TEW2020 Attribute Suggestion Thread

Recommended Posts

Mental Health Issues: Increased risk of addictions and negative incidents. Small chance of suicide. (Could probably split this out into different types, but maybe that's not necessary)

The Leslie Effect: Gimmicks deteriorate faster, but can also be changed more often.

Whatever is needed: Can turn more often without penalty, and less likely for a turn to bomb.

Big Personality: More likely to generate relationships and incidents, whether positive or negative.

Big Fish in a Small Pond: Likes being a key player, even if it means staying in a smaller fed. Cannot be stolen away from a fed giving them a main event push, unless he is guaranteed or likely to have the same in the new fed.

Part Timer: Will only sign contracts that require a limited number of shows.

In it for the money: The more they are paid, the more willing they will be to be booked weakly.

Cosmetic/User-named tags: No in-game effect, but the modmaker (or player?) may want to use them for organizational purposes.

(such as how finished the worker is)

And thinking of things that might not make sense for 90% of mods, but would be great for the weirder fantasy mods like the one I am working on....

Doesn't age: This worker is, for whatever reason, essentially immortal. Their stats will neither grow nor decay due to natural progression, and they will retire much later than usual. (for like, robots and vampires and stuff)

Terry Funk Wannabe: This worker refuses to retire, no matter how old, in physical or skills decline he is in.

Like Any Given Wrestler: These guys, like any given wrestler, will always be open to return from retirement if it matches their personality, career or financial goals.

Man of his word: This wrestler will retire once and be one of those rare ones that sticks to his word. Tying these to other attributes, if possible, would be even great.

Goals: Much like WMMA5, if we could have specific goals for a wrestler that would be about what makes them tick, it would be awesome. Career, fame, fortune, glory, Passion for the business, would be just some of the possibilities. Fame would be tied to the need to stay in the spotlight, career and glory would be tied to objectives. Success in the latter, stability in the former. Glory is self explanatory. Passion for the business as well, as it would be tied to being able to be creative and to be successful and have freedom on that side of the business.

Friends in the Back- This wrestler makes it a point to be pleasant with the production crew and other backstage personnel. As such, they often find that the camera is in just the right spot when they hit a big move, the lighting is just right for interviews backstage, and any gear they might need to use is in pristine condition.

That 80s Guy- The epitome of 80s excess. This worker will see improved gains in popularity and performance so long as he's using steroids OR hard drugs.

That 90s Guy- The epitome of 90s edginess. This worker cuts significantly better promos in promotions with risque content, but the shine comes off when he's in more mainstream promotions. More likely to develop substance abuse problems.

That 00s Guy- The epitome of 00s workrate. This worker's in-ring performance is slightly higher than his stats might otherwise indicate, but he suffers accelerated wear and tear on his body.

Social Media Wildcard- This worker is a guaranteed social media user, and is more likely to experience the extreme effects brought on by social media use.

Late Career Problems (aka The Hogan Effect)- Upon reaching the end of his relevance, this worker becomes significantly more likely to be involved in scandals.

Late Bloomer- This worker won't hit his creative peak until relatively late in his career.

Real Late Starter- This non-wrestler will develop in-ring skills over time and eventually be available for hire as an active wrestler.

Champion Material- This worker has the aura of a champion. Any belt held by this worker sees a small boost in prestige with each defense.

Ham and Egger- This worker has made a career off of making others look good. Anyone victorious against this worker in a match sees slightly greater benefits from their win.

Future Announcer/Referee/Manager/Whatever- Upon retirement, this worker will attempt to seek further employment in the industry under the selected role, and receive a bump to relevant abilities to be a viable hire in that position. (Either make this a series of mutually exclusive checkboxes or allow for the worker to have an equal chance of taking on any of the checked roles.)

While The Getting Is Good- This worker goes straight from "Active Wrestler" to "Out of the Business" on the date of his or her retirement.

Candle In The Wind- This worker is destined to die young.

The Naked Emperor- For as long as this worker is an active wrestler, the AI will hire and push him as though he is significantly (50 popularity or more) better than he actually is. A major scandal or particularly low-rated main event performance may be able to shake this attribute.

They Keep Pulling Me Back In- This "Out of the Business" or "Retired Wrestler" may re-enter the business if market conditions make it look like they'd be a viable candidate for hiring.

Look At All This Money I Have- This worker will not become pregnant.

