

February, 1997. The Monday Night Wars are riding on with the WWF losing it really bad...several wrestlers jumped ship to the competition, the ratings are falling week after week...something's got to give, and WCW is ready to take the WWF right off the map. But soon this is going to end. Because when you're losing a war, you need to launch some Attitude to it...WWF Attitude.

So got the rare opportunity to tune into WWE for a chance and it made me want to do this and see what I could do with the current company. So here is the back story, tell me what you think.

May 2013

WWE post it's lowest rated episode of RAW since the start of the year, a headline we have since to many in recent months and years. The main event was new comer Curtis Axel against John Cena, the match ends with an ambulance racing into the arena and Curtis getting a count out win, A sure fire way to build to the up and coming match for the championship at WWE Payback and surely that will get ratings and PPV buying right? Well the ratings gave the team the answer and the answer was no.

In a bid to shake things up WWE have looked to appoint a new booker for the creative department, someone outside the WWE, someone who isn’t a wrestler, myself! With sinking ratings and a lack of creative and a stale product, and inconsistent booking I have been appointed to attempt to turn things around.

This is my story…

Something’s I would like to achieve during this diary:-

- Re-establish the mid-card and look to raise the profile of the mid-card championship!

- Reinvent the tag team division and again continue to raise the profile of the tag team championship!

- Overhaul the Divas division so it isn’t seen as just being a pee break!

- Build consistent storyline that run from show to show and have a clear start and ending point!

- Have the brand spilt mean something again. 1 show = 1 champion, no Smackdown guys on RAW and vice versa.

I haven't had much interest in the current WWE product for a while, become a loyal TNA fan, so its a different challenge trying to overhaul the establish product rather than grow the smaller company. Plus I think as someone whose not a WWE guy maybe doing a diary like this will get me some interest in the product that i have all but lost.

So looking forward to setting this up tomorrow after work maybe and hope you can join me on my attempt to turn the company around.

Titan Towers: May 1996

The recent departures of Scott Hall and Kevin Nash have thrown all of the future plans Vince McMahon had out the window. An emergency meeting is being held to determine the direction the company is going to take. Included in the meeting are head of talent relations Jim Ross, the members of the booking team, Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco, head booker Vince Russo, and WWF loyalist and ring veteran Gorilla Monsoon. Not officially apart of the meeting is Shane McMahon, who was simply around when his father called the meeting.

Vince McMahon: Thank you all for coming in on such short notice gentlemen. You all know my son Shane. I asked him here to see how I handle things if I ever need him to fill in for me. Now then, we need to decide what we are going to do about this dip in ratings we have received over the last few weeks. On top of that we have to figure what is to be done about the loss of Hall and Nash. We planned on putting the world championship around Hall's waist so now we need to figure out a back up plan. Ideas?

Vince Russo: Vince for the last few years we have slowly been shifting toward an edgier product, why not use the loss of Razor and Diesel to bring in some females we can parade around as eye candy? I mean, look at how well the audience has responded to Sunny. Could you imagine the reaction when there are several more hot babes like her around. I hear Mero's wife is quite the looker and he already expressed interest in bringing her in so there is one right there. Can you see it now Vince. Bikini contest, wet t-shirt "accidents" and matches that require clothes to be ripped off. The teen boys will eat it up!

Vince McMahon: Interesting idea, anyone else have anything?

Jim Ross: If I may. What we need to do is build up Shawn Michaels as the boy living his dream, so when Brett returns you can have turn his dream into a nightmare. I see these guys trading wins and the title back and forth for the better part of the year. Then, at WrestleMania you can have the match to settle the score. A one hour long Iron Man Match.

Vince McMahon: Sounds good Jim, but I doubt either one will go for it. Those two really don't get along and if either of them decided they didn't want to lose the title, then I would really be in a bind. I've heard of owners "screwing" guys in matches before, but I just couldn't see myself doing that to either of them. Especially not to Brett.

Gerald Brisco: Why not build up The Undertaker? We could do a whole religious angle and maybe even involve your daughter Stephanie as one of Undertaker's victims. We could have Taker form his own church with followers, no Acolytes. It could be big money Vince.

Vince McMahon: Are you crazy [/b]Gerry[/b]? A religious angle after what I was put through for the steroid scandal! And as far as involving Stephanie, well she is never getting near this business again. I made that mistake once and I won't do it again!

Pat Patterson: I hear good things about Rocky Johnson's kid down in USWA. He goes by the name, Flex Kavanagh or something stupid like that. Anyway, they say the kid is a real natural. Maybe we could turn him into the next Hogan.

