Diary Preview And Questions Thread

Recommended Posts

I've been playing (well, maybe it's more accurate to say 'failing') since TEW 08 and have been feeling the urge to post a diary ever since I read BigPapa's incredible Generation Supreme diary.

I'm about to run my third show in my RtG EXTREMELY-LITE game as the United Kingdom Wrestling Federation and have been documenting it privately so far, but once I've got a bit more material in hand I'll be posting it here.

Would anyone be interested in a RTG Game being posted mainly for the results. Not for any story involved in it really. I am considering posting mine in here just am not sure.

Current Game:

1987 RTG

Potential Games:

Thunderverse RTG

C-Verse RTG (had it but decided to delete it)

1994 Real World RTG

2001 Real World RTG

Would any of these be interesting? I would try to craft a backstory and come up with an off screen storyline for whichever game if I did post it.

I have been itching to do a diary for a long time. Thoughts and opinions?

Betrayal: The Punch Heard Around the World

Christmas Clash 2012 will be a day that no one in the wrestling world will forget. Broken promises stepped all over twelve years of loyalty and led to the events that happened last night at the final pay-per-view of the year for Supreme Wrestling Federation.

Remo Richardson was scheduled for one of the larger matches of the night when he took the mic and started to explain he was there without a contract and how he would get one tonight or he would walk out. Many thought it was a work up until he had his mic cut and several people from backstage came out. Eric Eisen was at the front of it all looking irate and possibly relaying a message from his father, but even he couldn't have seen what happened next.

One punch. One punch knocked Eric Eisen out cold and Remo was escorted out of the building and more than likely to the police department. He was later released on bond and has not spoken to the media for his reasonings. Needless to say it wasn't long after that an article was put on SWF's website that Remo will never be back after the incident. Remo's profile has since been removed and all merchandise pulled from their store.

Already many are speculating he will show up in one of the promotions competing against SWF. It is more a matter of when he will show up and where?

(OOC: A bit of something roaming in my mind and an excuse to actually play with a company above regional size for the first time ever for me. Might not start right away since I want to really think on things and the direction, but wanted to jot this down while it was a bit fresh on the mind.)

I definitely think a diary can be good even if its post mainly for the results, aslong as the general direction of the game is interesting. For example even if you never watched ECW/WCW/WWF in the attitude era, there's still an interesting story there.

I've been wanting to do a similar thing but with another person or two for a while now infact. (if anyone is interested let me know!)

I think you should go for it, personally any but the thunderverse one sounds good to me, but that's just because I've never gotten into it, I'm sure there's a demand.

Inspired by codey's non-canon portrayal of Spencer Spade, (I'ma stab you in the face, codey, if you take the title from me >_>) I have a BSS diary in mind.

Of course, given that I have that whole 8-character diary going on, this might never see the light of...this website.

HOWEVER!

It will be Big Smack Scott as I have never characterized him before.

...

well, sorta.

Debating trying to get another diary going now that I've bought Total Extreme Wrestling 2013. I had one years back called "Time To Play The Game" which plodded along nicely with views, and it really helped give my game some direction.

This wouldn't be anything too fancy - just my take on a real world game. I started the game in January 2013, but this would pick up the night after my Wrestlemania to avoid being too familiar. Here's the introduction, any thoughts?

WWE: As You Were

Recently, in the WWE…

After the immensely successful Wrestlemania XXIX, WWE officials made the announcement that the brand split was being reinstated, effective immediately.

It’s not all been rosy for the company in 2013, though. On Wednesday in the third week of January, Vincent Kennedy McMahon passed away in a drug-related death at the age of 67. Ownership was kept with the Board of Directors, fronted by the McMahon family, but the mood backstage dampened for a while after his passing.

WWE finally got back to its best with Wrestlemania, headlined by a phenomenal title match seeing Royal Rumble winner Dolph Ziggler pinning The Rock for the WWE Championship.

