Thanks for the help guys, that is all really helpful. I really wanted to avoid him coming off as American with just enough of the accent to remind every one of that, everything you guys said will help immensely. I live in the Midwestern USA, I haven't met anyone with any kind of accent in years.

It's a hard thing to nail down really because you have some very different accents all within Lancashire, or at least it seems like that to people who live there. I'm actually from Lancaster too, and I'm often told that the Lancaster accent is quite different to Lancashire. It's interesting to think where Cornell could be from, because if it was real world it would make sense for him to be around here, there's a couple of wrestling shows on in the next few weeks alone, but obviously it's completely different in the C-Verse.

I think I disagree that he will have picked up a lot of American terms though, although it makes sense to speak the 'language' of your audience, I think especially with him being such a heel it would make sense for him to use English words as much as possible to make him stand out. Sort of like I know you don't use these words but I couldn't care less sort of thing.

Anyway apologies for adding to a conversation that was all wrapped up... Just strange to read that someone on here is from Lancaster!

I kinda posted this in E-V's dynasty but i figured i'd ask here as well.

One of the things that keeps me from doing my own dynasty is presentation. I see a lot of great ones out there, Eisen-verse's is a great example of how i'd like to present mine.

Thing is, i'm not sure what everyone uses to write their dynasties and how to make it look right on the boards. I was hoping i could get some advice and tips to make a solid and good looking set up that will work for one should i decide to take the plunge.

I an using wordpad currently but while i can get it to look kinda like i want, i'm not sure how to transfer that look and style to tbe boards. It never comes out looking the way it does in wordpad. I could use suggestions on what programs to use and tricks/tips to get it looking right.

Hope that made some sense. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Find a diary with formatting you like, then click "Quote". Copy that text into your wordpad, and you'll be able to see what tags/code they've used. It's fairly simple. Putting [ b ] and [ / b ] around a bit of text makes it bold (minus the spaces). [ I ] for italic. [ center ] to center. Put [ IMG ] and [ / IMG ] around the url for a picture to make it show up. There are fancier things though. Tables look cool. I don't understand them, but man, they're pretty.

I usually have a template which I change for different diaries. It also makes it a lot quicker to write up shows. The box thing that was mentioned is...

< div style=" border: 2px solid black";" >

< /div >

but without the spaces at the beginning and end.

You can change it around by changing what is put in the first part... the 2px thing is how thick the border, the solid is that the box is a simple line, and you can change black to whatever you want.

I also personally think indenting the whole thing can help a lot, and that's really simple to do. If you want something to do a lot of that work for you, Crayon's diary app is really useful, I use it for one of my diaries.

 • 2 weeks later...

I'm currently in the early planning stages of a TCW diary in which the basic back story is that the company have decided that in order to challenge SWF they need to attract a more mainstream audience. This might mean that the company goes public and so not unlike the WWE are forced to play it safe for lack of a better term and only push people they know will make money. But I'm not sure about that part yet.

Either way, this means I want to create the dynamic of wanting to appease the more hardcore crowd and yet having to appeal to a large demographic/make money as it's something I find interesting in current WWE.

So to do this I need your help! Below are two surveys, for the first one I want you to answer it as if you were a true mark for wrestling. You buy into kayfabe perhaps even to the point of thinking wrestling is real. You might want to think like a six year old or whatever helps. For the second survey I'd like you to answer it as if you are a die hard part of the internet wrestling community. You don't buy into kayfabe as much and instead rate wrestlers more on their perceived abilities, whether that be in the ring or on the mic. You could imagine your that smart mark puppet or again, whatever helps.

So...

Survey 1 = mark

Survey 2 = IWC

I know you could argue that I could use in game popularity and ratings to do this but I think it is a bit more than that. For example in WWE you could say people like Kingston, Ryder and even Santino are fan favourites even though they aren't so popular in TEW terms. Also it will just be interesting to see what everyone else thinks, it can only help when it comes to the diary. In terms of how it will affect the diary... people that do well on the first survey I will force myself to push as they are the people that would make TCW money. The second survey will help determine which fans have an internet following/are despised by the internet. Survey 2 won't affect the booking as much, but will be used in the diary at points. Hopefully this means that the diary will seem realistic rather than me simply hiring all the usual people and pushing the obvious ones.