Vince McMahon: Sounds like a intriguing idea Pat, but that won't solve our immediate needs. People you need to think bigger.

Gorilla Monsoon: I got an idea I've been kicking around. How about an NWA invasion! We could build it up as the NWA wanting to destroy you for breaking away all those years ago. We could even drop hints that WCW is involved. I know Ron Simmons and Barry Windham need jobs so we could bring them in as the muscle early on. Then, we have Cornette turn on Owen and Davey and introduce a new Midnight Express. After that we could just sort of make it up as we go along.

Vince McMahon: A NWA invasion? Who would believe that one company could invade another in this day and age? Maybe back when my father ran the company, but now a days...good luck. If there are no other ideas, then I guess we'll go with Russo's...

Shane McMahon: I got an idea pop.

Vince McMahon: I must say I didn't expect that, but let's hear it Shane.

Shane McMahon: The biggest match in WWF history is Hogan/Andre, not because we used cheap gimmicks or fake tits. The match was great because we had captured the hearts of the audience and they suspended their disbelief and allowed themselves to believe. We don't need to find a quick fix gentlemen, because we have everything we need already. We just need to utilize it better. This company can be great again, you just have to believe.

Vince McMahon: God damn boy! You got my vote. Gentlemen I believe the course of action is clear. Now if you will excuse me, I need to discuss some legal matters with the new head booker of WWF...Shane McMahon!

Shane McMahon: I won't let you down pop. I just need to talk to you about getting my own booking committee....

Here comes the money!

Hey guys, just curious if it's okay to edit the cornellverse for a diary? I started a game where SWF pulls it's development territory from RIPW to PSW and started playing as RIPW with a depleted roster, hostility towards SWF and PSW, and seeing where it would go.

Is that kosher?

That was the basis for my old RIPW diary and nobody seemed to care. So I would say go for it.

I think he meant that nobody seemed to care that it was an edited Cornellverse, rather than nobody seemed to care about the dynasty. ;)

I've also done an RIPW-breaks-away dynasty back in 2008, but it didn't last long. ¬_¬ Someone else did a much more successful one, but I forget who.

The day was pretty gloomy to start with with overcast conditions really sucking away any excitement from the life, the situation similar to my life.

I am Ares, or more famous within the American wrestling fraternity as "God of War".

Till few months ago, i was the head booker of GWS or Guerrilla Wrestling Syndicate. I shed my blood, sweat and tears for this company for 2 years and gave them the impetus that they needed, giving our fans hot storylines, making new stars and bringing new faces but yet, i was given the boot.

Those douchebags claimed that i had halted the growth of the company which was entirely untrue. Our attendance has tripled from 2 years ago, we had created new stars and yet i was made the scapegoat just because i signed a couple of guys and our company was not in the top 15 of the world.

Are you ******g kidding me?? We were involved month in month out in regional battles with more established promotions like Club and Wrestle-X and so this is expected. On one hand, they talk about bringing revolution, being rebels and on other hand, they cower at the first sight of disappointment and start the blame game.

Well, f**k them and f**k GWS. One thing i have known from this experience is that you need to create your own legacy with your own hands, nobody will be there for you when the going gets tough.

Yes, offers were coming in left and right but i shivered to take any of them. Because if the same thing happens again after another couple of years, i will be screwed again.

So, what next?? I thought hard and hard and finally the idea hit me.

The promotion which promotes it as a serious contest, which brings a sense of respect and gives the wrestlers the will to go and give their best every single night.

Based in Mid South (as we will not have competition from the start),

here comes

How would you do it in game? It would be good if you edited the database to add in a tiny promotion, tiny venue of you address and a handful of very young workers with zero popularity and talent but with a lot of potential.</p>

Interesting idea. I'd probably say C-Verse for your question...

---

The late Trenton Evenrud founded the promotion Awesome Max Wrestling in 1995. For over 6 long years, the promotion was marred with both poor business decisions (see: Big Smack Scott hiring a stripper, Big Smack Scott shooting on Trenton Evenrud), and Trenton spending the company's money on himself eventually leading to all of AMW's funds being cashed out by him, and the promotion close. So, how come I, a 18 year old guy, took over the promotion?

My father was a backstage producer in the AMW, and he was friends with Evenrud. When Evenrud passed away a couple of weeks ago, one of the things he put in his will was $250,000 to me, as my father passed away a 4 years ago in a car crash, to revive him. Of course, he's not going to be handling the company...I will.

And thus, the story of how Awesome Max Wrestling was revived...and for me to be unwillingly the owner. Only this time...I'll make things right!

-Awesome Max Wrestling: True Wrestling, no Wrestlecrap crap.