Company Man- When working as a booker, this worker will try to book toward the biases of the company owner.

Misunderstood Genius- When working as a booker, this worker is more likely to come into conflict with his company owner.

Climber- This worker will apply for open leadership positions in larger promotions even if currently employed.

I'll Show Them- If he has the available money, this worker's response to being fired might very well be to start his own promotion.

Others have suggested this one, but here's my take:

Tag Team Specialist- This worker is more likely to have positive chemistry with tag team partners. Any tag team containing this worker accumulates experience slightly faster.

I'm a strong believer that bumping and selling should have a little distinction between the two. It'd be nice to have a character trait or attribute for bumping.

Bumper / Bumps Like A Boss - Able to make the simplest maneuver seem devastating. Can make a good match great. Most useful when being squashed or matched up with a Powerhouse, etc. to make the opponent look great.

In a simple squash match a guy with a high bumper rating or a bumper trait will make their opponent look good even without a high selling rating. But having a low selling rating while having a high bumper rating/trait could end up overselling and in a more serious product/match aim or an uppercard spot and could hurt the rating of the match.

So if someone is brought in that 'Bumps Like A Boss' but doesn't have a high selling rating, they could make a main event match look like a joke. However if they are allowed to develop and grow to a higher selling (Psychology?) rating to match their Bumps Like A Boss trait/rating they could take a main event match or a turn at their expense go to a whole new level.

Just a thought.

Hates Travelling - Bonus in his home region. Penalties outside of it, getting worse the further away he's made to go.

Not Allowed In Canada - Can work for promotions that operate in that county, but there's a chance he'll be stopped at the border if any shows are booked there.

A little something for workers like Joey Ryan.

Intergender Match Specialist: Always willing to work matches against the opposite gender and lose to them if appropriate. Provide some sort of boost to the match rating if it is intergender.

Then the opposite for guys like Eli Drake.

Against Intergender Matches: Will never work an Intergender match, ever.

I've looked through the thread a couple times but may have forgotten some stuff and may be copying some but yeah.

Curtain Jerker - Gets a bonus (Performance) when in the first match of a show. Gets a negative when placed in the Main Event.

Off the cuff - This wrestler gets a bonus when a promo or match has to be changed during the night. (This would incorporate the new ability to change booking on the fly.)

Dealer - They increase the chance of other people in the locker room taking up drug habits.

Lonely - Workers with this attribute get a negative to morale while they have no positive relationships with someone in the locker room. (Incestivises meddling and/or hiring their friends.)

Jolly - Workers must be above Heavyweight in size and Flabby or worse body tone. Users with this trait increase the backstage environment positively.

Quick Witted - Users with this trait will talk themselves out of fights backstage if the antagonize someone. (So a new backstage prompt where if two people were going to fight, the quick witted person would talk themselves out of it.)

Independent - This user doesn't add to the backstage environment positively or negatively. This user isn't affected by the backstage environment either.

Punctual - This worker will never be late for backstage meetings.

Stoic - This worker is less likely to be affected by Hardline/Iron Fist Owners/Bookers. (I forget what the trait is.)

Loser - This worker is notorious for getting picked on, and is more likely to be involved in backstage incidents. Loser is also more likely to form tension with workers who have the Bully trait.

Protective - This worker will form positive bonds with workers who have the Loser trait. Also will gain the same negative relationships that their friends make.

Humble - This worker will not be involved in negative social media campaigns. This worker can't gain Egotistical trait.

Over-Reactive - Bookers/Owners with this trait will react wildly to positive and negative events. If a star has a bad presence backstage, they will push them down the card or ask the booker to make sure they don't gain popularity. (Vice versa with positive events.)

Sabbath: The worker is an Orthodox Jew or Seventh-Day Christian and as such will not work between 6PM on Fridays and 7PM on Saturdays. (AKA the Bert Ruby / Rafael Halperin / Isaac Shemin attribute.)

