TEW2020 Attribute Suggestion Thread

<p>Personality attribute:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Vain</strong>: This worker is exceedingly preoccupied with and protective of their looks. They are much less likely to agree to lose their hair in a match, but slightly more willing to lose their mask.</p><p> </p><p>

If the willingness to lose their mask can be or is tied to the mask's prestige, I'd probably have it something like much more willing for a mask with low prestige, somewhat more willing for one with middling prestige, and slightly more willing for a mask with high prestige. I don't think this should affect how much money they'd ask, though, as that could be determined by other attributes.</p>

<p>Here's some ideas, although not 100% sure if they've already been suggested and/or put in.</p><p> </p><p>

For Wrestlers:</p><p>

<strong>Industry Veteran</strong>: A worker with many years of experience as a wrestler, more open to putting over younger talent with above average or higher star quality, and has an increased chance of opening up a school/dojo.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Light Starer</strong>: A worker who has accepted his role as an undercard performer, and will never complain about losses. Can never be pushed higher than Lower Midcard. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Man</strong>: A worker who is humble despite being very popular. Increases positive backstage atmosphere and is more likely to develop positive relationships with workers below the upper midcard. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bro</strong>: This worker is a true bro, always hanging with friends and working out in the gym. Is more prone to addictions to steroids, but increases the backstage atmosphere when happy, and is more likely to develop relationships with workers who are male and have a body rated "Toned" or "Muscular". </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>True Friend</strong>: A worker who loves his friends, and wants to spend every moment with them. More likely to ask about potentially hiring workers with which they have positive relationships.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Singles Star</strong>: A worker known for having singles bouts. Bonuses to in-ring performances in 1v1 Matches, but penalties to matches with more than 2 workers.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Lover</strong>: More likely to develop dating or marriage relationships. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bloody Brawler</strong>: A psychopath who receives bonuses when placed in hardcore or spot based matches. Can have positive impacts on the backstage of hardcore companies, and negative on companies against hardcore.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Arrogant Figurehead</strong>: A worker who is known as the face of a company. Will threaten to leave, ask for higher pay and/or develop a "Hatred" relationship with the owner/booker of the company when taken out of the figurehead role.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>True Figurehead</strong>: A worker who is known as the face of a company but does not complain when faced with the idea of being removed as the face. Is more willing to put over younger workers if past 40. </p><p> </p><p>

These are for Owners/Bookers</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Eye For Talent</strong>: Scouting levels are raised higher for this person, and they are more likely to find hot prospects and future stars when hiring.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>I Don't Care</strong>: An Owner/Booker who takes no outside influence into their creative process. Can be a negative force on locker rooms where Storylines are required, and is more prone to developing negative relationships with workers.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Take A Seat</strong>: An Owner/Booker who is completely open to creative ideas from workers. Is more likely to listen and develop positive relationships with workers and other staff, and is a positive influence on all locker rooms.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>New Era Enthusiast</strong>: An Owner/Booker who follows the trends of the industry, and is constantly changing their company's product to match what is hot - regardless of how workers and fans feel. Is more prone to running their company into the ground and making mistakes.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Old School Enthusiast</strong>: Someone who settles on a product and rarely changes it. Is better at keeping the locker room together and successfully running a company.</p><p> </p><p>

If possible, Owner/Booker personalities could be used instead of booker/owner skills? (Obviously Booker/Owner Reputation would still exist, but attributes for their business sense might be easier for modmakers and/or allow for many different styles of AI management and events? I dunno, just figured I'd put this here after realizing there aren't personality types exclusive to owners/bookers).</p>

<p>I think a lot of what I've got here could group some previously mentioned ones into as well as expanding them a bit.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>For The Love Of The Business</strong> - Loves to wrestle, willing to take bookings at a cheaper price, especially if the promotion has put on high scoring matches, performs better against those with similar or higher skills.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>For The Love Of Business</strong> - Looks at the industry as a business, focused on maximising their worth within the industry, frequently reviews their contract, will oppose booking ideas that may seriously affect their image/ability to work/be injured.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Controlling The Book</strong> - If they are in a owner/booker position, they will focus on pushing themselves/blood relations/anyone loyal to them into higher positions.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Backseat Booking</strong> - If they are in a owner/booker position, they will focusing on pushing the best talent for the promotion, if they are a star in the company they are more willing to use their position elevate others.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Don't Give Up The Day Job</strong> - They have a 9-5 weekday day job, if they are booked on a weekday, they can only travel to their based region and an adjacent region, any further and they may not show up, willing to take open contracts over written.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