Elsewhere on the card, Davey Richards won in the finals of a 16-man tournament to be crowned the new Intercontinental Champion which was vacated after Wade Barrett didn’t defend it for over two months. WWE Tag Team Champions Rhodes Scholars continued their newfound dominance on the tag ranks with a win over Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd, while Antonio Cesaro retained the United States Title in the opening match against Montel Vontavious Porter.

Brock Lesnar also shocked the world after earning a shot at Alberto Del Rio’s World Heavyweight Title following his Elimination Chamber win. Rival Chris Jericho – who had successfully battled Ziggler for his Money in the Bank briefcase – cashed in to insert himself into the match, but it was Lesnar who won the gold.

The show was completed by non-titles matches seeing reunited Show-Miz bested by Randy Orton and Wade Barrett and Dean Ambrose defeated John Morrison, whilst his Shield cohorts defeated Ryback in a handicap match.

While John Cena – who recently turned his back on the WWE Universe – and Sheamus missed the event, they did meet in the ring to set up a match at WWE Extreme Rules after the Doctor of Thuganomics turned on his former friend following their loss to The Shield at Elimination Chamber.

Quick Wrestlemania results (winner in bold)

United States Championship: Antonio Cesaro © vs. Montel Vontavious Porter

Kane vs. Daniel Bryan

Dean Ambrose vs. John Morrison

Ryback vs. The Shield (Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns)

Intercontinental Championship Tournament Final: Davey Richards vs. Santino Marella

Show-Miz vs. Randy Orton and Wade Barrett

CM Punk vs. The Undertaker

WWE Tag Team Championship: The Rhode Scholars © vs. International Assault

World Heavyweight Championship: Alberto Del Rio © vs. Brock Lesnar vs. Chris Jericho

WWE Championship: The Rock © vs. Dolph Ziggler

Where are we now?

With many new signings and an added focus on the brand split hoping to reinvigorate the WWE, the future is looking bright.

Planning on a continuation of my Rise and Fall of Hollyweird dynasty now that the C-Verse 1997 mod is out. I'll be picking up from the one-year anniversary of Hollyweird being in TV once I get the database advanced by a year...

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x15/arwink/HollyweirdEraBanner1998_zpsec47f591.jpg

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x15/arwink/MarkSmart.jpg

Mark Smart stands outside Stallings Arena in the UK, neatly dressed in a dark suit and a t-shirt emblazoned with the old Hollyweird logo.

"In 1997 an upstart company funded by a teenage millionaire emerged as the first real challenger to the Supreme Wrestling Federation's dominance of the American industry. With a host of house-hold names on its roster, state of the art production, and the kind of bankroll most start-up businesses can only dream of, it seemed inconceivable that Hollyweird Grappling could fail.

"Yet the first year of Hollyweird was marked with turmoil: Creative differences emerged between the head booker and the company's teenage owner; talent grew restless as the promotions rise proved less than meteoric; television deals which originally favoured the fledgling promotion were renegotiated, forcing the company to rely heavily on its cash reserves in order to stay afloat.

"The company fans had hoped would grow to rival Richard Eisen's juggernaut seemed to have stalled, alternately a pale reflection of Supreme's in-ring style or a promotion hearkening back to the more traditional promotions Eisen had already driven out of business in the early eighties. While the competition in the East Coast Wars drove the companies involved to new creative heights, it seemed there was no chance of such competition occurring on the national level.

"Then, seemingly overnight, things started to change.

"These days the period between 1998 and the turn of the millennium are acknowledged as part of Hollyweird's creative peak, a boom period that would plant the seeds for the company that eventually became Total Championship Wrestling.

"For years fans have wondered why things took off and when they finally went wrong, setting off the chain of events that led to the death of JK Stallings' company and the growth of Tommy Cornell's.

