A little worried about the description though, no fighter has stopped their career to make a run at the Olympics. Not even guys like Ishii or Yoshida guys who probably could have made their teams. Canada asked GSP and he thought about it and declined. The advantage of the Olympics is scouting and throwing money at the best athletes in the world and coaxing a few every cycle to make the jump. This could be super fun, or super annoying. Fingers crossed.

Yea I hope the olympics is more for young unknown guys or can be setup as such.

I want to back the brinks truck up to Kyle Synder and Jordan Burrough's door. They should probably say no, but the 1/100 games they take the money is going to be my favorite save of all-times. But please don't make me pause my game to watch an olympic final between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier.

I'm almost certain wrestling and boxing will be selectable.

But I don't think the feature is for scouting. The way I read it it's a way for some fighters to gain extra pop (and like I said: increase immersion/variance), not that you can scout the winners in an attempt to lure them in. The latter would be awesome too, but is already implemented in the game by the background attributes. Hopefully Adam can get it done as it's almost the same as the reality TV shows that also spawn new fighters on the fly. The only thing that is missing is the extra pop boost upon entry and the achievements (like their Olympic ranking, which you can mod in).

I tend to hire the same people over and over every different game, but it's always nice to hire champions of some sort. I just hope the event is not completely random but takes the right skills into account (like the Crusader Kings tourneys if you program them well).

I really like the sound of the new additions, I can't wait to see what they're like in the game.

I'm quite happy with the new features this year, all I can hope for now is that fighters can change their home base every now and then and I'll be quite happy.

I'm loving the Olympic addition and World Championships. I would kind of like the regen system to occasionally throw in the odd slightly aged regen that is already an Olympic champion (with the actual standard of medal they received in their bio). Most often those that have won olympic medals tend to start MMA at a later age than their peers and possibly aren't quite as well rounded as others. Ronda Rousey is a good example of someone with great Judo skills but very little in the way of striking defence.

I'd also like to see the occasional regen that debuts in mixed martial arts in their 30s, coming from a completely different sport that they were top level in. Daniel Cormier is a good example of someone who was able to become very well rounded despite not doing MMA until age 30. There are also quite a few examples of kickboxers that come across to MMA after dominating for years in their own sport.

Not only has the reality TV show feature been improved, it's actually better than the real thing (as UFC doesn't use a strict team vs team format in R1). If there's now an option to make existing fighters pop up as free slots to simulate trials (instead of only creating new ones on the fly) it'd be near perfect.

You may call these QoL features but it adds so much to the replayability of the game. Though people have had annoyances with the engine, it's been solid since WMMA3 and has always made me come back to the game so these QoL things are what many players needed the most. All I'm really hoping for now is dynamic AI that actually uses these reality shows and adds weight classes on the fly if there's a big enough talent pool. Or allow modders to use dynamic narratives that use "IF-triggers" so we can nudge the AI a little.

Only a couple of things left on my personal annoyance list:

Fighters (especially SHW & HW, but also almost all of those moving up a weight class) preferring 1 pound over the weight limit

The look and ease of readability of the fight screen itself

I'll be buying day 1 anyway based on what's already been announced, but if these two elements are addressed, along with a more competitive AI, it would be close to perfection for me

Unless it's prevalent with spawned fighters, but everybody has its own "preferred weight". If it happens to be 206 than that's fine. The fault is that the AI will always use the preferred weight by default unless a string of losses will force them to lower it one weight. Maybe it should determine the optimal weight based on discrepancy to the official limits.

There's tons of people in the default data that weigh in at 206 when they're moved to Heavyweight.

If we can just get to the point where the AI can be trusted to run a company passably, that would be a monumental leap forward for me.

ive been waiting for an update on reality shows! im most excited about this one. seems like its going to be very interesting putting together a TUF series!<img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

There are alot of ways weight could be fixed to increase immersion. This is just one of them.