I'd also mirror other suggestions on adding gambling to the addition list, along with the possibility of other sports under misc, maybe in a way that excludes them from wrestling during the season which may increase skills and injuries.</p>

Stagefright-Does better in backstage angles and promos

Feeds off the crowd-Does better in -in ring promos

 

Natural Underdog-Looks better in losing in matches and angles. There's already one for playing underdog gimmicks but people like Zack Gowen naturally draw more sympathy....

 

There could be attributes for product style preferences....

Shooting Star Chaser A worker who actively attempts to form relationships/cliques with up and coming stars.

 

Fame Seeker A worker who doesn't care about wrestling, but is using it to try and gain fame so they can move on to other avenues (acting, music, reality tv etc...)

 

Model A worker who does a lot of outside modeling work for websites or magazines that doesn't tend to be wrestling related.

 

Star Maker A worker who likes to work with and "Make" younger wrestlers that are seen as future stars. This could help simulate guys who aren't shy about putting over young stars, even if they don't have a great backstage personality (ala Scott Hall with 123 Kid and Jericho)

 

Good Friend to Have A worker who is almost always willing to put over a friend, regardless of push/popularity.

 

Jealous Lover Has an increased chance of having negative relationships with friends of their lover and any exes. Also increased chance of negative relationships with any love interests an ex has.

 

Jack of all Trades More able to adapt to most others in the ring and while tagging, less likely to get negative chemistry as a result.

Workhorse Worker suffers minimal penalties for working multiple matches

 

Void Worker suffers on Microphone and Entertainment segments

 

Glass Jaw Increases chance of a injury during angle segments

 

Safety Net Decreases the chance of injury for worker and others working with him/her

 

Scientist Chemistry from this worker is high

 

Baggage This worker can carry most workers to a better segment than without

Casanova: Someone who is in serial relationships with his/her coworkers. Typically high sex appeal and likeable, but can also cause scandals/incidents, due to their nature of coming between people.

 

Fantastic Entrance: In modern wrestling, especially mainstream companies, entrances are a big part of getting over. Crowd's are hot for the match before it even begins.

 

All About Their Brand: This worker isn't necessarily a jerk, but they are hard to sell ideas to because they take their character WAY too seriously. This type of worker might always ask for a "Keep Strong" booking note if they lose, or have issues with losing in certain scenarios.

Big In Japan: Someone who naturally has better matches and gains popularity and skills faster while working in Japan. They'll learn Japanese more quickly than others.

 

Edit: I should also add Small In Japan: A native born worker from Japan who finds more success outside of Japan. Their popularity in their home country will always stay relatively small, but they'll become more famous outside the country. They'll learn English more quickly than others.

 

One Hit Wonder: (NB: This could just be a very low consistency skill on steroids.) Someone who is more likely to have an amazing 1st match for a new employer and gains a considerable rise in popularity, but then fades away into obscurity as their match ratings tumble. They are prone to getting released often, but somehow keep getting hired by companies thinking they can replicate their one great match. This worker should also have a high percentage of leaving the business within 5 years.

Apologises if some of these have already been suggested, I did look through but after a bit everything kind of blurs together.

 

Master Politician: Worker is more likely to form backstage cliques.

 

Political Amnesty: Worker prefers to avoid being a part of a backstage clique.

 

Volatile Politician: Worker is likely to develop negative relationships between their clique stable mates and non clique members.

 

Positive Partner: Worker has a higher chance of having a positive chemistry note when forming a new tag team.

 

One Man Raid: While unemployed a worker is likely to try and highjack a show as an audience member to get some notice. (Think Enzo at the Survivor Series.)

