What's going on in YOUR game?

Recommended Posts

I ran a womens only game using only the C-Verse females and deleting all the men to make a very quick running game. Already in 2014 and my only complaint is the obvious:

The women tend to retire around 31-34 years old and after 31 their skills start to plummet.

Couple this with them hitting their prime around 29 and you have a bunch of very short title reigns.

I know why it's in the game like this, but man, it kind of sucks trying to build these female fighters to only enjoy them at the top for a year or two. On the other hand, the quick roster turnover is interesting.

Edit: So many sex tape scandals...

Yeah, the women retire very early...

I’m nearing the end of 2020 in a mod game using the UFC. Titles are changing hands like crazy. My champions and top contenders are:

HW: Francis Ngannou

- Just beat Cormier, looking at a Stipe rematch or Blaydes trilogy next. Not much depth in this division, Cormier retired.

LHW: Dominick Reyes

- Most likely will face Thiago Santos or Johnny Walker, who has been a monster, next. Likely will have Jones win a fight or two and then trilogy fight.

MW: Israel Adesanya

- No good contenders sadly, may do a one off fight at LHW while I wait for a contender to emerge, or may put Shebazyan in against him which I was going to wait on, but he just beat Till. The game has Brad Tavares as the No. 1 contender, but I just can’t do that.

WW: Kamaru Usman

- just beat Woodley in a rematch. Lot of options for contenders. Ponzanibio just beat Masvidal, Diaz beat Covington and Conor is facing Covington soon. Leaning towards Ponzinibio cause he’s the most legit contender, though Diaz or Conor sell more fights.

LW: Khabib Nurmagomedov

- Khabib beat Ferguson and is fighting Do Bronx next. After that Kevin Lee and Al Iaqujnta are both on winning streaks, I could move Conor back down and Ferguson will eventually get a rematch I’m sure.

FW: Alexander Volkanovski

- Beat Korean Zombie and Yair Rodriguez already, getting ready to face off with Magomedaharipov. Winner of that likely faces Max Holloway.

BW: Cory Sandhagen (Petr Yan beat Cejudo before losing to Sandhagen)

- Dominick Cruz has won two big fights and likely gets the next title shot. Also have Cejudo/Faber fighting each other and Garbrandt likely getting a number one contender fight soon.

Fly: Joseph Benavidez

- Getting ready time face off with Formiga. Pantoja vs. Borg is current No. 1 contender fight.

WBW: Holly Holm

- Beat Nunes, doing a trilogy fight in January 2021. No other great contenders, Aspen Ladd probably fights the winner of Holm/Nunes. Sarah Moras is surprisingly close to a title fight too as she keeps beating my top contenders when I put them up against her.

WFly: Joanne Calderwood

- Has a fight with Chookagian booked, only because I didn’t want to do an instant rematch with Schevchenko. Most likely the winner will face Schenchenko assuming she wins her next fight or Montana De La Rosa who has been awesome and is about to fight Jessica Eye.

SW: Rose Namajunas (Joanna beat Zhang and lost to Rose)

- Might be my most competitive division, definitely most competing women’s. Rose is going to face Carla Esparza in a rematch from TUF. Gadelha and Waterson are facing off to be No. 1 contender as both have been crazy hot. Tatiana Suarez, Joanna, Andrade, and Zhang are all lurking.

I wish I could change ita bit because my favorite part is seeing who becomes a dominate champion and who finally unseats them. In this game I have no one with more than 5 defense.

I had Rennaya Rives in my Road to Glory save. She went undefeated for about five years before I stopped the save. But I think she's 21 at the start. It's a shame you can't really hire women at 31 or older, as there's a big chance they'll retire after their next fight.

Playing a custom promotion, stole Hassan Fezzik from ALPHA-1, it's the twilight of his career, I basically just hired him for the "prestige" and so I could have him fight and get beaten by a few of my up and coming heavyweights. I give him a championship shot against the in his prime undefeated monster Murilo Satinho, and in the last ten seconds of the first round Fezzik punches Satinho right in the jaw and KOs him cleanly. He managed to defend the belt once against James Foster before getting destroyed by Teddy Glossop and retiring, but I've been simming this game for about 16 in game years and this is still the coolest unexpected thing that's happened with the original WMMA characters.