Organized Crime: The worker has ties with organized crime. Raises the odds of an early, violent death; also helps with ticket sales of shows he's on as his buddies want to see him wrestle. (AKA the Dino Bravo / Gino Hernandez, allegedly, attribute)

Yakuza: Japan-specific version of the above with the same effect PLUS a potential for a major scandal should the press figure out the worker is involved with the Yakuza, which will hurt both the promotion's and the worker's images. (AKA Rikidozan, Haruka Eigen, etc)

Yakuza Promoter: See above, but this time, it's the promoter that has ties with the Yakuza. If the press finds out, the person might be forced out of his company and the company might even collapse. (AKA Shoichi Arai)

Belt Mark: This worker is a mark for championships and might offer promoters money to hold their top belt (AKA the guys who paid to be NWA champs, such as The Sheik (Not Ed Farhat) and the NWA belt)

Too Much Fortnite: This worker is obsessed with MMO games to the point he loses sleep over it, which hurts his performances (DEFINITIVELY a thing in sports, many exemples in hockey and baseball, amongst others)

Crippled: This worker suffered from debilitating injuries related to wrestling (while traveling or in-ring) and will not recover enough to live a normal life. Fundraisers / Events in their names might be generated, friends might visit them in the hospital (news element) and they have a high percentage of early death. (AKA Takayama, Hayabusa, Hirai, Hoshikawa, Droz, Johnny Valentine, Magnum TA, Mike Von Erich, etc)

Can't Take The Heat - This worker is more likely to be involved in negative social media incidents, and develop negative relationships through social media.

Surfer - This user loves the waves, and as such won't work with a promotion whose home region isn't located on the coast. (Not 100% sure this is possible, but just have them refuse certain locations.)

Need to escape - This worker made negative comments about their own country. They get slightly increased negative mood when performing in their home country.

Can't Cut It - This worker is more likely to leave the business if they get fired from a promotion or are unemployed for six months.

Can't squash me - This User always looks good in defeat. (Like they have a permanent Keep Strong booking note.)

Bi-polar - This Workers mood is erratic. At random their mood can go extremely negative.

Wimpy Looking - This worker doesn't look like he can fight, workers who lose to him suffer a greater negative. (Similar to workers being squashed. This would be only applied to cruiserweight level workers.)

Ageless Wonder: After reaching their decline age, their skills will erode at a significantly slower rate than normal.

Back To Business: Gives a worker who left the business a chance to return.

Dedicated Teacher: As long as the worker is the head trainer or owner of a training facility, they will not leave the business, no matter how old they get. They may no longer take any active roles however, but will always remain with their training facility.

(For guys like Harley Race who continued to operate his school and train wrestlers into his 70s until his passing).

Funny Organs: Instead of incurring a negative incident for letting out one of the world's stinkiest farts, this worker's backstage flatulence incidents will be positive, slightly increasing locker room morale for letting out one of the world's loudest and funniest sounding farts.

Gas Station: This worker has an increased chance of fart backstage incidents, whether positive or negative.

Media Whiz: This worker, even if they have low to average entertainment skills, will always pull off great TV & radio interviews. Very small chance that they may see their entertainment skills increase slightly with each appearance.

Media Neophyte: This worker, despite having good to great entertainment skills, has a very good chance of dropping the ball on their media appearances, such as TV & radio interviews, convention appearances, autograph sessions, etc. There's an outside chance this tag can disappear after enough appearances for them to gain confidence in doing outside appearances.

Gamer Tag would be a nice one. Higher chance of bringing the backstage together with video games.

Someone mentioned it with Young Blood/Old Soul traits but it would be nice if there were a bunch of traits like Gamer/Rock Music Lover/Car Enthusiest/Hobbyist that make people more likely to form relationships to those with the same trait.

Category: Misc. Attributes

Adult Film Star - This worker is known for their adult work, rather it be low budget or professionally shot. Because of this, they have a slight charisma boost and make friends easier. The downside being that superstars in relationships feel the need to hide their lover from them.

Former Adult Film Star - This worker is known for their past work in the adult film industry. This worker has a slight popularity increase, but carries a negative stigma with them when signing to a major company for the first thirty days.

My simpler take on the same idea:

Adult Film Star: AI-controlled companies with a heavy risque/hardcore/cult product are more likely to sign that worker, while AI-controlled companies with a heavy mainstream/traditional will probably never sign them.

Bad Timing - Workers with this trait are notorious for missing their queue during an angle, and as such will occasionally cause an angle they are involved in to completely fail.

Adrenaline Junky - This worker is always down to do stunt bumps, high spots, or risky bumps. They also participate in another adrenaline sport activities often and have an increased chance of dying in such activities. (I forget all the terms for bumps ect.)

It's who I am - This worker will never agree to unmask. (I know this is in the game but an easy check would be nice.)

Chauvinist- This worker creates negative incidents with the opposite gender easier.