"Today, we take another trip down memory lane and revisit Hollyweird boom period with the men and women who were there, telling the story week-by-week through the memories of those involved. Once again, Fans who want to relive the action alongside the memories can find many of these episodes in the online TCW Legacy archive, and we encourage you to seek the episodes out to get the full experience as we follow HGC through its hottest period.

“Ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to Hollyweird...”

Monday, Week 1, January 1997

  • Apparently Sam Strong has met up with all the talent signed to HGC today to discuss their roles in the company. He will be in charge of putting shows together as Stallings' head of the booking team. It is believe that Sam Strong is the best payed worker on the planet at the moment and is reported making more money than anybody in the business has before - so it's good to hear he seems he's taking the role seriously.

  • Tomorrow night is set to be a huge night with Stallings and the networks that HGC will be running on going into overdrive to try and promote Hollyweird TV.

  • HGC's TV show tomorrow night is being treated as “the premier of Hollyweird TV” - HGC have so far ran 4 TV shows in what was a 'trial run', which were filmed over two tapings in a TV studio, but have officially packaged their show as “Hollyweird TV” and are treating this as the first episode, as they go head to head with SWF for the first time. The commercials for the episode have been using the footage of the previous shows to promote the diversity of the roster highlighting the cruiserweight, tag team division, hardcore division and of course the legends such as Dread, Rip Chord, Sam Strong and so on – they've also done a particularly good job of integrating their 'new stars' such as Peter Valentine, Liberty and BLZ Bubb into the commercial making them feel like big names in their own right. They are currently signed for a six month run before the networks decide if they want to continue the arrangement – this works both ways and HGC will be free to move to different networks if they wish, with no binding contract past the current deal.

  • SWF don't seem to have made an extra special effort to combat the hype around HGC and are advertising a confrontation between Bruce The Giant and Christian Faith as the selling point of the episode. It is felt within SWF – particularly by Richard Eisen – that HGC pose no threat and are more than likely a flash in the pan.

  • However, there really is a buzz around everyone I've spoke to both in and outside of HGC about a potential historic night as what is being dubbed as the “Tuesday Night Rating War” commences – there is an optimism that this could really push the SWF to up their game and potentially lead to a very successful period for wrestling in general. While some feel the optimism is premature, this really is, even in it's infancy the biggest threat to SWF since they expanded onto a national stage.

  • Set to be at HGC's first live broadcast are Sam Strong, Rip Chord, Dread, Richie Pangrazzio Jr. and Romeo Heartthrob, all of who have main evented SWF shows in the past. That is not to say there will not be a lot of new talent but those names are top of the billing.

  • Tickets are still available for the show, which is being held in the V. Thompson Arena. HGC are apparently still confident of a sell-out with “a few hundred” tickets left on sale. With 10,000 people in the arena it will certainly give a different feel to the previous HGC tapings which feature a few hundred at a TV studio.

    http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/HGC-1.jpg

I keep having ideas so I don't want to rush anything as I've already written an episode of a 21CW diary, two of a USPW diary and since have gone off both ideas, but I've just written a rough post for HGC 1997 as the mod and the promotion have really grabbed my interest especially playing as Sam Strong, who I'm looking to really get into the mind of while booking which means, big guys and more importantly his friends getting good pushes. This is more a way to stop me signing all the good indy talent that is available (and there's lots of it).

As a huge wrestling fan in the 90s, I remember a night coming home from the bars at 2am and turining on the TV and stumbling upon this wrestling show from a company I have never heard of and was instantly hooked. So like most ECW fans I was very upset when they were purchased by Vince's Evil Empire, and even more pissed by that poor excuse of a show they tried to run.

So I had a couple of ideas:

First would be to take over in 1994 and relive the history in my own eyes.

Second would have Vince taking a big financial hit and in his desperation to recoup some money, sell the ECW name and assets (titles, lineage, etc..) to an unknown investor who would reopen the company,

I MIGHT also be starting my own HGC diary set in 1997, this time based on the Heidenreich challenge. Either that, or focus on one of the smaller promotions, or go 0/0/0/0. Thinking of the best way to go for my "side project" diary...