I'm also on my third attempt to get William Harrison to be a star (2 saves in WMMA4 and this one) and for the third time he's never broken into the top 5. I can get him around 8 in my company and 8-10 in the world, but he always starts losing fights when he's about to breakout and be a championship challenger.

(Rd 2 - 00:15) Croft hits a left jab and then hits Rockerfeller with a high right head kick.

(Rd 2 - 00:06) The clock is stopped as referee Stanley Wright wants to check the cuts on both fighters.

(Rd 2 - 00:06) The doctor checks Rockerfeller, and doesn't take long to signal to the referee that it is only minor.

(Rd 2 - 00:06) The doctor then checks Croft, and doesn't take long to signal to the referee that it's a bad one! The fight is over!

(Rd 2 - 00:06) The winner, by TKO due to a cut; Brooke Rockerfeller!

Think twice before you headkick people. Croft was outstriking her 28 to 8. :p

I just completed GAMMA 100: Banner vs Lermontov II, which took place September 2006. I finally signed Hassan Fezzik in August 2005 (better late than never), after he had retired the month before after a decision loss to Kukichi, and been the 1st inductee into the Alpha-1 HOF. Talked him outta retirement right after the induction, and had him signed the next week...all of course to set up the dream bout against James Foster. Granted, both men at this point are 40 yrs old, and well past their prime in my save. Foster had actually lost his last 3 fights heading into this event against Fezzik, and refuses to retire. I was undaunted though, as I booked this match for our GAMMA 100 event (3rd down the card, shame it wasn't a few years earlier, would have been the easy main event). I also figured that just 3 rounds, whether these guys were past their prime or not, wasn't fitting enough for the 2 greatest heavyweights of all time. I decided to create a new title; the GAMMA Heritage Heavyweight championship, and set the fight for 4 rounds with a possible 5th decider round, so we would have a clear cut winner. This fight didn't disappoint, despite the age/wear and tear of the 2 legends. Fezzik came into this bout as a -320 to +250 favorite. Fezzik took the 1st round, clearly out-striking Foster, although Foster did manage a belly to belly suplex takedown half way through the round. Round 2 Foster edges Fezzik, after taking him down and unsuccessfully attempting 4 RNC's. Round 3 Fezzik seems to be wearing down, he was breathing heavy at this point, but still landing good shots in the stand up game. Foster managed to take Fezzik down at about 2 min. remaining in the round and try to GnP with little success, Fezzik edges Foster in the 3rd round. Fezzik was arguably up 2 rounds to 1 at this point. Round 4: The first minute saw Fezzik again landing some good punches, then Foster took him down with a big slam. Fezzik is very tired at this point, as Foster has grinded him down a lot by, taking his best shots, clinching and slamming him down, and once on the ground doggedly trying for the submission. Foster then attempts 2 arm triangles, to no avail, 2 arm bars, with no luck, but ends up getting the mount on Fezzik. Fezzik rolls to the side to try to escape only to give up his back, and there we see classic James Foster sinking in the RNC and making Hassan Fezzik tap! Foster pulls off the upset, as I was hoping he would. He needed this win much more than Fezzik. Had Foster not have put away Fezzik we would have had a 5th round I'm sure, as these guys had to been 2 rounds a piece. Couldn't have wanted this fight to go any different, other than being a bit late in their careers. Just thought after reading some recent comments on this thread that had to do with these 2 guys matching up that it would be relevant. I figured Fezzik would win this bout, but was pleasantly surprised that Foster pulled it out in an entertaining fight. This was also the 1st and only time in my save that Hassan Fezzik had ever tapped.

As far as the Heritage Heavyweight title goes, I still have to fine-tune the guidelines as to whom exactly qualifies as a contender for this belt. I guess it's much like a senior division of sorts, as the term 'Heritage' implies a history in this sport, a record of fights, an impact. Used the original GAMMA Heavyweight belt for the title pic. Definitely something different, and could give aging legends who aren't ready to retire something to fight for besides a paycheck.