 

One Man Business: The Worker has a higher chance of going off script and into business for themselves in a match. (Think Koji Kitao shooting on Earthquake in a match in Japan.)

Free Spirit - Will not sign an exclusive contract. The worker could want to work for as many companies as possible at a time. Different from freelancer in that you could sign this worker to a long term (non-exclusive) deal.

 

Loyalist - Will only work for 1 company at a time, even if on a non-exclusive contract.

 

Monolinguist - Will never learn new languages.

Talked to my brother and he gave me a few more

 

Part Timer - This person won't sign on to work more than a PPVs only contract.

 

Mr Unpopular - The road agent note "The fans were not excited to see this worker wrestle" is more likely to show up

 

Center of Attention - This worker is more likely to show up in backstage incidents before the show

 

Garbage collector - Can carry even the worst of wrestlers to a good match. Bonuses are added when against a wrestler whose in ring skills are far worse than theirs

 

Golden Tongue - No matter the situation this worker will bring it on the mic

 

Historic Rivalry - This might be a little too complicated for the system, but ideally this would work as a shared attribute between 2 workers or teams that would add bonuses for having classic matches/feuds against each other, with bonuses added due to the fans remembering the history between the 2. Real world examples of this would be Okada/Tanahashi, New Day/Usos, or Cena/Styles with potential penalties for overuse. This attribute could also disappear if both wrestlers are in the same promotion for long enough and don't interact with each other or if both get signed to bigger promotions where the fans wouldn't know the history between the wrestlers, so that way we don't have USPW fans all somehow knowing the history between 2 people in SNP or something like that.

 

Match Specialist - This worker gets a bonus for worker match types they are good at

 

David/Goliath - This worker gets bonuses for work with people bigger/smaller than they are

One more as well:

 

Natural Champion - This worker is the type who makes any belt they hold feel important. Because of this belts gain prestige more easily when on this person. The worker takes the roll of champion very seriously and puts in their best effort as champion or in title matches, which of course gives their matches boosts. However, since they are so dedicated to holding their titles they may not want to drop it to people they consider not ready or lower on the card.

Irrepressible has two s's, and I think it'd be fine to put the NB just at the top of that section.

An attribute that causes a young person to reach their maximum quicker/slower.

 

An attribute that causes an old person to have a faster/slowertime decline.

-If two people start declining at 40, the former might be worthless after a year, where the latter might be able to go for a few more without meaningful drop-off.

 

An attribute that causes a person to want/not want to script their matches.

Money motivated - more likely to sign for a company for more money no matter what other perks they offer, only cares about the amount of money on offer</p><p> </p><p>

Love of the game (or call it anything else, I can't think of anything) - more likely to sign for a company of they offer a big push, bigger role in the company, creative control etc</p><p> </p><p>

I think you know what I'm going for any way, have it so guys might look for different things in contract negotiations so that a smaller company with less money might still be able to attract a guy simply by saying 'come here and be a top stop and do what you want' whereas other guys will just go to whoever offers the most money</p>

<p>Thinking things over, I imagine that there should attribute aligning to each match aim that give bonuses or penalties depending on aim. </p><p> </p><p>

Additionally there should be attributes that give either bonuses or penalties depending on match type (ie: cage, ladder, etc.)</p><p> </p><p>

Perhaps there should be quick/slow learner attribute that would modify skill progression.</p><p> </p><p>

Instant star-- an attribute that reduces scouting on a worker's SQ (for guys like Cena, Luger, Hogan, Rock)</p><p> </p><p>

Veteran Teacher--this could be for guys like Terry Funk who were known to help a lot of younger workers by giving them tips. Workers with this tag could occasionally give pointers to young guys without necessarily forming a protege/mentor relationship.</p>