The idea for the HGC diary:

- JK Stallings Jr., nerdy 16-year-old gazillionaire and owner of HGC, hires the school bully of "The Verb", Verbum Dei High School in Los Angeles as his new head booker. Unfortunately, it looks like Roman Heidenseik, the school bully, will not be graduating with the rest of his class at the rate his grades are going. With that in mind, Heidenseik drops out and decides to work for the kid he used to wedgie on a regular basis.

- Heidenseik will be wrestling as Rome Strong (tentative name), Sam Strong's kayfabe son. And he'll also be cutting promos that start out with "LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, BROTHER!"

- At first, Heidenseik and Stallings will definitely not get along well due to their antagonistic relationship in school. But they will learn to work together, and eventually become friends.

WCW WEEKLY RUMBLINGS

Extended Deals And Signings

-With Eric Bischoff now at the helm of World Championship Wrestling, everyone can expect some changes. Some of them are positive and some of them are negative. Here we can report that Terry Taylor extended his deal and that former WCW/NWA wrestler 'White Lightning' Tim Horner has signed with the company. Rumors are that he will be re-forming the team known as The Lightning Express with Brad Armstrong. Other signings have been made but have not been announced by WCW as of press time.

Tag Team Wrestling On The Rise?

-A recent interview with Eric Bischoff has him announcing that he is going to put an increased focus on tag team wrestling as part of the future of WCW. Right now WCW has several tag teams looking to work their way up the rankings, including the team of Booker T and Stevie Ray who are known as Harlem Heat. Other teams include the Bad Attitude pairing of Bobby Eaton and Steve Keirn, the Pretty Wonderful duo of Paul Orndorff and Paul Roma, the Stars 'N' Stripes team which includes The Patriot and Marcus Bagwell and, of course, the WCW World Tag Team champions Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan. Rumor has it that more teams will be coming to WCW as the weeks and months push forward.

WWF Monday Night Raw Taping

-In the main event for this company, Razor Ramon defeated Diesel in a 'B' rated match. The only other match on the card was The New Foundation defeating Men On A Mission. They also had a skit involving The Undertaker and Randy Savage. Overall, Monday Night Raw scores a 'B+' on the Ryland scale.

ECW Hardcore TV Taping

-In the main event for ECW Hardcore TV, The Sandman teams with 2 Cold Scorpio to defeat Sabu and Ron Harris in a 'B-' rated match. Other matches on the card included Dory Funk Jr. defeating WCW wrestler Cactus Jack and Mikey Whipwreck defeating Big Tilly. Other moments on the card included a brawl between Cactus Jack, Shane Douglas and Terry Funk and a confrontation between Jimmy Snuka and Johnny Grunge. The show scores a 'C+' on the Ryland scale.

WCW Saturday Night TV Taping

-Make sure you come tonight for the taping of WCW Saturday Night! Announced matches so far include Terry Funk taking on 'Das Wunderkind' Alex Wright, Lord Steven Regal defending the WCW World Television title against Scott Stud, Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan defending the WCW World Tag Team titles against the long-time pairing of The State Patrol, Jean-Paul Levesque in action and a non title match between WCW United States Heavyweight champion 'Stunning' Steve Austin and the WCW Franchise Sting! Plus more, including an appearance by the WCW World Champion Ric Flair and one of the newest signings to WCW, 'The Immortal' Hulk Hogan!

This is more of a question that may factor into my diary, does anybody know anything about Enzo Amore from NXT? I can't find any info on him either on wikipedia or OWW. He looks like a great character on the official site so any info to help create him would be handy.

The only place I can see anything about him (and it's not much) is here:

Edit: Just had a look at youtube at his "Eric Anthony" name and I think this promo is him too:

He's previously gone by "EA All Day" Eric Anthony, so do a search by that name too.