The main event pitting Lamont Banner vs Fiyero Lermontov was their second meeting. Lermontov winning the first bout defending his title by way of 2nd round TKO to give Banner his first defeat. Banner put Lermontov away this time, by TKO 30 seconds into the first round with one of his patented body shots. Banner is the biggest star in the world in my save, in terms of name value.

Other odds and ends:

Current GAMMA champs as of Sept. 2006:

Super Heavyweight- Kiyomori Sanda 15-0, 8-0 GAMMA, 4 title defenses, only 24 yrs old

Heavyweight- Lars-Gunnar Ekberg 18-1, 12-1 GAMMA, 2 title defenses, 27 yrs old

Light Heavyweight- Affonso Villar 34-4, 3-0 GAMMA, No defenses yet, 30 yrs old

Middleweight- Adam White 21-3-1NC, 14-3-1NC GAMMA, 1 title defense, 31 yrs old

Welterweight- Diego Arteta 16-0, 9-0 GAMMA, 1 title defense, 29 yrs old

Lightweight- Lamont Banner 21-2, 13-2 GAMMA, 1 title defense, 29 yrs old

Featherweight- Philip Ziskie 29-5-1, 6-2 GAMMA, 0 defenses, 2nd reign, 34 yrs old

Heritage Heavy- James Foster 40-8-1, 13-4 GAMMA, inaugural champ *Had a 10 fight win streak at one point, which lasted 7 years, 9 title defenses as Heavyweight champ*

Next event up is GAMMA 101: Ekberg vs Lopes (This is purely a grudge match. Fight is non-title, which I'm not keen on, but these guys absolutely hate each other, and Gladstone Lopes is only ranked 12th in GAMMA.) Hope this is all somewhat coherent Haha

Fezzik left for GAMMA and KO'd Foster in 48 seconds.

I then held a HWGP for Alpha. Maurilo Satinho was 16-0, and the next big thing. He was far and away the favorite. But a week or so before the card he gets injured and is out for 14 months. Now it's up for grabs. Terron Cabal was probably the favorite.

I had quite a few guys out, so mediocre #13 HW (not even world ranked) Gyokoshu Fujimoto makes the 8 man tourney. He kills heavy favorite Sarkisian in rd 1 of the opening round. Lands a 1 punch KO on Oktay in the second round in the semi finals, then KO's Terron Cabal with another 1 punch KO in 1 minute in the finals to become HW champ. He was a big underdog in every fight.

I look at his stats, and suddenly he's an absolute monster...

Now the question is, is he really this legit? To go from unranked to #3 in the world in one night? We need to wait another year for Satinho to recover, so in the mean time I've convinced Palmer Lette to come out of retirement and take a HW Title fight with Fujimoto.

I love these early body shot finishes. They always make me smile and keep an extra eye on the guy's booking from that point on.

Nothing much.. just Daniel Cormier Pulling out a" Jon Jones" and getting arrested also ken shamrock died.. let's say for my first time ever playing that game it's a wild Ride but I'm definitely hooked.. finally being #1 promotion with Bellator..was trying to not over abuse the cut fighters from UFC but at some point had too if I wanted to put a good show rating wise. Still Jiri Prochazka is #1 p4p since 2 years and technically ain't a old UFC guy since I'm using the 2018 mods I believe

Napier took on Dean, lost, then like a week later started visiting Dean's gym which I thought was funny. I'm currently in the 1st week of January, 2005.

My last event was GAMMA 94: Banner vs. Takeuchi

I bought and absorbed XCC in late 2003. I will explain how that was handled.

The XCC Lightweight Champion was treated as a #1 contender and immediately was given a title shot against my then champion (Fiyero Lermontov) in what was essentially a unification bout. After the fight, the XCC Lightweight title was retired.

The XCC Featherweight and Bantamweight Championships were renamed to GAMMA Featherweight Championship and GAMMA Bantamweight Championship, current champs kept their belts and were allowed to make defenses. All history of the belt is treated as GAMMA history.