<p><strong>Meat Sauce:</strong> Someone who will work for any company for any amount of money, and gets especially desperate if unemployed for a long period of time. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dumb as Rocks:</strong> More likely to terribly botch in matches and/or promos, even if their experience is high. Also more likely to get into negative incidents and make dumb statements in media interviews (or on social media for modern era).</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Witness:</strong> Someone who's so happy about their religion that they talk about it any chance they get. Could have negative results if workers are rubbed the wrong way, but can also have positive results if workers come to that worker and share their happiness of being of similar faith.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>No Seller:</strong> Someone who can let what others say about them roll off their back. Less likely to form a negative relationship with someone no matter how much that worker trashes them in media interviews (or on social media for modern era).</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kayfabe:</strong> A worker who will stay in character constantly, to the point of even trying to work their own co-workers backstage, and giving what should be out of character interviews in-character, which can result in negative incidents and/or relationships.</p>

<strong>Creative Genius</strong>: When given control over gimmick, it rarely grades terribly.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Big Talker</strong>: Ability to successfully cut a promo without a script.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Best In The World:</strong> Doesn’t like to be scripted in matches or promos.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Big Business</strong>: Likely to open up a company, Dojo or become head booker of a company.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Stripe Shirt</strong> Likely to train and become a referee once they’ve hung up the boots.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Match Specialist:</strong> Small boost in matches that they are specialist at. I.E “Spot Monkey” gets a boost in a High Spot match.</p>

There could be another for the opposite of this (great talkers who eventually became great in-ring talents).</p><p> </p><p> I don't know how big of a pain in the butt it would be to muck about with retired wrestlers, but wrestling isn't wrestling without short-lived retirements.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Just One More Match:</strong> This worker is willing to come out of retirement if given a big pay day from a cult or larger sized company.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Never Say Never:</strong> This worker has a tough time staying away from the ring and will constantly come out of retirement.</p>

<strong>The Plain Rises High</strong></p><p>

This worker has nothing that really stands out for them. However, they seemingly resonate with the fans no matter what they do or get into.</p><p> </p><p>

I would probably also limit this to the average person type of wrestler. At the Cult/National level it can transform into the following:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Blessed Are The Meek</strong></p><p>

Everyone knows that this person isn't what you'd call a star, but what got them to this stage still works for them.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In Over Their Head</strong></p><p>

What worked for this person before making it to this stage, just never carries over with the fans at the next level.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

The opposite of the previous.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dusk Until Dawn</strong></p><p>

This worker is highly talented but nothing they do gets them over. They just haven't found that special something that gets them to the next level.</p><p> </p><p>

At the Cult/National Level transforms into:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Morning's Light</strong></p><p>

This wrestler has finally managed to find the thing necessary to get over with the fans. The dawn's light has finally reached them and the sky is the limit.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Darkness Remains</strong></p><p>

This person just continues to have issues reaching that next level and it will require something miraculous to get them over.</p><p> </p><p>

I would say that if a wrestler ended up with this one, this one is probably hard to get rid of or you won't be able to get rid of it easily. It probably would last until one hits the prime years or can't be modified off of a wrestler until that point.</p><p> </p><p>

This would probably be tied to the Star Quality / Performance ratings and probably cease to be after that.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Others I Think Would Be Good:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Limited But Deadly</strong></p><p>

This is a worker who's not really got much of a move set or talent, but what they do looks deadly and just clicks with the audience.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Talented Yet Boring</strong></p><p>

This person can do it all, yet every single move they make in the ring ust looks like they are going through the motions.</p><p> </p><p>

Both of these would be tied down the flashiness stat, or something similar to that.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Can I Have This Dance?</strong></p><p>

This person gains favorable chemistry much easier. OR This worker has good/great chemistry with everyone.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>I Have Two Left Feet</strong></p><p>

This person gains unfavorable chemistry much easier. OR This worker has bad /terrible chemistry with everyone.</p><p> </p><p>

Just a simple one that isn't tied to anything. Not sure if it should be the first or second to each, so I put both to allow for whichever you feel is more appropriate. I think the first two, but having someone who's always going to just never click or always click might be a more interesting dynamic.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Catch Me If I Fall</strong></p><p>

This worker may seem or feel unsafe, but has a lower chance to cause an injury to others or themselves.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Oops, Did I Do That</strong></p><p>

This worker just continually has the unlucky habit of hurting other or themselves.</p><p> </p><p>

Not sure if these have been suggested yet, but I figured I'd go with them and see how it works.</p>