For any readers of my SAW diary, season two will be up tonight/tomorrow. These plans shouldn't impact that diary at all because I don't think I will start this until SAW is finished. I just want to make sure I plan this TCW diary well before I start it.

Thank you for anyone that takes the time out to do it!

P.S It's only 5 questions, and when answering them feel free to tick as many or a few people as you like.

Just saying a quick thanks to everyone who has responded, very happy with the amount of voters. Also pleased with the results, it's close enough to what I personally think to tell me that people answered it how I meant for it to be answered but there are also some that surprised me so that makes it worthwhile.

This may not be the right place for it as I know there is a thread just for discussing theme songs but I guess this is the preview and questions thread. I'm picking the entrance songs for everyone. People voted that my SAW diary would benefit from them so I imagine it's the same with this, plus it has really helped some people stand out to me. Only person I really can't find a good one for is Tommy Cornell and obviously he is one of the most important ones. So does anybody have any ideas?? I'm considering 'London Calling' by The Clash, even though I don't think he is meant to be from London it still makes sense, but I'm sure someone must have a better idea?

So I suppose it depends how I'm going to use him. Thanks for the help.

1988.

The Berlin Wall is on the brink of coming down and the tanks are preparing to roll into Tiananmen Square. The decade of decadence is set to end bring about the end of the first phase of the Cold War and, at the same time, strengthen the grip of Communist oppression. Just like other times, wrestling reflects reality...

It is 1988 in the National Wrestling Alliance and the Cold War has been raging for four years since Vince McMahon aggressively expanded into other markets. Attempts to join together to bring down the monster have failed... but can the smaller companies finally band together to provide the alternative that wrestling desperately needs?

February has seen Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan clash once again in the Main Event and the big question on most people's lips is can Ted DiBiase walk away from Wrestlemania IV as the WWF World Champion as many people expect him too?

It's not on everyone's lips though... Jim Crockett Jr for one. He thinks that this, the begininng of the end of the Golden Age of Wrestilng could be the time when his company rises again from the ashes... it is time to bring everything to the WWF fight...

War

Pestilence

Famine

and

Death

The Four Horsemen are coming... and like the tanks in Tiananman square, they will stop for nothing and nobody... The fightback is coming Vince... and you should be very, very careful... your next move could be decisive...

Everything was coming up roses for the Smacker. We were booked to win a tag team battle royal at Christmas Clash, for the right to face the reigning champs, boring and mechanical Dean "American Machine" Ansell and the biggest linebacker bust since Brian Bosworth, another illiterative oaf named Des Davids. They called themselves The All-Americans? Talk about a boring name. I asked Peter if we could call ourselves Scott Mustafa and Khalid Abdul-Laramee or somethin' to get more heat, but he was blunt with his rejection - this isn't the '80s anymore, so no more Americans masquerading as evil foreigners. Anyway, where was I? We were supposed to win that battle royal and win the belts from Ansell and Davids in January, at When Hell Freezes Over.
How much backstory (or behind the scenes stuff) would be good to have if I was running a combination Swoop Hard Challenge/4 Friends start a new company?

The 4 I'm thinking of are:

KC Glenn, Storm Spillane, Marvel Malloy, and either El Mitico Jr OR Masked Stranger.

I'm leaning towards Masked Stranger if only to fit with the whole Florida theme. Glenn isn't explicitly from Florida, but whatever...

With the exception of Spillane and Malloy, I would follow the hiring rules for the Swoop Hard challenge, but I'm guessing perhaps 1 year in I would be willing to roll the dice on a big name.

Anyone interested in joining myself and christmas_ape in doing a three way dynasty? The idea is for it be based around one umbrella "corporation" with three (to start off with) separate branches. I've claimed Mexico whilst CA has claimed the USA. If interested, send either me or CA (or both if you are cool like that) a PM. :)