When I bought XCC I had already poached talent from their ranks so I moved guys who were better suited for the smaller weights to the preferred weights. (Li Kong Ho, Lubos Plasil, Lamont Banner). There were exceptions, Banner I kept at Lightweight until he lost his title shot that he had earned. Yagi Jokichi and Philip Ziskie also both remained as they were and currently still both are undefeated in my Lightweight division.

My current champions:

Super Heavyweight: Kiyomori Sanda (Defeated Kel Ryan, Ryan had 3 successful defenses).

Heavyweight: Wilson Franklyn (Defeated Terron Cabal, Cabal had just won the belt from Hiro Arai, who was the man that dethroned James Foster. Franklyn has yet to defend his title).

Light Heavyweight: Zvonimir Asanovic (Defeated Valentin Taneyev, Taneyev had one successful defense against Mike Watson and beat Spencer Rubenstein to win the belt, Rubenstein beat Watson. Asanovic has yet to defend his title).

Middleweight: Braulio Moura (He never defeated Matthew Dean for the belt as Dean was stripped after he was inactive for a year. He took almost a 2 year hiatus after his only title defense in the game. Moura beat Buddy Garner for the belt as he was my interim champ before I stripped Dean of the belt. Moura has 4 defenses against Adam White, Carlos da Guia, Petey Mack, and Dwayne Alleyne).

Welterweight: Manuel Silva (Defeated Darin Blood, Silva was interim champ after Blood sustained a major concussion that kept him on the shelf for a year Silva beat Bobby Brubaker for the Interim belt, defended it against Jens Halle, then unified the belts against Darin Blood. He has since defended the belt 2 times. First against Rufus Stephens and then Diego Arteta. He knocked them both out).

Lightweight: Yagi Jokichi (Defeated Fiyero Lermontov, Lermontov defeated Jake Keane for the belt and defended it successfully against Lamont Banner and Duane Weatherly who was the XCC Lightweight champion when GAMMA acquired XCC. Jokichi has yet to defend his belt).

Featherweight: Lamont Banner (Defeated Colm Dee, Dee defeated Alejandro Laguera who was the XCC Featherwweight Champ when XCC was acquired. Banner just made his 1st defense against Tomohiro Takeuchi).

Bantamweight: Ollie Rockmetteller (Has made 3 defenses of his belt after winning the belt in one of the final XCC events).

Tadamasa Yamada loves prostitutes in my game. I signed him and he fights once. Then the scandal breaks and he's just gonna sit there for another year at this point.

Now that I'm looking back through and see that people like to talk about Fezzik Vs. Foster. I was building up a fight between these two, but Carter Potter then KO'd Fezzik in 2:28 of the first round.

So I set up a fight between Foster and Potter thinking surely Potter would lose to Foster.... WRONG. He oustruck Foster, stopped his takedowns, and even outgrappled Foster in the clinch on his way to a UD.

At this point I'm like "Potter must have been blessed with a high destiny."

So I give him his well earned title shot against then champion Hiro Arai. Turns out Potter wasn't ready for Hiro Arai. A flurry of punches followed by a headkick led to Potter getting put to sleep.

I guess I have to suspend LeToussier now? I mean I don't feel like this is as big of an issue as the game makes it seem. The only time I can think of this happening was when Henderson punched Bisping after he was out but I don't think Henderson got suspended for it.</p>

I'm a Veteran of TEW and WMMA but I've never seen a story sadder the story of James Foster in my current GAMMA Save. He fought Rav Kapur in May 2003 and lost his heavyweight title. After the fight, he failed a drug test for TRT and got suspended for a year. That was fine, it wasn't ideal but I could deal with it. Now I put him in a fight against Terron Cabal in November '04 because I signed a bunch of Alpha-1 guys and if this is Foster's last fight then he should go out fighting another legend.

That didn't happen however because two weeks before his fight he got caught with prostitutes and now he's out for another 9 freakin' month. The dude completely destroyed his own career in back to back years. He went from being an MMA Legend and Icon to being an absolute pariah in the sport.

I'd say he's the WMMA version of Jon Jones but at least Jon Jones was in his early thirties when he ruined his career, Foster has no chance of turning this around because he's 37 and he's going to be 38 by the time he gets to fight again.
